Earth has been rumbling – and crumbling – and shifting – and as this “Earth-movement” period of time opens there is much speculation as to where the transformations will take place.

Tragically, the Earth itself shifted mightily just before the start of this period, devastating parts of northern Venezuela, and aftershocks are still affecting efforts to find and rescue tens of thousands of people, many of whom were trapped in collapsed buildings.

On the war fronts, it seems that a major push-back movement is underway as Ukraine begins its “40-day offensive” against Russia, in order to “pressure” Russia to “take a step towards peace”. A Russian military plant that produced artillery systems and components for military launch systems was just struck by Ukraine. And while this was taking place, the US was again striking targets in Iran in the midst of a so-called “ceasefire”.

But then “Movement” of this nature seems to be the hallmark of the Kab’an trecena, a trecena that often brings forth “evolutionary” shifts relating to life on Earth. The very first day of this time period coincides with the start of the fourth 52-day period within the 260-day cycle, an important shift-point within the overall sequence of days – a point that can even usher in new eras.

The last time this energy was in place, last October, hundreds of thousands of Palestinians were beginning their arduous journeys back to their homes, or what was left of them, after a so-called ceasefire, and tens of thousands were working tirelessly to find ways to deliver food, water, medical supplies, and shelter supplies into Gaza, assuming that a ceasefire would hold (which it didn’t). In the US (and globally) millions were preparing for one of the largest-ever push-back protests against authoritarianism, at the start of the “No Kings” era; speaking out against the US government shutdown, mass firings, and military occupations of their cities.

The fact that the symbol for Kab’an (Earth, Movement) was incorporated into the center of the 25 ton Aztec Calendar Stone, one of Mesoamerica’s most recognizable treasures, now housed in Mexico City’s National Anthropology Museum, offers testimony to the importance of this energy.

That hieroglyph, embedded with a rather fierce-looking face, represents “Movement” and the pulsating, cyclical nature of time. The face in the centre of the stone is thought to be that of the solar deity Tonatiuh, representing the connection between the sun and those cyclical shifts.

Back in 2021 former evolutionary biologist Bret Weinstein wrote an article titled “How the sun could wipe us out”, which began with the statement that “the world began to end on 12th May 2024 . . . .”. Although this highly controversial writer was speaking about solar emissions, bursts of charged plasma from the sun, it is intriguing to see how the days that he conjured up tie in with this particular trecena. He began by mentioning May 9th, 2024, which was One Kab’an, the first day of this trecena, exactly three cycles ago, the day when the sun emitted a particularly large solar flare. Three days later (May 12th) was 4 Ajaw, when an even larger blast was emitted, followed by an intense geomagnetic storm that sent forth several stronger bursts over the following few days, all within this trecena. Note, as well, that 4 Ajaw is the energy that began this new Maya Calendar era, on Dec. 21, 2012, after completion of the previous era that began in 3114 BC. Significantly, we are now embarking on the twentieth 260-day Tzolk’in cycle since that change-over to the new era, and 20 is one of those key numerical factors within this energy-tracking calendrical system.

While that “coincidence” was all about the sun, where the writer was speaking about the potential for strong plasma bursts to trigger “a cascade of devastating failures from which humanity will never recover”, there are other parallels that eerily tie in with this.

Indeed, three cycles ago this trecena not only brought forth intense heat waves, fire events, and war related events, but also intense activity within the US justice system, as boundaries were being tested through political indictments and within the courts as  Trump’s criminal hush-money trial was unfolding. At one point Judge Merchan warned that they were “on the precipice” of putting the dumpster-as-defendant in jail if there were any more breaches of the gag order that had been imposed upon him. Note that one of the first major tests of the system came nine cycles ago, in 2020, during his first impeachment trial, relating to “appalling abuses of public trust” and an “abusive and destructive violation of [his] oath of office”

But he was acquitted by Republicans, who have spinelessly continued to support him “no matter what”, to the point where a mere one cycle after being criminally convicted, he was back in the White House, issuing wrecking-ball orders that have continuously endangered (and, in many cases, destroyed) the lives and well-being of millions of people, after several other high-level indictments were dropped because of the Supreme Court’s ruling on the “infallibility” of the US president. Indeed, this was the first full trecena in place in late January-early February last year when “all hell broke loose” after his inauguration.

During that period the U.S., and by extension Earth itself, began a new era of upheaval, a new era of callousness, heartlessness, and lawlessness – a new era of the unrestrained abuse of power and excess, a new “time of testing” for almost everything, including legal systems – as personal gain and diabolical personal vendettas drove the agenda.

By the time this trecena returned, last October, the mind-boggling chaos, cruelty, incompetence, hypocrisy, outright perversion, and widespread government grift were in plain sight and the nature of the forces pushing against one another were becoming crystal clear. (The Aztec hieroglyph that depicts the kind of push-pull motion that determines the direction of evolution brilliantly captures the essence of this dynamic – see One Kab’an, below). And when the boorish, self-centered wrecking ball that currently occupies the White House began tearing down the historic East Wing of the White House one cycle ago, without congressional approval or any kind of oversight, to make room for a gaudy, vulgar, vanity-project “ballroom” for himself, people reacted in horror. One former Republican member of Congress called the renovation “utter desecration” of The People’s House. Others saw this as a clear indicator that America’s checks and balances, and even American Democracy itself, had already collapsed.

Two days before that it had become clear that millions and millions of people were willing to step into the breech, to become part of the monumental effort that would be needed to take back their country, as they took part in the first enormous No Kings rally that was saying “Enough is enough!”

From the perspective of Aztec mythology, the overseer of this Kab’an trecena was seen as Tlazoltéotl, the “Great Mother Goddess”, known as the “Eater of Filth”, who was associated with forgiveness and purification. She was seen not only as a fertility goddess who worked with major generative forces, but also as an entity who conducted confessional rites. These “confession” + “life generation” aspects can be seen in the tendency for events within this period to be, oftentimes, world-shaping in nature, in terms of both major endings as well as the emergence of new beginnings in association with issues that are often of an “earth-shaking” nature. While “boundary testing” often plays out during this period, energy returns relating to many consequential events from the past can often be detected.

Note that back in 1492 this was the trecena that saw the departure of Christopher Columbus from Spain en route westward across the Atlantic, following the dictates of the Catholic “Doctrine of Discovery” that stated that any land not inhabited by Christians was available to be “discovered”, claimed, and exploited by Christian rulers. Thus began the events that led to the promulgation of the BIG LIE that Columbus discovered a “New World”, filled with “savages”, that was there for the taking. Although that doctrine was rescinded on the first day of this trecena in 1537, it appears that the message did not reach many people as the atrocities continued on for centuries after that. Note that Columbus Day, a controversial observance, begun in 1792, to commemorate Christopher Columbus’s landing in the “new world” in 1492, is now celebrated as Indigenous People’s Day (aka Native American Day) in at least 12 states in the U.S. and is celebrated in many ways that honour indigenous nations (rather than Columbus) in many other countries.

During the mid 20th century this trecena has often been pivotal in terms of major conflicts, as seen in 1939 as German troops were assembling in preparation for their invasion of Poland just after Germany and the USSR signed a 10-yr. non-aggression pact. One cycle later, Germany began its blitzkrieg on Europe through its invasion of Holland, Belgium, and Luxembourg, the first stage in the Battle of France, on the first day of this trecena. At that time the British government was in disarray – on what has been seen as one of the most dramatic days in British history, British Prime Minister Neville Chamberlain resigned and Winston Churchill was appointed as Prime Minister. Several years later, this trecena brought forth the signing of the unconditional documents of surrender of the German forces, finally bringing World War II to an end, in May of 1945. The horror of that global conflict had spanned seven Tzolk’in cycles.

Five cycles ago, in December of 2022, the first day of this trecena coincided with the opening of the COP15 summit, as thousands of government officials, scientists, and activists representing 196 countries gathered in Montreal for the world’s most important biodiversity conference. That was the day when Trump’s New York company was convicted of fraud after being found guilty on all 17 counts, including conspiracy charges and falsifying business records. On that same day Raphael Warnock won the heated runoff election in Georgia, to decide Georgia’s representative for the U.S. Senate. His win helped Democrats to solidify their Senate majority in 2023.

The last time this was in place, last October, Adelita Grijalva was sworn in as a newly-elected member of the US House of Representatives, which provided enough signatures to prompt the release of the highly controversial Epstein files – a situation that Republicans have been frantically trying to avoid. A 400 page posthumous memoir related to that same scandal was also released during this period, shedding even more light on the wide spread perversity – and on-going cover-up efforts at the highest levels. This trecena is returning at a time when renewed efforts are being made to get the remainder of the files released, and to unredact and release others that have been held back illegally.

Three cycles ago, in May of 2024, it was the hush money trial that was underway, which resulted in his conviction on 34 counts of felony. That will pale in comparison with what might happen if all the Epstein material is released.

Keep in mind that this is a trecena that often places strong emphasis on issues associated with the planet itself, often serving as a kind of check-point with regard to global evolution. As seen in the past, the beginning of this trecena is one of the most important “trigger points” that seems to bring key issues into focus as it sets the stage for critically important actions that can have significant implications for large numbers of people. Aligned with Earth itself, this Kab’an trecena often coincides not only with radical shifts in world order, but with significant Earth-oriented shifts. Hopefully there won’t be any more earthquakes or aftershocks, but certainly there is much rescue work still to be done in northern Venezuela.

In the US, the mid point of this trecena will mark the 250th anniversary of the US Declaration of Independence, and millions will be stepping up to make a statement about whether or not they are willing to fight to keep their independence. Steve Schmidt’s recent article titled 1776 saw Trump Coming highlights many key questions and considerations in this regard. He notes that the real issue is whether “free citizens will govern themselves, or surrender that responsibility to men who insist they alone should rule.” As he put it:

America has always lived on the edge. The edge where liberty confronts greed. Where citizenship confronts corruption. Where courage confronts fear. Where the abyss waits patiently for enough people to stop paying attention. The generation of 1776 understood that freedom required sacrifice.

Schmidt underscored that for the generation of 2026 the questions are: “Will they rally around the Constitution? Will they defend the Republic? Will they rediscover the habits of self-government that transformed a fragile collection of colonies into a great constitutional republic? Or will they scatter in a hundred different directions, while those who crave power march together toward it?”

As always this would be an auspicious time to review one’s own personal journey in order to set the course and intent for the next 260 days. What will be your next “evolutionary leap” and how will you facilitate it? During this very critical time frame these are the energies that will come into play:

1 Kab’an (June 28th) – the “initiation of evolutionary movement”, the start of the fourth 52-day period within the 260 day Tzolk’in cycle, often a time when world-shifting – or even “out of this world” – movement can happen. This is the trecena that begins the 20th Tzolk’in cycle of the new era (since December 2012). As a key 52-day “shift-point” within the 260 day cycle, this is a force that often initiates dramatic and/or consequential movement with planetary significance – with emphasis on “planetary”.

As it happens, this particular One Kab’an day is marking two Calendar Rounds precisely since July 24, 1922 (Maya date One Kab’an 10 Sek, same as today), when the Palestine Mandate was confirmed by the Council of the League of Nations. This mandate gave Britain administrative governance over an area that would give Jewish people a national home in the region, without prejudicing the rights of non-Jewish people in Palestine. Will the return to these energies finally bring people to their senses – and stop the barbaric and seemingly interminable war in that region?

This particular One Kab’an day also happens to be the 107th Gregorian anniversary of the day in 1919 when the controversial but significant peace document known as The Treaty of Versailles was signed by Germany and the Allied Powers to officially end World War I. Moreover, this was also the energy in place in 1939 as German troops were assembling in preparation for their invasion of Poland, and again in 1940 when Germany began invading European countries, and then again in 1945 when Germany surrendered unconditionally, bringing an end to World War II.

Two cycles ago, in January of 2025, this was the energy in place on the chaotic, deeply catastrophic day for the US and planet Earth-at-large as the US Senate voted to confirm the least qualified individual ever to be nominated for the position of US Secretary of Defense – a staunch dumpster supporter who did not meet any of the requirements for that critical position, someone with no knowledge of the department, and someone known to be both an alchoholic and an abuser of women. And then that individual was let-loose on the Defense Department, which precipitated the mass firing of a large number of senior officers, including the chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, the chief of US Naval reserves and the commander of Naval Special Warfare Command, and the Director of the National Security Agency. Many other inane maneuvers followed, throwing the entire Defense Department into chaos. And then the dumpster started a war with Iran. . . .

This day is also marking three cycles since Day 14 of the hush money trial in 2024, when Stormy Daniels provided dramatic testimony centered around her 2006 encounter with the dumpster, which led to his conviction on 34 felony counts.

It has now been nine 260-day cycles since BREXIT Day in the UK and the end of an era in 2020, when the UK formally left the EU at 11 PM after 47 years of membership, to the deep regret of many, many people. As Jonathan Freedland commented, “Brexit makes no sense in a world dominated by Trump. Britain’s place is back in the EU.” Since then, more and more people are realizing that Brexit was not a great idea.

Currently this is Pride Festival parade day in many places, including Toronto, Chicago, New York, Seattle, and San Francisco. It is also the legendary comedian, filmmaker, writer/director Mel Brooks’ 100th Gregorian birthday. Happy birthday Mel!

2 Etz’nab’ (June 29th) – a dynamic “knife-edged” type of energy that can dazzle and/or divide and separate, at the time of the Full Strawberry Moon, now marking four cycles since the dumpster turned himself in, to be booked at the Fulton County jail in Georgia in August of 2023. He had already signed a $200,000 bond on racketeering charges that explicitly limited his ability to attack witnesses or his co-defendants in this case, including on social media.

In 2023 this was in place when Japan began releasing treated radioactive water from the tsunami-hit Fukushima nuclear plant into the Pacific Ocean, after the UN’s nuclear watchdog approved the plan. It was indicated that some 1.34 million tonnes of water, which has accumulated since the destruction of the plant by the tsunami in 2011, would be released over 30 years after being filtered and diluted.

3 Kawak (June 30th) – an “activating storm” or “activation of compassion” type of influence that can manifest as a true weather storm or a “storm” of compassion or emotion, as was the situation three cycles (780 days) ago, in May of 2024, when more than 100,000 Palestinians were forced to flee Rafah, Gaza’s southernmost city, after Israeli warnings to evacuate before an imminent military assault that would open a bloody new phase in the then-seven-month-long conflict.

Precisely one cycle after that, on 3 Kawak last October, both Israelis and Palestinians celebrated as the long awaited hostage and prisoner exchange took place between Israel and Hamas, which was seen, at that time, as a first step in a ceasefire that had the potential to permanently end the two-year conflict. Unfortunately, the hope for a permanent peace disintegrated as Israeli attacks continued.

That 3 Kawak day last October was the day when The Global Tipping Points report was released, that included contributions from 160 scientists from 87 institutions in 23 countries, stated that Earth has reached its first catastrophic tipping point linked to greenhouse gas emissions, with warm water coral reefs now facing a long-term decline and risking the livelihoods of hundreds of millions of people. The report warned that the world was also “on the brink” of reaching other tipping points, including the dieback of the Amazon, the collapse of major ocean currents and the loss of ice sheets. The very extreme heat being felt in Europe at this time provides further evidence of this critical global warming situation.

4 Ajaw (July 1st) – a “defining” energy associated with the full light of the sun, symbolic of renewal and enlightenment, the same “defining” Burner Day energy that coincided with Long Count 13.0.0.0.0, the end of the 13th B’aktun on Dec. 21st, 2012, the day in which a whole new Great Cycle of Time was “seated”. Currently this is the specific day that marks the completion of the 19th Tzolk’in cycle since Dec. 21st, 2012, and the beginning of the 20th cycle which will bring us to the completion of 5200 days (next March) since that beginning of a new era.

Two cycles ago, when the dumpster was about a week into his 2.0 “reign of terror”, historian David Motadel noted that world appeared to be at an historic watershed moment, marked by the global surge of autocratic powers and anti-democratic forces, major territorial conflicts, the climate crisis, and a new unpredictable industrial revolution fueled by artificial intelligence. He noted that historian Adam Tooze had dubbed it a ‘polycrisis’, and it was seen and felt as a very dark turn in history, the start of a whole new era of governmental corruption, lawlessness, unspeakable cruelty, and unfathomable authoritarianism that would continue to threaten global stability. He was so, so right, as US Senator Chris Murphy recently emphasized in his Senate floor speech where he provided a graphic overview of “500 Days of Corruption”. Indeed that 2025 “watershed moment” seemed like the opposite of what was felt back in 1945 when this energy brought forth the signing of the unconditional documents of surrender by German forces, that put an end to the “big lies” that Hitler had been promulgating in Germany, as it ushered in a whole new era of “light”, and new post-war possibilities.

And as much as it has been grim, ugly, horrendous, and downright devastating on many fronts over the past two cycles, there is a sense, at this point, that something is shifting – slowly perhaps, but shifting nonetheless. This Four Ajaw day may bring even more of a flickering of the light that is attempting to return. This is also coinciding with the 51st anniversary of the Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species of Wild Fauna and Flora (CITES) entering into force, the multilateral treaty to protect endangered plants and animals, ratified by over 180 countries.

Currently this is Canada Day, with “mainstage” celebrations taking place in Ottawa, and local events taking place all across the country. It is also the opening day of Kyoto’s Gion Matsuri, one of Japan’s most famous festivals, that spans the entire month of July. Its roots date back to 869 when the people of Kyoto held a festival to pray for respite from a plague that had befallen the city. It is still seen as a festival to prevent epidemics.

This would have been Princess Diana’s 65th Gregorian birthday. Had she lived, and not divorced Charles, she would have become the current Queen of England. Most assuredly there will be many tributes paid to her on this day as millions remember her. Her White Garden at Kensington Palace is evocative of the ocean of flowers that mourners placed all around the UK in her honor after her tragic death in 1997.

5 Imix (July 2nd) – the “blessing of birth”, representative of both “the realm of all potential” and chaos – an energy that is symbolic of the primordial realm, which contains “all possibilities”.

This is the deadline date set by U.S. District Judge Emmet Sullivan last week for the DOJ to comply with a preliminary injunction to release additional unredacted Epstein records, relating to media legal analyst Katie Phang’s lawsuit alleging that the department failed to comply with last year’s Epstein Act. So this will be a kind of “showdown day” – and the question becomes – “What will it open up?

This was the energy that was in place on that historic day in 1969 when Commander Neil Armstrong and lunar module pilot Buzz Aldrin became the first humans to set foot on the moon after landing the day before.

In 1945 this was the energy in place on VE day, when the world jubilantly celebrated the end of World War II in Europe and the beginning of peace. That was the day when Sir Winston Churchill reminded people that Britain was “the first to draw the sword against tyranny” . . . .when he said:

in the long years to come not only will the people of this island but of the world, wherever the bird of freedom chirps in human hearts, look back to what we’ve done and they will say “do not despair, do not yield to violence and tyranny, march straight forward and die if need be—unconquered”.

He would shudder to see what has become of the U.S. and the world at large over the past 10+ years.

Currently this marks ten Tzolk’in cycles since the inauguration of Volodymyr Zelenskyy as the president of Ukraine on May 20, 2019. It is also World UFO Day, with its goal of raising awareness about “the undoubted existence of UFOs”, whatever they are. There are many who may be looking to the skies about this time, for assistance from “elsewhere” to help bumbling (and often “clueless”) earthlings sort out the monumental messes that they have created.

6 Ik’ (July 3rd) – an “everywhere” type of energy associated with wind, breath, and spirit, In 1945 this was the energy in place when World War II officially ended, after Germany’s unconditional surrender on 4 Ajaw.

This day marks four 260-day cycles since the first hearing in the Jan. 6th case in the U.S., the day when Judge Chutkin announced the date for that trial. That took place exactly five cycles after voting day in the dumpster’s first impeachment trial, in early February, 2020. That was the day when then-Senator Mitt Romney spoke on the Senate floor, indicating that he planned to vote for the dumpster’s conviction, since the dumpster’s actions were a “most abusive and destructive violation of one’s oath of office”. As Romney put it: “what Trump did was wrong – grievously wrong” – he was “guilty of an appalling abuse of public trust”. Romney’s vote denied the dumpster unanimous GOP support for his acquittal, an acquittal that has been disastrous for democracy as those “appalling abuses of public trust” continued to escalate and infect that entire party. Romney managed to retire from politics with some sense of integrity intact, unlike most of the GOP sychophants who remained to do the dumpster’s bidding.

In Canada this is the opening day for the Calgary Stampede, billed as “the greatest outdoor show on Earth”. In the U.S., this is the deadline date for all signage to be restored to U.S. national Parks, after the dumpster tried to have the signage removed in order to change historical narratives. Fortunately, that directive was blocked.

7 Ak’b’al (July 4th) – a “self-generating” type of energy associated with the concept of “temple” or “house”, but also darkness or “sanctuary”, the energy that was in place at the time of Richard Nixon’s presidential win in 1968. Precisely five cycles later, in May of 1972, operatives working for the Committee to Re-elect the President (CRP) broke into the Democratic National Committee headquarters (the Watergate office complex) in Washington, DC and bugged the telephones of staffers. What happened after that, as the Watergate scandal broke and Nixon was eventually forced to resign, can now be seen as relatively mild compared with what has been happening with the “decree by whim” approach so often taken by the lawless, demented, convicted felon/sex-offender/insurrectionist currently occupying the White House. Disgustingly, just before this current trecena began, Vice-President Vance compared himself to Nixon and tried to downplay the seriousness of Watergate, in remarks that looked like an attempt to “normalize” presidential corruption.

Sadly, this is the atmosphere in place in the US as this day marks the 250th anniversary of the US Declaration of Independence. Normally this would have been a particularly celebrational Fourth-of-July Independence day in that country, but this year there is nothing “normal” about what has been happening in the U.S., as personal and societal freedoms have been severely and appallingly eroded by the dumpster and his administration. Like last year this will be another day of massive demonstrations, at the start of a weekend during which people across the US will hold a huge variety of Free America events, which will include “rallies, marches, block parties, banner drops, street parades, art builds, backyard BBQs, and dance protests”.

In an article related to preparations for this event, writer Harold Meyerson commented that

the Declaration is nothing if not a chronicle of monarchial violations of civilized norms. It held King George III responsible for “a long train of abuses and usurpations.” It said the king “has refused his Assent to Laws” (that is, refused to recognize the laws passed by colonial legislatures). He was responsible, it continued, “For taking away our Charters, abolishing our most valuable Laws, and altering fundamentally the Forms of our Governments.” These abrupt and unanswerable transfers of power from legally established colonial legislatures to the Crown were at the center of the Founders’ case for revolution.

Meyerson suggests that people should take the opportunity, on this occasion, “to make unmistakably clear which side honors, perpetuates, and renews the ‘Spirit of ’76’ and which side trashes it in the name of a tin-pot despot”.

8 K’an (July 5th) – a “resurrection” type of energy associated with germination and even opulence, coinciding at this time with Venezuela’s Independence Day (Cinco de Julio) and Armed Forces Day, on the 215th anniversary of its declaration of autonomy from Spanish rule. (Venezuela became the first independent country in South America.) Sadly, Venezuela is in deep mourning at this time, after the devastating earthquakes that rocked the country just a few days ago. Nearly 50,000 people were unaccounted for at the start of this trecena, and rescue workers are frantically working to try to find survivors, and to assess how to deal with the catastrophic destruction in Caracas and in its surrounding areas.

Note that this was the energy in place in early June back in 2009, when President Obama visited Cairo and proposed a new beginning between the United States and Muslims. In his words:

I’ve come here to Cairo to seek a new beginning between the United States and Muslims around the world, one based on mutual interest and mutual respect, and one based upon the truth that America and Islam are not exclusive and need not be in competition. Instead, they overlap, and share common principles — principles of justice and progress; tolerance and the dignity of all human beings.

SIGH!! Who could possibly have imagined how far the US would stray from this. Who could possibly have imagined that the US government would completely trash anything and everything related to this kind of idealism and cooperation. There is a LOT of re-building to be done, if the ship of state ever manages to get rid of the grime that now covers it.

9 Chikchan (July 6th) – representative of “outwardly-projecting” lifeforce, this is a powerful force that can spawn major weather events such as typhoons, and even push forth “evolutionary” events that can significantly impact the world, as happened when the First Women’s Rights Convention convened in New York in 1848. In 1970 this energy was in place at the time of the launch of Apollo 13.

This was the energy that was in place at the beginning of World War II when Germany invaded Poland in 1939, and again in 1944 when Paris was liberated by the Allies. In 1863, this was in place at the beginning of the horrific Battle of Gettysburg, seen as a turning point during the U.S. civil war, as the Confederate army was forced to retreat.

Two cycles ago, in early 2025, this was in place when the dumpster signed an illegal order to impose tariffs on Mexico, Canada, and China, which prompted immediate outrage. There was such an unprecedented seizure of power taking place on so many fronts at that time, including an effort to allow Musk and his cohorts access to the US Treasury operations, that many commented that there was a coup attempt underway in the US. Among many other things, an order was also given to pause all activities and events related to DEI across the US.

Ten cycles before that, in Dec. 2017, during Trump 1.0, Republicans shoved a massively unpopular tax bill through Congress, with no hearings, no Democratic support, no expert testimony, and no advance planning, in order to slash tax rates for corporations and provide huge benefits for the wealthy. It was a bill that provided the top 1% of Americans with 83% of the tax benefits and was projected to add $1.46 trillion to the U.S. debt over a decade. That was 9 years ago, long before the more recent “Big, Ugly Bill” that involved more massive giveaways for billionaires and large corporations while defunding many essential services and lifesaving programs like Medicaid and nutrition assistance, as well as defunding such things as environmental protection programs.

Currently this is the Dalai Lama’s 91st birthday. In Tibetan Buddhism, he is seen as a living manifestation of the Bodhisattva of Compassion, a global representation of peace. Although in exile from his spiritual home in Tibet, due to the cruel crackdown by China against Tibetan culture and religion, he remains the principal embodiment of everything related to those peace-oriented traditions. Happy birthday your Holiness.

This is also the opening day for Paris Fashion Week’s emphasis on Haute Couture.

10 Kimi (July 7th) – a double “absolute foundations” type of energy that is represented by the death god in both the number and daysign positions, now marking 14 long cycles since the dumpster was officially nominated as the Republican candidate for president at the RNC, in 2016. That should have been the first clue that the future for Republicans (and everyone else) was not looking promising!

This is now marking one cycle exactly since construction crews illegally began demolishing the East Wing of the White House – bringing it down to its foundations – without consultation with Congress or being in accordance with any construction protocols relating to US historical buildings, in order to make room for a tacky 90,000 sq. ft. ballroom. As political strategist Steve Schmidt said, about that act: “The obliteration of hallowed and historic grounds is a despicable act that stands apart as one of the most profoundly corrupt acts in American history” . . . “a moment of maximum abuse of power”, “a moment of deep, deep, deep danger”.

Similarly, this was to be the day, if the dumpster had not been stopped, when the Kennedy Center would have been shut down for “renovations”. However, like the ballroom plans, that plan has been blocked by a federal judge, essentially to prevent the dumpster from destroying yet another national edifice, as he had wantonly done with that East Wing and with the Lincoln Reflecting Pool – which he has essentially turned into “a swamp” – like everything else he touches.

Nine cycles ago (in February of 2020) this was the energy in place when the Antarctic registered a temperature of more than 20C (68F) for the first time, prompting fears of climate instability in the world’s greatest repository of ice. Since then, with climate deniers in high level positions in the US undercutting efforts to address climate change, things have gotten a lot worse, and millions are now sweltering (and sometimes dying) under unprecedented levels of relentless heat.

This is the day when NATO allies will be meeting for a summit in Ankara, Turkey, where they are expected to pledge billions of dollars in new arms contracts and weapons production. Despite the dumpster’s instability (and even browbeating), the allies are expected to reaffirm their commitment to the alliance’s Article 5 mutual defense clause, and to affirm their commitment to bolstering Ukraine with €70 billion in military support.

This is also Japan’s Star Festival (Tanabata) Day, World Chocolate Day, and rock legend Ringo Starr’s 86th birthday. Happy Birthday Ringo!

11 Manik’ (July 8th) – “inspirational deer”, a change-oriented day aligned with the idea of reciprocity and new possibilities, although there can be a sacrificial aspect to it. This is an energy that can be somewhat “fiery” since Manik’ is a “carrier” of the sun on Earth, with the number 11 also being highly Earth-aligned. Situated in a position of intensity near the end of this “earth-movement” trecena, this energy is representative of solar power in tandem with strong Earth-aligned forces. At this time this energy is coinciding with the opening of the 18th BRICS summit (Brazil, Russia, China, India, South Africa) in India. The theme for the summit is “Building Resilience and Innovation for Cooperation and Sustainability”. Given that the war with Ukraine is still raging, and is now into its 1,595th day, the question might be asked: “Just HOW is Russia going to carry through on the stated BRICS goal of promoting partnership and cooperation with regard to “political and security, economy and finance, and . . . cultural and humanitarian ties”?

At this time this energy is coinciding with the “seating” of the Maya month known as the Xul, symbolized by both a dog and a baby jaguar, but also traditionally associated with Kukulcan (known as Quetzalcoatl to the Aztec), the great Feathered Serpent, who was thought to descend from the heavens to collect offerings at the end of this Maya month. By extension, the combination of these symbols also suggests that the Classic Maya “Hero Twins” are also aligned with this month. As Xul can also translate as “end”, it might be interesting to see what kind of “endings” might be coming into view as this month-related (Xul) energy runs through to July 27th.

It is quite possible that this day could be quite “earth shaking” as it was one cycle ago with the release of the 400 page posthumous memoir of Virginia Giuffre, one of Jeffrey Epstein’s most prominent accusers. Giuffre had been working on Nobody’s Girl: A Memoir of Surviving Abuse and Fighting for Justice, with the award-winning author and journalist Amy Wallace before her death last year. And with a new push to get the remainder of the Epstein files released, even though the dumpster has been trying to thwart that release, it is possible that this could coincide with new developments in this momentous push for accountability with regard to that horrifically scandalous saga.

Nine cycles ago (Feb. of 2020, just as the pandemic was ramping up) this was the energy in place when a new, and terrifying, facet of the madness that has a chokehold on too many people in the US was revealed, when the Dump administration rolled out a budget that called for $1 trillion in cuts to Medicaid and the Affordable Care Act over a decade. This “plan” also sought to halve US funding for the World Health Organization, in addition to calling for deep cuts to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and to the Infectious Diseases Rapid Response Reserve Fund. And all that was long before the other disasters related to US Health services, courtesy of the madman who was placed in charge of all that.

On this day, this time, there will be a nationwide reading of the Declaration of Independence, as part of the “Sharing of the Spirit of America” initiative, involving simultaneous public readings at exactly 6:00 PM Eastern Daylight Time. The goal is to unite Americans in a shared moment of civic reflection.

12 Lamat (July 9th) – a double Venus type of force representative of the “grouping together” influence of the number 12 in combination with Lamat’s “heralding” type of energy, which often “signals” some critical development, suggesting the possibility that some kind of significant announcements could be made at this time.

At this time this is the 250th anniversary of the day in 1776 when the Declaration of Independence was read aloud in the streets of New York, when patriots toppled a statue of King George III and melted it down to create bullets to help them in their fight for independence. Steve Schmidt’s article about how 1776 saw Trump coming highlights the stark warnings that have filtered through to the present day. Similarly, it has now been one cycle precisely since Senator Jeff Merkley delivered a marathon 22 hours + 36 min. speech on the Senate floor, to make the case that the dumpster has “violating the law” through authoritarianism, posing the “biggest threats to our Republic since the civil war”. The Senate’s top Democrat, Chuck Schumer, referred to Merkley as the Paul Revere of 21st-century.

On the international front, note that it has now been two cycles exactly since the bizarre meeting between Netanyahu and the dumpster at the White House in early 2025, during which he vowed that the US would “take over” war ravaged Gaza and “own it”, claiming that Gaza could become the “Riviera of the Middle East”. And now comes the announcement that the “Board of Peace” that he established to “rebuild” Gaza is planning a sweeping grant of legal immunity for itself, (as reported by the Guardian on June 27th). The draft language would let the organization obtain public property in Gaza “free of charge”.

It has also been two cycles since the announcement that the pace of global heating had been significantly underestimated – and now many countries in Europe are suffering through one of the most intense heat waves ever recorded.

This is the Maya birth energy of E. Jean Carroll, who has been awarded over $83 million in her epic battle for justice in her long, protracted lawsuit against the dumpster for sexual abuse and defamation. Although a federal appeals court has upheld the judgment against him, his appeal to the US Supreme Court has been “rescheduled” 15 times.

13 Muluk (July 10th) – “transformational water” – an energetic, often dramatic, type of energy that can trigger strong feelings and stir environmental forces which have, on occasion in the past, developed into floods, tornadoes, and even hurricanes. This is the 86th Gregorian anniversary of the start of the horrendous Battle of Britain.

When this was in place two cycles ago the leader of the largest union for federal employees in the US warned a congressional committee that Trump’s campaign to dramatically downsize the government amounted to “the biggest assault” on the federal workforce in American history. On that same day hundreds of thousands of people took part in major Indivisible protests in 50 states, after the shock announcement the evening before that the US Agency for International Development (USAid) was being shut down.

It has now been 14 trauma-laced cycles since the July 2016 Wikileaks release of documents stolen by Russian hackers from the DNC (and called for by the dumpster), intended to hurt Hillary Clinton, which triggered the torrent of speculation that ultimately resulted in Clinton’s loss in that 2016 election – and all the political chaos that has happened ever since.

Currently this is the opening day for the Global Woman Summit in London, and for those who really want to escape, this is the opening day for the three-day Atlin Arts & Music Festival in northern B.C.

This is also the formal release date for The Rolling Stones 25th album, titled Foreign Tongues. (Mick Jagger ‘s 83rd birthday is coming up on July 26th. Rock on Mick!!)
