Maya Count Of Days Horoscope

Maya Calendar Energies At Work In The World

The Maya date was 4 Ajaw 3 K’ank’in, equivalent to Dec. 21, 2012 – not the “end” of the calendar, but the completion of the 13th Bak’tun, a key date that marked the beginning of a new Great Cycle of Time. As always, the energies encoded in the calendar continue on. As described in Manual for the Soul, A Guide to the Energies of Life, the 260 day cycle that forms the foundation for the Maya Calendar is comprised of 20 trecenas (weeks), each containing 13 days, each of which represents a unique energy with a very special meaning. These energies as they manifest, at work and at play, are the focus of this blog.

Do you remember how you felt at the beginning of this year – with Christmas behind you and the darkness of early January closing in? Many people just wanted to “hunker down” and rest, recuperate from the holidays, and regroup. That was 260 days (one Tzolk’in cycle) ago, and here we are again, working with the same energies for the Read the full article…

Early September, and there’s that “something” in the air – a hint of the impending change in seasons, the anticipation of returning to classes or to work, the uncertainties and expectancies associated with the possibility of having to adapt to something new. And, as this is going on, we find the Ok (Dog) trecena in place to carry us through Read the full article…

As this Kab’an (Earth/Movement) trecena begins, thousands of people will be in the midst of “red light” skies or noticing intense red sunsets. In some places even the sun and the moon will appear red, due to the density of the smoke being spewed forth from raging wildfires. In many, many places Mother Earth is on fire and particles of Read the full article…

After traversing a trecena that brought both extreme heat and massive floods to many parts of the world, we come to a sequence of days that are still part of the mythological “creation” sequence, tied in with the previous trecena, but with an emphasis that leans more towards Germination – the early stages of sprouting new possibilities. This trecena opens Read the full article…

The end of July, the end of a month that has been recorded as being the hottest on record, bringing temperatures that temporarily exceeded the 1.5°C threshold set by the Paris Agreement. As this trecena begins, a ring of fire encircles the Mediterranean, with wildfires spread across nine countries; the heat dome across the southern U.S. remains in place; and Read the full article…

Severe thunderstorm and flood warnings, more intense heat, entertainment industry strikes, high level trials, and the possibility of further high level indictments – all this, and much more, appears to be on the agenda for this Etz’nab’ trecena, as we head into mid July. Given that this tends to be a time frame when “sparks can fly”, it is likely Read the full article…

As we embark on the third 52 day period within the 260 day cycle, it’s early summer and in many places it is already blistering hot – both literally and figuratively. Last week it was reported that large parts of Texas were hotter than 99% of the planet, and the thick smoke from wildfires in eastern Canada continue to contribute Read the full article…

While there were few signs of it at the beginning of the last trecena, apart from many major “firestorms”, the “storm” theme eventually clicked into gear in a big way over the past few days with major cyclones, tornadoes, and destructive hailstorms all being unleashed. And in a large swath of southeastern Ukraine the devastating flooding caused by Russia’s destruction Read the full article…

Storm – this is a word that conjures up images of thunderstorms, lighting flashes, and high winds blowing things around. And that is exactly what generally happens in many areas during this time frame, which is prone to bringing forth typhoons, hurricanes, and other such dramatic events. While heavy rains and possibly thunderstorms, indeed, have been predicted for southern Australia Read the full article…

In the UK over the past year there has been a considerable amount of pageantry. In early June of 2022 a very special 4-day Platinum Jubilee celebration was held, with hundreds of parading soldiers, horses, and musicians, special performances, tributary events in Commonwealth countries, and exceptional exhibitions that highlighted aspects of Queen Elizabeth’s life and seven decade reign. Then, three Read the full article…
