Poised and on the edge – ready for mass movement . . . . that was the position of millions of people just before the start of this “movement” oriented trecena. Millions of people in Gaza beginning their arduous journeys back to their homes, or what is left of them (if anything) after the ceasefire; millions of people in the US (and globally) preparing for one of the largest-ever push-back protests against authoritarianism; millions speaking out in the US against the government shutdown, mass firings, and military occupations of their cities. And tens of thousands of people working tirelessly to find ways to deliver food, water, medical supplies, and shelter supplies into Gaza, assuming the ceasefire agreement holds.

But then “Movement” – significant movement – is the hallmark of the Kab’an trecena, a trecena that often brings forth “evolutionary” shifts relating to life on Earth. The very first day of this time period coincides with the start of the fourth 52-day period within the 260-day cycle, an important shift-point within the overall sequence of days – a point that can even usher in new eras. And it is quickly becoming evident that huge shifts are in the works.

The fact that the symbol for Kab’an was incorporated into the center of the 25 ton Aztec Calendar Stone, one of Mesoamerica’s most recognizable treasures, now housed in Mexico City’s National Anthropology Museum, offers testimony to the importance of this energy.

That hieroglyph, embedded with a rather fierce-looking face, represents “Movement” and the pulsating, cyclical nature of time. The face in the centre of the stone is thought to be that of the solar deity Tonatiuh, representing the connection between the sun and those cyclical movements.

Back in 2021 evolutionary biologist Bret Weinstein wrote an article titled “How the sun could wipe us out”. The article begins with the statement that “the world began to end on 12th May 2024 . . . .”. Although this controversial writer was speaking about solar emissions, bursts of charged plasma from the sun, it is intriguing to see how the days that he mentioned tie in with this particular trecena. He begins by mentioning May 9th, 2024, which was One Kab’an, the first day of this trecena, exactly two cycles ago, the day when the sun emitted a particularly large solar flare. Three days later (May 12th) was 4 Ajaw, when an even larger blast was emitted, followed by an intense geomagnetic storm that sent forth several stronger bursts over the following few days, all within this trecena. Note, as well that 4 Ajaw is the energy that began this new Maya Calendar era, on Dec. 21, 2012, after completion of the previous era that began in 3114 BC. Currently we are embarking on the nineteenth 260-day Tzolk’in cycle since that change-over to the new era.

While that “coincidence” was all about the sun, where the writer was speaking about the potential for strong plasma bursts to trigger “a cascade of devastating failures from which humanity will never recover”, there are other parallels that eerily tie in with this. Indeed, two cycles ago this trecena not only brough forth intense heat waves, fire events, and war related events, but also intense activity within the US justice system, as boundaries were being tested through political indictments and within the courts as the criminal hush-money trial was unfolding. At one point Judge Merchan warned that they were “on the precipice” of putting the dumpster-as-defendant in jail if there were any more breaches of the gag order that had been imposed upon him.

Note that one of the first major tests of the system came eight cycles ago, in 2020, during his first impeachment trial, relating to “appalling abuses of public trust” and an “abusive and destructive violation of [his] oath of office”. But he was acquitted by Republicans, who have spinelessly continued to support him “no matter what”, to the point where a mere one cycle after being criminally convicted, he was back in the White House, issuing wrecking-ball orders that have continuously endangered (and, in many cases, destroyed) the lives and well-being of millions of people, after several other high-level indictments were dropped because of the Supreme Court’s ruling on the “infallibility” of the U.S. president. Indeed, this was the first full trecena in place earlier this year (late January-early February) when “all hell broke loose” after his inauguration.

During that period the U.S., and by extension Earth itself, began a new era of upheaval, a new era of callousness, heartlessness, and lawlessness – a new era of the unrestrained abuse of power and excess, a new “time of testing” for almost everything, including legal systems, as revoltingly selfish private gain and diabolical personal vendettas drive the agenda and stand in the way of constructively addressing significant humanitarian or global issues that are in dire need of attention.

As reflected in the Aztec hieroglyph that depicts the kind of push-pull motion that will determine the direction of evolution, forces were amalgamating on each side of that equation during that period.

And now, after one full cycle of mind-boggling chaos, cruelty, incompetence, hypocrisy, and lawlessness, with the U.S. government shut down and widespread government grift (and perversion) in plain sight, and with even the US army being used against American cities, the nature of the forces pushing against one another is clear. And this trecena is set to bring that divide into even sharper contrast, as the world waits to see if the Gaza-Israeli ceasefire will hold, waits to see if the aid that is so greatly needed in Gaza will be allowed to move forward, waits to see what kind of effect the enormous push-back protests in the US will yield, and waits to see what kind of push-back will be forthcoming to the massive attacks that are still taking place against Ukraine.

From the perspective of Aztec mythology, the overseer of this Kab’an trecena was seen as Tlazoltéotl, the “Great Mother Goddess”, known as the “Eater of Filth”, who was associated with forgiveness and purification. She was seen not only as a fertility goddess who worked with major generative forces, but also as an entity who conducted confessional rites. These “confession” + “life generation” aspects can be seen in the tendency for events within this period to be, oftentimes, world-shaping in nature, in terms of both major endings as well as the emergence of new beginnings in association with issues that are often of an “earth-shaking” nature. While “boundary testing” often plays out during this period, energy returns relating to many consequential events from the past can often be detected.

Note that back in 1492 this was the trecena that saw the departure of Christopher Columbus from Spain en route westward across the Atlantic, following the dictates of the Catholic “Doctrine of Discovery” that stated that any land not inhabited by Christians was available to be “discovered”, claimed, and exploited by Christian rulers. Thus began the events that led to the promulgation of the BIG LIE that Columbus discovered a “New World”, filled with “savages”, that was there for the taking. Although that doctrine was rescinded on the first day of this trecena in 1537, it appears that the message did not reach many people as the atrocities continued on for centuries after that. Note that Columbus Day, a controversial observance, begun in 1792, to commemorate Christopher Columbus’s landing in the “new world” in 1492, is now celebrated as Indigenous People’s Day (aka Native American Day) in at least 12 states in the U.S. and is celebrated in many ways that honour indigenous nations (rather than Columbus) in many other countries (see 2 Etz’nab’, below)

During the mid 20th century this trecena has often been pivotal in terms of major conflicts, as seen in 1939 as German troops were assembling in preparation for their invasion of Poland just after Germany and the USSR signed a 10-yr. non-aggression pact. One cycle later, Germany began its blitzkrieg on Europe through its invasion of Holland, Belgium, and Luxembourg, the first stage in the Battle of France, on the first day of this trecena. At that time the British government was in disarray – on what has been seen as one of the most dramatic days in British history, British Prime Minister Neville Chamberlain resigned and Winston Churchill was appointed as Prime Minister. Several years later, this trecena brought forth the signing of the unconditional documents of surrender of the German forces, finally bringing World War II to an end, in May of 1945. The horror of that global conflict had spanned seven Tzolk’in cycles.

Four cycles ago, in December of 2022, the first day of this trecena coincided with the opening of the COP15 summit, as thousands of government officials, scientists, and activists representing 196 countries gathered in Montreal for the world’s most important biodiversity conference. That was the day when Trump’s New York company was convicted of fraud after being found guilty on all 17 counts, including conspiracy charges and falsifying business records. On that same day Raphael Warnock won the heated runoff election in Georgia, to decide Georgia’s representative for the U.S. Senate. His win helped Democrats to solidify their Senate majority in 2023. This time a newly-elected member of the US House of Representatives, Adelita Grijalva, is due to be sworn in, which will provide enough signatures to prompt the release of the highly controversail Epstein files – a situation that Republicans have been frantically trying to avoid. Note, as well, that a 400 page posthumous memoir related to that very scandal is also due to be released during this period, so all-in-all the situation could be seen as an already-lit bombshell that is imminently ready to explode.

When this trecena opened two cycles ago, in May of 2024, it marked Day 14 of the hush money trial, as Stormy Daniels took the stand for a second time and gave nearly seven hours of dramatic testimony centered around her 2006 sexual encounter with the dumpster, which led to his conviction of sexual assault and defamation. That will pale in comparison with what might happen if all the Epstein material is released.

Keep in mind that this is a trecena that often places strong emphasis on issues associated with the planet itself, often serving as a kind of check-point with regard to global evolution. As seen in the past, the beginning of this trecena is one of the most important “trigger points” that seems to bring key issues into focus as it sets the stage for critically important actions that can have significant implications for large numbers of people. Aligned with Earth itself, this Kab’an trecena often coincides not only with radical shifts in world order, but with significant Earth-oriented shifts, so expect to see a great deal of movement on multiple fronts during this period – including in conjunction with mid October festivals such as Canadian Thanksgiving, the Alebrejes parade in Mexico City at the start of Day of the Dead season, and light-filled Diwali.

As always this would be an auspicious time to review one’s own personal journey in order to set the course and intent for the next 260 days. What will be your next “evolutionary leap” and how will you facilitate it? During this very critical time frame these are the energies that will come into play:

1 Kab’an (Oct. 11th) – the “initiation of evolutionary movement”, the start of the fourth 52-day period within the 260 day Tzolk’in cycle, often a time when world-shifting – or even “out of this world” – movement can happen. This is the trecena that begins the 19th Tzolk’in cycle of the new era (since December 2012). As a key 52-day “shift-point” within the 260 day cycle, this is a point that often initiates dramatic and/or consequential movement with planetary significance – with emphasis on “planetary”.

And indeed, the last time this was in place, last January 24th, it was an absolutely chaotic, deeply catastrophic day for the US and planet Earth at large as that was the day when the US Senate voted to confirm the least qualified individual ever to be nominated for the position of US Secretary of Defense – someone who did not meet any of the requirements for that critical position, someone with no knowledge of the department, no experience running an organization anywhere near this size, and someone known to be both an alchoholic and an abuser of women. But since the Senate could not even muster up a minimum of four Republicans with enough gumption to veto this nomination, this individual was let-loose on the Defense Department, and that department and the security of that country as a whole (and the free world at large) has been in very grave danger ever since. In May of this year there was a 20% reduction in the number of four-star officers at the Pentagon, followed by a 20% reduction in the number of general officers in the National Guard, and another 10% reduction in officers across the military. Among the senior officers who have been illegally fired from the department without cause were: the chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, the chief of US Naval reserves and the commander of Naval Special Warfare Command, and the Director of the National Security Agency. Through such cuts, and many inane maneuvers, the entire Defense Department (now illegally termed the “Department of War”) has been thrown into a state of “total chaos”.

As noted above, this was the energy in place in 1939 as German troops were assembling in preparation for their invasion of Poland, and again in 1940 when Germany began invading European countries, and then in 1945 when Germany surrendered unconditionally, bringing an end to World War II. Currently, if the plans for the “first phase” of the peace plan between Israel and Hamas holds, this could be the day when the 20 remaining hostages are released by Hamas, and Israel could withdraw from Gaza. That would certainly be in keeping with One Kab’an’s nature.

However, it cannot be forgotten that this day is marking a mere one cycle since last January when the US Department of Justice was thrown into disarray after the mass release, on Jan. 21st, of Jan. 6th rioters. As this trecena began last January, the US Department of Health and Communications was in chaos as the dumpster worked to halt and muzzle scientists and medical services and related personnel across the country; the US State Department was in disarray as a funding freeze was ordered on almost all US foreign, life-saving aid; 18 independent watchdogs at multiple US government agencies were fired, and an “all out assault on civil rights” was gearing up.

And through it all, even though Democrats have been calling for the Defense Secretary’s resignation and sounding “five-alarm fire” alerts, the Republicans “in charge” have continued to bury their heads in the sand, pulling the country’s essential services, economy, defenses, and world reputation down with them. Similarly, it cannot be forgotten that this is Day 11 of a government shutdown in the U.S., with the Speaker of the House keeping members of the House out of session, partially out of fear that some members will vote with Democrats to get the Epstein files released. Is anyone – anywhere – feeling “safer” these days, with such toady morons in charge????

This day is also marking two cycles since Day 14 of the hush money trial in 2024, when Stormy Daniels provided dramatic testimony centered around her 2006 encounter with the dumpster, which led to his conviction on 34 felony counts. That was also the day when WAPO reported about the quid pro quo propositions made by the dumpster to dismantle fossil fuel regulations in exchange for $1 billion in contributions to his presidential campaign.

It has now been eight 260-day cycles since BREXIT Day in the UK and the end of an era in 2020, when the UK formally left the EU at 11 PM after 47 years of membership, to the deep regret of many, many people. As Jonathan Freedland has commented, “Brexit makes no sense in a world dominated by Trump. Britain’s place is back in the EU.”

Currently this is:
• The UN’s International Day of the Girl, marking the 14th anniversary of the celebration of this day that promotes the human rights of the girl child in all areas, and helps to support their development. The theme this year is “The girl I am, the change I lead”
• National Coming Out Day
• “Let Freedom Read” Day, the final day of Banned Books Week
• World Migratory Bird Day, the second of two this year, with this one celebrated in Mexico
• The day of the MSNBC LIVE25 event in New York

2 Etz’nab’ (Oct. 12th) – a dynamic “knife-edged” type of energy that can dazzle and/or divide and separate, coinciding with the opening of the three-day World Health Summit in Berlin, under the theme “Taking Responsibility for Health in a Fragmenting World” (WHS 2025). Considering what is happening in the U.S., with the disassembly of so many health care programs and services, the idea of “taking responsibility” seems to be problematic for those currently in charge.

In the U.S. this is Columbus Day, a controversial observance, begun in 1792, to   commemorate Christopher Columbus’s landing in the “new world” in 1492. Since it has now been estimated that over 100 million people inhabited those regions at the time of that 1492 landing, the absurdity of that “new world” claim can now be seen quite clearly. For this reason this day is now celebrated as Indigenous People’s Day (aka Native American Day) in at least 12 states, as well as in Washington, DC, with this year’s theme being: “Indigenous Peoples’ Right to Self-Determination: A Pathway for Food Security and Sovereignty”. Indeed, in 2021 President Biden issued a proclamation officially commemorating Indigenous Peoples’ Day, becoming the first US president to do so. However – you guessed it – just a few days before this trecena began, the dumpster turned around and negated that, reverting it back to Columbus Day.

In Spain this is celebrated as Hispanic Day, a national public holiday that commemorates the legacy of Spain worldwide, particularly the “claiming for Spain” of the Americas. In many places this is known as El Día de la Raza (“The Day of the Race”), a day to highlight the heritage and cultural diversity of Latin Americans wherever they live and to recognize their resistance to the infiltration of Europeans. In Mexico this is now known as the “Day of the Pluricultural Nation”. Peru celebrates this as “Indigenous Peoples and Intercultural Dialogue Day”, and Uruguay celebrates it as the “Day of the Americas”. In Venezuela and in Belize it is specifically known as El Día de la Resistencia Indigena (The Day of Indigenous Resistance).

This now marks three cycles since the dumpster turned himself in, to be booked at the Fulton County jail in Georgia in August of 2023. He had already signed a $200,000 bond on racketeering charges that explicitly limited his ability to attack witnesses or his co-defendants in this case, including on social media.

In 2023 this was in place when Japan began releasing treated radioactive water from the tsunami-hit Fukushima nuclear plant into the Pacific Ocean, after the UN’s nuclear watchdog approved the plan. It was indicated that some 1.34 million tonnes of water, which has accumulated since the destruction of the plant by the tsunami in 2011, would be released over 30 years after being filtered and diluted.

3 Kawak (Oct. 13th) – an “activating storm” or “activation of compassion” type of influence that can manifest as a true weather storm or a “storm” of compassion or emotion, coinciding with the start of Geneva Peace Week (Oct. 13-17), and the UN’s International Day for Disaster Reduction. On this day an international summit, involving more than 20 world leaders, will be held in Egypt, to discuss the overall process of ending the war in Gaza.

This is Thanksgiving Day in Canada, and the final day of the Judeo/Christian Feast of the Tabernacles, aka Sukkot, the Jewish holiday that began on Oct. 6th.

This marks beginning of Anti-Slavery Week  that runs until Oct. 19th. On this day the 3rd Global Summit on Gravitation, Astrophysics and Cosmology opens in Dubai, UAE.

It has now been two cycles (520 days) since more than 100,000 Palestinians were forced to flee Rafah, Gaza’s southernmost city, in May, 2024, after Israeli warnings to evacuate before an imminent military assault that would open a bloody new phase in the then-seven-month-long conflict. How many of them are still alive, or in one piece, as this ceasefire comes into effect?

4 Ajaw (Oct. 14th) – a “defining” energy associated with the full light of the sun, symbolic of renewal and enlightenment, the same “defining” Burner Day energy that coincided with Long Count 13.0.0.0.0, the end of the 13th B’aktun on Dec. 21st, 2012, the day in which a whole new Great Cycle of Time was “seated”. Currently this day is coinciding with an important Tun Shift in the Maya Long Count calendar, as the Long Count clicks over to 13.0.13.0.0., marking the completion of the 18th Tzolk’in cycle since Dec. 21st, 2012, and the beginning of the 19th cycle.

When this energy was last in place, in late January, several people spoke about being at a turning point in history. President Biden said that it was “an inflection point” – the post cold-war era was over and a new era was beginning (Trump 2.0). Historian David Motadel noted that the world appeared to be at an historic watershed moment, marked by the global surge of autocratic powers and anti-democratic forces, major territorial conflicts, the climate crisis, and a new unpredictable industrial revolution fueled by artificial intelligence. He noted that it was a moment that historian Adam Tooze dubbed as a ‘polycrisis’. Many bizarre and insane things happened at that time, including the dumpster’s ending of DEI in the military, the furloughing of about 60 senior career officials at the US Agency for International Development, and the cutting back of banking regulators.

This was seen and felt as a very dark turn in history – the opposite of what was seen back in 1945 when this energy brought forth the signing of the unconditional documents of surrender by German forces, that put an end to the “big lies” that Hitler had been promulgating in Germany, as it ushered in a whole new era of “light”, and new post-war possibilities. But it seems that much has been forgotten in that regard, as this new era of governmental corruption, lawlessness, and authoritarianism continues to threaten global stability.

Currently this is the deadline date given by the US Court of Appeals for any appeal to be made relating to this court’s ruling that the dumpster had exceeded his power by invoking “emergency powers to impose tariffs” on goods from other countries. No matter what the ultimate ruling may be on this issue, it will have global implications.

5 Imix (Oct. 15th) – the “blessing of birth”, representative of both “the realm of all potential” and chaos – an energy that is symbolic of the primordial realm, which contains “all possibilities”.  This was the energy that was in place on that historic day in 1969 when Commander Neil Armstrong and lunar module pilot Buzz Aldrin became the first humans to set foot on the moon after landing the day before.

In 1945 this was the energy in place on VE day, when the world jubilantly celebrated the end of World War II in Europe and the beginning of peace. Currently this marks nine Tzolk’in cycles since the inauguration of Volodymyr Zelenskyy as the president of Ukraine on May 20, 2019.

Currently, however, if the US government shutdown is still going on, active duty troops will begin missing paychecks. Could this be a push too far by the current administration?

6 Ik’ (Oct. 16th) – an “everywhere” type of energy associated with wind, breath, and spirit, marking five years since the WHO declared a global health emergency relating to Covid-19. By that time the coronavirus had spread to at least 16 countries globally, including Thailand, France, the US, and Australia. In 1945 this was the energy in place when World War II officially ended, after Germany’s unconditional surrender on 4 Ajaw.

Currently this is the UN’s World Food Day, one of the most celebrated days of the UN, commemorating the 80th anniversary of the founding of the UN’s Food and Agricultural Organization. Hundreds of events will take place globally at this time to promote worldwide awareness and action with regard to global hunger and food-related needs – needs which are so profound in places such as Gaza, Ukraine, Lebanon, Sudan, and everywhere where people are oppressed or in conflict. This is also –
• World Anaesthesia Day, commemorating the first successful use of anaesthesia in 1846 and honouring the work done by anaesthesiologists, with the focus this year being on “Anaesthesiology in Health Emergencies”
• the day for Great ShakeOut Earthquake Drills
• opening of The International Conference on Gender, Sexuality and Diversity Studies in Amsterdam

This day marks three 260-day cycles since the first hearing in the Jan. 6th case in the U.S., the day when Judge Chutkin announced the date for that trial. That took place exactly five cycles after voting day in the dumpster’s first impeachment trial, in early February, 2020. That was the day when Senator Mitt Romney spoke on the Senate floor, indicating that he planned to vote for the dumpster’s conviction, since Trump’s actions were a “most abusive and destructive violation of one’s oath of office”. As Romney put it: “what Trump did was wrong – grievously wrong” – he was “guilty of an appalling abuse of public trust”. Romney’s vote denied the dumpster unanimous GOP support for his acquittal, an acquittal that has been disastrous for democracy as those “appalling abuses of public trust” continued to escalate and infect that entire party.

7 Ak’b’al (Oct. 17th) – a “self-generating” type of energy associated with the concept of “temple” or “house”, but also darkness or “sanctuary”, the energy that was in place at the time of Richard Nixon’s presidential win in 1968. Precisely five cycles later, in May of 1972, operatives working for the Committee to Re-elect the President (CRP) broke into the Democratic National Committee headquarters (the Watergate office complex) in Washington, DC and bugged the telephones of staffers. What happened then is relatively mild compared with what has been happening these days with the “decree by whim” approach being taken by the lawless, demented, convicted felon/sex-offender/insurrectionist currently occupying the White House.

Currently this is the UN’s International Day for the Eradication of Poverty, with this year’s theme being “Ending social and institutional maltreatment by ensuring respect and effective support for families”. This is also the start of the Jasper Dark Sky Festival that runs through until Oct. 26th.

In India this is the celebrational day of Govatsa Dwadashi (aka Bachh Baras), a festival dedicated to offering gratitude to calves and cows for their help in sustaining human life. In Hindu mythology cows are regarded not only as manifestations of the divine, but as symbols of fertility and abundance. On this day they will be adorned with flower garlands and given special attention. This is a day often associated with fasting, the cleansing of sins, and the payment of debts.

This is the Maya birth energy of the celebrated Oneida actor Graham Greene, well known for his Oscar-nominated role in Dances With Wolves, and recipient of the Order of Canada. He passed just a few weeks ago, on 13 Kab’an – Sept. 1st.

8 K’an (Oct. 18th) – a “resurrection” type of energy associated with germination and even opulence, coinciding at this time with Anti-Slavery day in the U.S., when massive No Kings 2.0 (No Thrones No Crowns No Kings) rallies will take place nationwide. When No Kings 1.0 was held last June there were over 2,000 protests in the U.S. and many in other countries (overall, 2169 protests in 29 countries). There is a strong push to double the number of participants this time, with the goal for the turn-out being at least 10 million people. As this is the Maya birth energy of cell-phone inventor Martin Cooper, this would be a great time to use those phones to get people out to protest.

In Canada this is National Healthcare Aide Day, first created in Manitoba, and Persons Day in commemoration of the historic day in 1929 when women were included in the legal definition of “persons”.

In Mexico City this is the day for the Alebrijes Parade, a parade of colourful and monumental alebreijes made by craftspeople from different parts of the country, at the start of Mexico’s 16-day Day of the Dead celebrations. An exhibition of these works will continue in Mexico City from this day to Nov. 3rd. And for those who prefer to be frightened, the Zombie March will also take place at this time.

This is also the first of five days of Diwali, the highly popular Hindu festival of light that celebrates the victory of “light over darkness, good over evil, and knowledge over ignorance”. On this first day of Diwali, known as Dhanteras, the goddess Lakshmi is the focus of much attention. As a goddess of prosperity, good fortune, wisdom, light, and spiritual rejuvenation, Lakshmi is one of the principal deities to preside over this “Day of Fortune”, seen as a good day to purchase gold and other metals. Lord Dhanwantari, a Hindu deity associated with Ayurvedic medicine, is also honoured at this time.

9 Chikchan (Oct. 19th) – representative of “outwardly-projecting” lifeforce, this is a powerful force that can spawn major weather events such as typhoons, and even push forth “evolutionary” events that can significantly impact the world, as happened when the First Women’s Rights Convention convened in New York in 1848. In 1970 this energy was in place at the time of the launch of Apollo 13.

The last time this was in place (last Feb. 1st) the dumpster signed an illegal order to impose tariffs on Mexico, Canada, and China, which prompted immediate outrage. There was such an unprecedented seizure of power taking place on so many fronts at that time, including an effort to allow Musk and his cohorts access to the U.S. operations, that many commented that there was a coup attempt underway in the U.S. Among many other things, an order was also given to pause all activities and events related to DEI across the U.S.

This was the energy that was in place at the beginning of World War II when Germany invaded Poland in 1939, and again in 1944 when Paris was liberated by the Allies. In 1863, this was in place at the beginning of the horrific Battle of Gettysburg, seen as a turning point during the U.S. civil war, as the Confederate army was forced to retreat.

Eleven cycles ago (in Dec. 2017, during Trump 1.0) Republicans shoved a massively unpopular tax bill through Congress, with no hearings, no Democratic support, no expert testimony, and no advance planning, in order to slash tax rates for corporations and provide huge benefits for the wealthy. It was a bill that provided the top 1% of Americans with 83% of the tax benefits and was projected to add $1.46 trillion to the U.S. debt over a decade. That was 8 years ago, long before the more recent “Big, Ugly Bill” that involved more massive giveaways for billionaires and large corporations while defunding many essential services and lifesaving programs like Medicaid and nutrition assistance, as well as defunding such things as environmental protection programs.

Currently this is the final day of Anti-Slavery Week, and the second day of Diwali, known as Naraka Chaturdasi (Day of Knowledge), associated with the triumph of good over evil. In India beautiful rangolis made of materials such as coloured rice, sand, or flower petals are made at this time. In Nepal this is the start of the 5-day Tihar Festival of Lights (similar to Diwali).

10 Kimi (Oct. 20th) – a double “absolute foundations” type of energy that is represented by the death god in both the number and daysign positions, now marking 13 long cycles since the dumpster was officially nominated as the Republican candidate for president at the RNC, in 2016. That should have been the first clue that the future for Republicans (and everyone else) was not looking promising!

Eight cycles ago (in February of 2020) this was the energy in place when the Antarctic registered a temperature of more than 20C (68F) for the first time, prompting fears of climate instability in the world’s greatest repository of ice. But since the destructor-in-chief in the U.S. has withdrawn the U.S. from the Paris Climate Agreement, for a second time, even though devastating climate change disasters are taking place regularly in the U.S., the rest of the world knows that the US cannot be trusted to do its share to help in the battle against climate change.

Currently this is World Statistics Day (held every 5 years), which is celebrating 80 years of achievements in sustainable development. The theme this year is “Quality statistics and data for everyone.”

This is the third (and most significant) of the five days of Diwali, a time when festival lanterns and lights are set out everywhere to welcome Lakshmi, India’s goddess of happiness, wealth, and good fortune, into homes and other buildings. Lord Ganesha is also honoured at this time.

In addition, this is the day of the Tihar Festival in Nepal known as the Kukur Puja, the “Day of the Dogs”, when dogs are decked out with garlands, given special treats, and thanked for their faithful service, including their service in helping to provide a safe passage for departed souls on their journey to Heaven. This is a good day to celebrate your own Kukur Tihar with any four legged friend who specializes in bringing joy to the world.

This is the peak viewing time (through to the following morning) for the Orionids meteor shower which was created from debris from the famous Halley’s comet.

11 Manik’ (Oct. 21st) – “inspirational deer”, a change-oriented day aligned with the idea of reciprocity and new possibilities, although there can be a sacrificial aspect to it. This is an energy that can be somewhat “fiery” since Manik’ is a “carrier” of the sun on Earth, with the number 11 also being highly Earth-aligned. Situated in a position of intensity near the end of this “earth-movement” trecena, this energy is representative of solar power in tandem with strong Earth-aligned forces, now aligning with continuation of the Orionids Meteor Shower and the fourth day of Diwali, dedicated to Lord Krishna. This is also a day in the Diwali tradition to express appreciation and respect towards Mother Nature, which ties in well with 11 Manik’.

It is quite possible that this day will be quite “earth shaking” as this is the release day for the 400 page posthumous memoir of Virginia Giuffre, one of Jeffrey Epstein’s most prominent accusers. Giuffre had been working on Nobody’s Girl: A Memoir of Surviving Abuse and Fighting for Justice, with the award-winning author and journalist Amy Wallace before her death earlier this year. And since there is a strong push now for the long-awaited release of the Epstein files, this is likely to be a milestone moment with regard to that scandalous saga.

Eight cycles ago (Feb. of 2020, just as the pandemic was ramping up) this was the energy in place when a new, and terrifying, facet of the madness that has a chokehold on too many people in the U.S. was revealed, when the Trump administration rolled out a budget that called for $1 trillion in cuts to Medicaid and the Affordable Care Act over a decade. This “plan” also sought to halve U.S. funding for the World Health Organization, in addition to calling for deep cuts to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and to the Infectious Diseases Rapid Response Reserve Fund. And all that was long before the current disasters related to U.S. Health services, and the madman who is now in charge of all that.

The horrors came back even worse, this past January, as soon as Trump 2.0 began, when the wrecking-ball felon in the Oval Office immediately issued orders that, among other things, would again cut funding for, and access to, health care services and coverage, particularly for lower income and older citizens. This is also a key factor in the shutdown of the U.S. government, as Democrats fight to maintain as many of those services as possible. Note that the dumpster has also removed the U.S. from the World Health Organization.

On this day there will be a Mass Call follow-up to No Kings Day, to plan for the next protest.

12 Lamat (Oct. 22nd) – a double Venus type of force representative of the “grouping together” influence of the number 12 in combination with Lamat’s “heralding” type of energy, which often “signals” some critical development, suggesting the possibility that some kind of significant announcements could be made at this time.

This is the National Day of Protest known as The October 22 Coalition to Stop Police Brutality, Repression and the Criminalization of a Generation.

In Egypt this is the day when the statues of Ramses II, Ra the sun god, and Amun, the principal deity, located deep in the sanctum sanctorum at Abu Simbel, will be lit by the sun during the Sun Festival. This only happens on two days during the year (Feb. 22nd & Oct. 22nd).

This is the Maya birth energy of E. Jean Carroll, who has been awarded over $83 million in her epic battle for justice in her long, protracted lawsuit against the dumpster for sexual abuse and defamation. Last month a federal appeals court upheld the judgment.

13 Muluk (Oct. 23rd) – “transformational water” – an energetic, often dramatic, type of energy that can trigger strong feelings and stir environmental forces which have, on occasion in the past, developed into floods, tornadoes, and even hurricanes.

The last time this was in place the leader of the largest union for federal employees warned a congressional committee that Trump’s campaign to dramatically downsize the government amounts to “the biggest assault” on the federal workforce in American history. On that same day hundreds of thousands of people took part in major Indivisible protests in 50 states, after the shock announcement the evening before that the US Agency for International Development (USAid) was putting nearly all of its employees on leave and recalling thousands of officers from their postings abroad. At that time Ed Markey, a senator from Massachusetts, said that “The only way to take back our government is to take to the streets by the millions to demand justice, not just for our country but for people around the world.”

It has now been 13 full cycles since the July 2016 Wikileaks release of documents stolen by Russian hackers from the DNC (and called for by the dumpster), intended to hurt Hillary Clinton, which triggered the torrent of speculation that ultimately resulted in Clinton’s loss in that 2016 election – and all the political chaos that has happened ever since.

Currently this is the fifth and final day of Diwali.
