Given all the wildfires currently blazing in so many areas this would be a good time to welcome the return of this strong water-oriented time frame, a period under the auspices of Tláloc, the Aztec god of rain (known as Chac to the Maya).

Upon his return Tláloc/Chac often announces his presence in dramatic, sometimes highly tempestuous ways. This is generally a highly catalytic energy traditionally associated with clouds, lightning, thunder, and heavy rainfall that has the potential to create either a “water blessing” that can purify and transform, or some sort of complete disaster, as happened when it pushed Hurricane Katrina into the Mississippi delta in mid August ten years (14 Tzolk’in cycles) ago.

The catalyzation process triggered by Chac can take many forms, with much of it being water oriented – with many significant floods being triggered during this energy frame during recent years.

But it can sometimes also trigger floods of tears, the kinds of tears that accompany unspeakable grief, as happened at 1:21 a.m. on March 8, 2014 when a Mayasian Boeing 777 with 239 people aboard suddenly blipped off the radar. That day was 4 Ik’ (a wind/breath/spirit day), the fourth day of this trecena. At that time, and for the remainder of the trecena, the world held its breath as the search for the missing place went on day after day, with search planes scouring even remote areas of the Indian Ocean, with no sign on the missing flight anywhere.

And now, precisely two cycles later, as this Kawak time frame returns, the verification of debris found on a remote island in that vast ocean is reopening that portal, and with it the potential to bring closure for the hundreds of people who have been waiting in agony for so long.

So yes, once again we have the kind of “energy echo” that pushes a situation forward, moving it into a new chapter. And in this particular situation the floodgates of grief will reopen, and provide opportunities for cleansing and purification. This time 4 Ik’ returns on Monday, Aug. 10th, opening a week that will surely return much attention to this story as the search continues for more debris of the wreckage, and more clues as to the cause of the disaster.

This is the kind of force that can also issue a call to action, as happened in late August of 1963 when Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. stood on the steps of the Lincoln Memorial and delivered one of the most moving and memorable speeches in history that put forth a call for freedom and liberty for those who had been long persecuted.

Again and again we must rise to the majestic heights of meeting physical force with soul force . . . .we will not be satisfied until justice rolls down like waters and righteousness like a mighty stream . . . . Now known as his “I Have A Dream” speech, it was a monumental cry, issued on 9 Manik’ (the “outward projection of reciprocity”, associated with faciliating long term harmonization), on the ninth day of this time frame – and August 15th will be the “New Fire” anniversary of the 9 Manik’ 15 Yaxk’in energy that was in place at that time. (Note: New Fire/Calendar Round anniversaries happen every 52 years less 13 days.)

So, although a force to be reckoned with, Kawak is not always associated with disasters. It can often be seen as a mightly call to action, as could be seen in the massive protest rallies in places such as Hong Kong, Missouri, Cairo, and even Eastern Canada the last time this trecena was in place,

Indeed, traditionally Tláloc/Chac was associated with fertility, as the rain gods brought the life-giving water that was needed for the growth of crops. So even if some of that “push” can be felt at this time, keep in mind that it is all oriented towards clearing, cleansing, and “new growth”. During this time frame these are the energies that will come into play:

1 Kawak (Aug. 7th) – the “initiation” of “the catalytic storm”, this time in conjunction with the 800th anniversary of the signing of the Articles of the Barons, that set the foundation for democracy- oriented Magna Carta; Maya birth energy of Princess Diana

2 Ajaw (Aug. 8th) – a dynamic type of energy aligned with the full sun, full power, and the idea of “enlightenment”

3 Imix (Aug. 9th) – the “activation” of “birth” or the realm of all potential, this time in conjunction with the International Day of World’s Indigenous Peoples

4 Ik’ (Aug. 10th) – the “defining” of wind/breath/spirit; an important energy associated with the connection between Quetzalcoatl and the sun; precisely two cycles since the disappearance of MH Flight 370

5 Ak’b’al (Aug. 11th) – the “pinpointing” of deep esoteric mysteries; in 2009 under this influence CERN’s Large Hadron Collider accelerated to the highest level ever achieved (up to that point) as part of a test to “unlock the secrets of the origins of the universe”

6 K’an (Aug. 12th) – a “six directions” type of energy aligned with “youthful vitality”, the energy that turned Katrina into a Tropical Storm in 2005 at the same time as it triggered an extreme solar geomagnetic storm. This time this coincides with World Elephant Day and the peak of the Persids Meteor Shower.

7 Chikchan (Aug. 13th) – this “7 Serpent” (self-generating Liberation/Lifeforce) day is the daysign of Chicomecóatl, the Aztec Goddess of agriculture (especially maize) which is traditionally representative of the more positive aspects of this time frame, with its potential for providing conditions that are favorable for bringing forth nourishment. In 1944 the greatest amphibious assault in history, known as D-Day, took place under this influence, marking the beginning of European liberation. Continuation of the peak of the Persids Meteor Shower.

8 Kimi (Aug. 14th) – a “resurrection” type of energy associated with “death” or “absolute spiritual foundations” as when Hurricane Katrina was rapidly approaching Louisiana in 2005. This time this energy coincides with the New Moon.

9 Manik’ (Aug. 15th) – an “outwardly projecting” type of energy associated with reciprocity, this time in conjunction with the 70th anniversary of VJ Day which was celebrated at the end of World War II after the unconditional surrender of Japan. This also coincides with the Inferior Conjunction of Venus (as Venus begins its transition from Evening Star to Morning Star), India’s  68th Independence day, and the Calendar Round (New Fire) anniversary of the first massive national integrated civil rights march in the U.S. (on Aug. 28th, 1963), the largest civil rights rally in U.S. history, during which Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. gave his “I Have a Dream” speech

10 Lamat (Aug. 16th) – “foundational bright star” – a foundational “signalling” type of energy; as seen in August of 2010 when the 33 miners trapped in the Chilean mining cave-in signalled that they were alive

11 Muluk (Aug. 17th) – the “change” in conjunction with “water” energy that has accompanied many very intense water related events, such as Hurricane Katrina

12 Ok (Aug. 18th) – a “grouping together” energy associated with love, warmth, and guidance

13 Chuwen (Aug. 19th) – “transformational monkey” or “transformational play” – a highly creative “time weaving” type of energy that is sometimes referred to as “Thirteen Threads”; a powerfully innovative type of force traditionally aligned with play, creativity, and “time-weaving”, an energy that can sometimes “trick” one into thinking differently or trying out new possibilities
