Maya Count Of Days Horoscope

Maya Calendar Energies At Work In The World

It was one cycle ago when One Manik’, the first day of this trecena, coincided with New Year’s Eve, and people worldwide were bracing for 2024. At that time there was widespread speculation as people reflected on past events, on the desperate and unresolved issues that kept wars raging, on the turbulent political landscapes that had everyone on edge, on economic issues, and on ever-worsening climate change issues. At that point the road ahead was murky and many were speculating on what might be done both individually and globally to shape new directions.

Much has changed – particularly in the U.S. over the past few weeks – and, amazingly, HOPE has even returned, with 50 days remaining (as of One Manik’) until the U.S. presidential election. Not only has the Harris-Walz campaign sparked renewed vitality within their own party, but large numbers of Republicans are also officially endorsing this team, and as the energy of reciprocity that is characteristic of this time period clicks in, it is likely that this time frame will trigger much more of this kind of “working together”. Keep in mind that Manik’ is representative of Earth-oriented harmony, as well as Sacrifice-and-Reconcilation.

Historically, many Mesoamerican cultures represented Manik’ as a deer, thought to be an embodiment of the sun. The Maya, however, represented this energy, in hieroglyphic form, as a hand holding the sun, symbolizing the idea of the warmth and nourishment of the sun being brought to Earth, an energy that helps to “shape” things of the earth. And that is what is happening right now, as so many people are getting involved in the “shaping” of new directions, creating “A New Way Forward”. Yes, this does involve “sacrifice” at times, but any sacrifice required will be for the greater good. Think of it in the traditional indigenous sense of deer and hunter working together for a life-enhancing purpose, with the deer sacrificing itself to provide sustenance for the hunter, on condition that its sacrifice is thoughtfully, respectfully, and meaningfully put towards a greater good, such as feeding and protecting others. Negotiation and compromise are often highlighted at this time as people work towards some sense of harmonization regarding ideologies or courses of action.

The Aztec saw this period as being under the auspices of a deity known as Tlazolteotl. Known as the “Eater of Filth”, she was a goddess of purification and curing who was oriented around the idea of erasing transgressions, so it would seem that there will be a great deal of “energetic help” in place at this time.

Aztec version of the Manik’ (Deer) trecena from the pre-Columbian Codex Borgia by artist Richard Balthazar (used with permission). The first day (One Deer) is represented by the little head of a deer in the lower right corner within the border). Each of the remaining days proceed around the edge from there, towards the left, ending with 13 Kawak (Storm) at the upper left corner. In the centre, on the left, is Tlazolteotl, one of the deities who oversees this time period. She was an archetype of a mature, wise woman, with many skills, including women’s medicine and divination. Known as the “Eater of Filth” she was a goddess of purification and curing who was oriented around the idea of erasing transgressions. On the right is the Jaguar deity known as Tepeyollotl, who serves as a co-patron.

Hopefully, during this period negotiations will continue in efforts to put an end to the Israeli-Gaza war. It seems that one key issue at the moment pertains to a narrow strip of Gaza’s southern border area with Egypt – known as the Philadelphi Corridor, which includes the Rafah crossing – which the Israeli leader wants to keep under Israeli control to prevent weapons being smuggled into Gaza. Hamas is demanding a full Israeli withdrawal from Gaza. This would be an ideal time to reach some kind of workable agreement to end the war, return the remaining hostages, and begin the humungous job of attending to humanitarian needs in the region.

While a considerable amount of “give-and-take” will be required in order to gain any sense of workable equilibrium with regard to the armed conflicts in many regions, there is a strong window of opportunity during this period for progress to be made.
Indeed, past events have demonstrated how these forces can play out in action, as seen in 2019 when this trecena began with the first ever UN High-Level Meeting (UN HLM) on Universal Health Coverage – a landmark summit where world leaders made an “historic commitment” to improve global health through the most “comprehensive international health agreement in history”. Early in 2021 this trecena saw both US houses of Congress pass the Covid Relief Bill, which was a turning point in the fight against covid. Later that same year, when this trecena returned for a second time, the historic, bipartisan, $1 trillion infrastructure bill was signed by President Biden in the US., just three days before the director of the United Nations’ World Food Programme laid out a plan to spend $6.6 billion to combat world hunger.

Three cycles ago, in 2022, there was a tremendous amount of high level negotiation, both locally and internationally, that was significantly productive. It was during this period that Congress in the US actually worked together to pass the sweeping Inflation Reduction Act, a $740bn climate, healthcare, and tax legislation package that was the product of 18 months of intense wrangling. At that same time President Biden signed into law the CHIPS and Science Act to boost investment in domestic high-tech research and manufacturing, as well as the PACT Act to expand and streamline health care for around 3.5 million post-9/11 combat veterans who were exposed to toxins while serving in Iraq and Afghanistan. It demonstrated to everyone what was possible when people put differences aside and actually worked jointly towards common goals.

Two cycles ago (in April of 2023), planes from various countries got together to help people to evacuate from Sudan, as a temporary ceasefire came into effect under this influence. A brief ceasefire in Gaza also came into effect at that time. Also during that period, on the legal front in the US, this trecena brought significant last-minute negotiations between Dominion Voting Systems and Fox, with Fox agreeing to pay $787.5 million to settle Dominion’s $1.6 billion defamation lawsuit against them for false claims about the 2020 election. It was one of the biggest ever financial settlements in a defamation case. Then, towards the end of the trecena, the trial associated with E. Jean Carroll’s rape lawsuit against the dumpster began, resulting in a verdict of Guilty.

As it happens, this trecena has a history of being significantly problematic for “Captain Chaos” (as Michael Cohen refers to him), as could be seen three cycles ago when 30 FBI agents carried out an intensive court-authorized search of Mar-a-lago, during which some 30 or so boxes of documents (including top secret ones) were found. This was the first time a former “president” had ever been the subject of an FBI search, signed off by a federal judge, acting on good evidence that he, intentionally, may have been involved in a crime. Then, on the last day of the trecena, he appeared for a 4-hour deposition in the New York DA’s office, where he declined (some 450 times) to answer questions because his answers could have been used against him in criminal investigations. Then, early this year, closing arguments were presented in that civil fraud trial in New York during this period, just before the second E. Jean Carroll defamation trial that began a few days later.

Currently this trecena marks eleven cycles since late November of 2016, when people were frantically attempting to sort out how to move forward after the “shocking” U.S. election that brought that unfathomable change in power, with large numbers of high level firings and resignations taking place during that time. In 1962 it was the Cuban missile crisis that had to be negotiated, with the final day of this trecena bringing the highest level of warning regarding the nuclear threat from the Soviets, as Soviet submarines in the mid-Atlantic were making their way to Cuba. That was a “game-changing” moment for President John F. Kennedy as this crisis was averted. Other dissolutions that have taken place during this time frame include the dismantling of the Berlin Wall in 1989, and the dissolution of the Soviet Union in 1991.

Note as well that in 1787 this was the trecena in place when the phrase “High Crimes and Misdemeanors” was being drafted and added to the US Constitution, becoming Article II, which provides that “the President, Vice President and all civil Officers of the United States, shall be removed from Office on Impeachment for, and Conviction of, Treason, Bribery, or other high Crimes and Misdemeanors.” Given the machinations of the dumpster, seemingly in cahouts with his own appointees in the Supreme Court, it appears that it remains to be seen whether or not Article II will hold up. However, once Kamala wins the election, the likelihood of continued prosecutions in this regard will increase significantly, with an emphisis on finally extracting accountability for the more serious crimes that are being investigated.

As always, it is never possible to predict the exact nature of the “Sacrifice and Reconcilation” that will unfold during these 13 days, but the weigh of action tends to be on the side of justice and “reconciliation”. As always, Tlazolteotl, the patron of this trecena, has her work cut out for her as she works to “clear away filth”, with that critical election in the U.S. being close at hand. Time for everyone to work together to help her while this “harmonizing” opportunity is presented during this important period. Here are the energies that will come into play:

Miguel Hidalgo, who led Mexico’s first uprising for independence on Sept. 16, 1810.

1 Manik’ (Sept. 16th) – aka “One Deer”, the “initiation of reciprocity”, symbolized by
the Moon Goddess (the Number One) working with the Deer/Stag, the “carrier” of the sun on Earth, as it was last Dec. 31st when the sun hurled a highly charged CME towards Earth, after emitting an X5 solar flare, the strongest X-class solar flare since 2017. Currently this is coinciding with the UN’s International Day for the Preservation of the Ozone Layer. This is also an important celebrational day in many parts of the world. It includes:

  • Mexico’s Independence Day, celebrating 214 years since Spain withdrew and officially recognized Mexico as an independent country, on this second day of National Hispanic Heritage Month, with the 2024 theme being “Pioneers of Change: Shaping the Future Together”.
  • The full day of Mawlid al-Nabi, the observance of the birthday of the prophet Muhammad in the Muslim calendar, which ends at nightfall.
  • Respect for the Aged Day in Japan
  • The lead-up to Anant Chaturdashi, near the end of the Ganesh festival in India, as people prepare for the grand finale which happens the following day.

It has now been two cycles exactly since Germany shut down its three remaining nuclear power plants. That was the day when Canada agreed to pay $800m to settle a land claims dispute with five First Nations, acknowledging that it had failed to honour a treaty signed more than a century ago. This was part of a string of negotiations that have been reshaping the relationship between government and Canada’s indigenous communities. This is the Maya birth energy of Wab Kinew, premier of Manitoba, who became the first First Nations premier in Canada last Oct. 23rd .

This energy marks 13 tortuous cycles since mid-June of 2015 when the dumpster announced his candidacy for the 2016 election. Since 13 is the energy of the final “big push” before change, this could be another indicator of the imminent end of that particular “zone of terror”.

2 Lamat (Sept. 17th) – a “dynamic heralding” (or leadership) type of energy, generally referred to as “Star” by the Maya. As two Lamat was seen as the birth energy of an Aztec deity known as Ometochtli (Two Rabbit), associated with pulque, the fermented sap of the maguey plant, this day was seen as having a connection with intoxication.

Currently this is the day of the Chinese Moon Festival (aka the Mooncake Festival or the Mid-Autumn Festival), one of the largest festivals in mainland China and East Asia.

It is also Anant Chaturdashi, the day of the biggest spectacle of the Ganesh festival in India and elsewhere, that began on Sept. 7th. This is the day when Ganesh statues are submerged in bodies of water, so that Ganesh can “become formless” once again and people can ask him to return next year. Ganesh “assumed form” on the first day of the festival (Sept. 7th), and returns to formlessness on this final day, symbolically representing an endless cycle. The teaching is that all things change but “Source” (the “Supreme Truth”) remains the same.

In addition this is the UN’s International World Patient Safety Day, and the Maya birth energy of Elvis Aaron Presley. An “Elvis Evolution” Immersive AI Hologram show is due to launch in London early next year.

3 Muluk (Sept. 18th) – the “activation of water”, often a powerful “shape-shifting” type of force, as was in place at the time of the first inauguration of Barack Obama as the 44th US president, in 2009.

Two years later this was in place when an enormous 9.0 earthquake struck Japan off the coast of Sendai, NE of Tokyo, triggering a devastating tsunami. It was also in place in 1962 when the U.S. obtained photographic evidence of Soviet missile installations in Western Cuba, which triggered the Cuban missile crisis 2 days later. In 1997 this energy was in place at the time of the tragic death of Princess Diana.

Currently this is coinciding with a partial lunar eclipse at the time of the Super Harvest Moon. This is Independence Day in Chile and International Equal Pay Day.

This is also the Maya birth energy of both Sir Mick Jagger and Prince Louis, Diana’s grandson, who was born precisely 29 Tzolk’in cycles after the death of Princess Diana. For Harry Potter fans, this would be Harry’s Maya birth energy.

4 Ok (Sept. 19th) – a “defining” Burner Day representative of fire (or heart-fire), an energy that can often stir the emotions as this is a “double-fire” type of force (the sun plus fire working together), seen as an energy that “runs with the fire”.

This is marking two cycles since UN Secretary General Antonio Guterres warned that “humanity is just one misunderstanding, one miscalculation away from nuclear annihilation.” His remarks came at the opening of a conference for countries signed up to the nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty. With current concerns about the possibility of Russia sharing nuclear secrets with Iran, and other threats coming from Russia relating to their aggression against Ukraine, the overall situation in this regard is “dicey”.

This energy is marking five cycles since the US House of Representatives passed Joe Biden’s $1.9tn coronavirus relief bill, and two cycles since Dominion Voting Systems and Fox News reached a last-minute settlement, after the jury was sworn in, as Fox agreed to pay $787.5 million to settle Dominion’s defamation lawsuit against them for false claims about the 2020 election. It was one of the biggest ever financial settlements in a defamation case.

5 Chuwen (Sept. 20th) – a “precision” oriented energy in combination with play or even mischief (symbolized by a monkey), coinciding at this time with World Cleanup Day. This is also legendary actress Sophia Loren’s 90th birthday. Happy birthday Sophia!

This marks two cycles exactly since the dumpster’s former CFO Allen Weisselberg was
released after serving over three months in the infamous Rikers Island jail in New York after pleading guilty to 15 felony counts related to a tax evasion scheme carried out by the Trump Organization. Another example of someone else paying the price for crimes perpetuated by “he who has no compunction”.

This can also be seen as a “timeweaver” type of energy that can bring about change through innovation, as was in place when the historic, bipartisan, $1 trillion infrastructure bill was signed in the US. four cycles ago, in 2021. Then, three cycles ago, the US Senate voted to pass long-sought bipartisan PACT Act bill to expand health care benefits for millions of veterans exposed to toxic burn pits during their military service, sending the bill to President Joe Biden to sign into law.

In 1962 this energy was in place at the start of the Cuban Missile crisis, a dangerous 13-day confrontation between the US and the Soviet Union, that came close to escalating into a full-scale nuclear war.

6 Eb’ (Sept. 21st) – generally a “stabilizing” type of energy aligned with “restorative vitality”, coinciding at this time with the UN’s International Day of Peace, with this year’s theme being “Cultivating a Culture of Peace”, and World Gratitude Day.

Marking the 25th anniversary of the UN General Assembly’s adoption of the Declaration and Programme of Action on a Culture of Peace

This is the start day for Munich’s 189th Octoberfest, one of the largest festivals in the world. In addition this is World Alzheimer’s Day, associated with raising awareness about Alzheimer’s and dementia , and the first day of the two-day sixth Annual Canadian Walk for Veterans event, to provide support for veterans who suffer from PTSD.

7 B’en (Sept. 22nd) – a “self generating personal authority” type of energy, coinciding with Autumn Equinox, at the start of Climate Week NYC, the biggest annual climate event of its kind. This is also the first day of the UN’s 2-day “Summit of the Future” event, that looks to commit to “Bold new solutions” to global challenges.

This is the International Elephant Foundation’s Elephant Appreciation Day.  Given the current considerations relating to the possibility of culling elephants for food in parts of Africa, the need to raise awareness in this regard is more pressing than ever.

Banned books week begins on Sept. 22nd

This is also the start of Banned Books Week, as bookstores, libraries, universities, and organizations host engaging programs that spotlight censorship. This will culminate on “Let Freedom Read” Day on the final day of this trecena.

In 1974 this was the energy in place when seven of Richard Nixon’s top aides were arraigned in court. This energy was also in place when Confederate Army General Robert E. Lee surrendered to Union Army General Ulysses S. Grant at Appomattox Court House in early April of 1865, signalling the “beginning of the end” of that war.

8 Ix (Sept. 23rd) “Resurrecting Jaguar” – often aligned with the idea of a “rebirth” of earth-related magic and transformation, this is Santo Mundo, a special Maya day devoted to the Celebration of the Earth and its sacred mysteries. On this day ISS commander Oleg Kononenko and NASA astronaut Tracy Dyson will undock from the ISS and return to Earth. Kononenko became the first person to spend a cumulative 1,000 days in space. When he returns to Earth at this time his total number of days spent in orbit will be 1,110. This is U.S. astronaut Buzz Aldrin’s Maya birth energy. He is the last surviving crew member of the Apollo 11 Lunar mission, and one of the first two people to walk on the Moon.

This is the UN’s International Day of Sign Languages, and Bruce Springsteen’s 75th birthday, when New Jersey will celebrate Bruce Springsteen Day.

This marks five cycles since one of the first lawsuits was filed against Trump after the insurrection attempt, the lawsuit filed by Rep. Bennie Thompson (D-MS) and the NAACP. That was the day (in early March of 2021) when the US House of Representatives passed the HR-1 “For the People Act”, a major voting rights and campaign finance reform package that was later blocked by the Senate. Two cycles ago Magistrate Bruce Reinhart issued a warrant affidavit to search Mar-a-Lago for classified documents that had been taken from the White House. The search took place three days later, yielding boxes filled with hundreds of documents, now serving as evidence in the Classified Documents Case – a case that is still under appeal after its dismissal in July by that Trump-appointed Florida judge.

9 Men (Sept. 24th) – the “outward projection” of vision (as in the high-flying vision of the Eagle) on a day when NASA and SpaceX plan to launch another Crew Dragon, carrying astronaut Nick Hague and cosmonaut Alexander Gorbunov to the ISS.

This energy sometimes manifests as a “warrior” type of energy, as was in place in 1997 at the time of the funeral of Princess Diana, which was watched by millions. In 1865 it was in place at the time of President Abraham Lincoln’s last speech, the day he had a premonition regarding his assassination, at which time he expressed his support for black suffrage. In the audience was the Confederate activist who shot him in Ford’s theatre three days later.

This is now marking the completion of nine long, drawn-out cycles since David Laufman, the former Chief of the DOJ’s Counterintelligence and Export Control section, warned that Trump was a “clear and present danger” to the national security of the US.

Currently Ukraine’s President Zelenskyy is scheduled to address the UN Security Council in New York on this day.

10 Kib’ (Sept. 25th) – a “foundational restoration-of-order” type of energy, that can fluctuate between the setting up of important foundations for a “restoration of order” (as in the setting up of the nuclear non-proliferation treaty in 1968) to the kind of massive “clean up” that was required in China in 2008 after the Szechuan earthquake. Currently Ukraine’s President Zelenskyy is scheduled to address the UN General Assembly at this time.

It has been one cycle since a US Court of Appeals expressed deep skepticism about the dumpster’s claim of immunity, an offshoot of Judge Chutkan’s refusal to dismiss the Jan. 6th case based on so-called “presidential immunity”. The skepticism of the Court of Appeals led to the claim being taken up by the Supreme Court. It has since been returned to Judge Chutkin to decide what aspects of the case can still be prosecuted.

In 1787 this was the energy in place when the phrase “High Crimes and Misdemeanors” was added to the draft US Constitution, becoming Article II.

This is the Maya birth energy of long-time civil rights activist Andrew Young, who is now 92. He helped draft the Civil Rights Act of 1964 and the Voting Rights Act of 1965.

11 Kab’an (Sept. 26th) – the energy of “change” combined with the force of evolutionary movement, with a major hurricane pounding Florida and 40 days remaining until the 2024 presidential election.

It has now been five cycles exactly since the US Senate passed the $1.9tn coronavirus relief bill, clearing the way for it to be signed into law shortly thereafter. That was when a small number of senior, elected Republicans began pushing back against Trump’s domination of the party. In recent months that push back has become much much stronger, as many Republicans have now declared their support for Harris, and there are even “Republicans for Harris” groups stepping up in many places to actively campaign for Harris. At the end of the last trecena more than a dozen former Ronald Reagan staff members also endorsed Kamala.

Three cycles ago (in August of 2022) this was the energy in place when 30 FBI agents carried out an intensive, court-authorized search of Mar-a-lago, and dozens of boxes of documents (some of which were classified as top secret) were found. Two cycles ago (in April of last year) this energy was in place at the start of the trial associated with E. Jean Carroll’s rape case against the dumpster, which she ultimately won. Currently this is the day when prosecutors in the election interference case will present their arguments in their opening brief, based on revised filings, with Judge Chutkin presiding.

World Maritime Day: Dedicated to enhancing maritime Safety and Security, and protecting the marine environment

Currently this is the UN’s International Day for the Total Elimination of Nuclear Weapons, World Maritime Day, with this year’s theme being “Navigating the Future: Safety First”, and Remember Me Thursday, a focal point for a global campaign to increase awareness of pet adoption organizations around the world, a campaign to help orphaned pets to find forever homes. There is no doubt there continues to be a great need for assistance in this area.

12 Etz’nab’ (Sept. 27th) – a robust “knife-edge” type of force that can bring forth powerful separation (or “sacrifice-related”) events, as was in place early last January at the time of the first hearings in the Hague related to South Africa’s request for an interim measure to be taken by the International Court of Justice to prevent Israel from committing acts of potential genocide against Gaza. Tragically, even the involvement of the ICJ has not brought an end to the devastating situation in that region.

In April of 1865 this was the energy in place at the time of the Ford’s Theatre shooting of President Abraham Lincoln. This is often a highly consequential (and often “shock-oriented”) energy, as it was at that time. This could also be seen six cycles ago (mid June of 2020) when the dumpster held a rally in Tulsa to try to “re-boot” his campaign. That rally was seen as one of the first “superspreader” events that was held as he tried to downplay (or ignore) the deadly pandemic.

Two cycles ago (in April of last year), this was in place when E. Jean Carroll gave a searing account in court about having been sexually assaulted by the dumpster. Thirteen days later he was convicted of sexual abuse and defamation. Deemed to be liable on 9 charges, he was required to pay Ms. Carroll $5 million in damages. After he defamed her again, shortly after the trial, she sued him again. As before, he lost an appeal, and then lost again at a second trial.

When this energy returned this past January it was the day when closing arguments were presented in the Trump civil fraud trial in New York, which he also lost, at which time he was ordered to pay a fine of more than $400 million (that, in addition to nearly $90 million that he was ordered to pay E. Jean Carroll with regard to the assault case and the defamation case).

Currently this is World Tourism Day, and Native American Day in California and Nevada. It is also the opening day for the Claude Monet Thames paintings exhibit in London.

13 Kawak (Sept. 28th) – “transformational storm”, the energy that was in place at the time of the 9.2 earthquake in Alaska in 1964. It was also in place in April of 1865 at the time of the death of President Abraham Lincoln, following his assassination shooting the evening before.

Three cycles ago this energy was in place when Trump appeared for a 4-hour deposition at the New York attorney general’s office, relating to the fraud case, but declined (some 450 times) to answer questions because his answers could be used against him in criminal investigations. He invoked the Fifth Amendment, which protects people from being compelled to be a witness against themselves in criminal cases. However, invoking the Fifth did not help him, and one cycle ago he was fined again, that time being ordered to pay $400,000 in a case relating to the New York Times.

World News Day dedicated to fact-based journalism

Currently this is World News Day, in support of journalists and their audiences who work
together, using facts and understanding, to make the world a better place. Similarly, this is the UN’s International Day for Universal Access to Information, which aims “to raise public awareness of the critical role that newsrooms and journalists play in helping people make sense of — and improve — the rapidly changing world around them”.

It is also World Rivers day, a global celebration of the world’s waterways, with emphasis on the importance of keeping them clean, particularly since it has been found that some of the world’s best-known rivers (including the Thames and the Danube) have been contaminated with dangerously high levels of antibiotics.

the final day of Banned Books Week

In addition, this is National Public Lands Day in the U.S.; International Rabbit Day; Let Freedom Read Day, the final day of Banned Books Week; and Confucius’s birthday, sometimes called “Teacher’s Day” as Confucius is known as China’s “First Teacher”.
