Maya Count Of Days Horoscope

Maya Calendar Energies At Work In The World

This trecena begins with a curious set of “coincidences” – “or not”, depending on how you look at it, as the Maya Calendar has a way of presenting curiosities that can have us thinking well beyond the idea of “coincidence”. Much of this ties in with the fact that the funeral for Prince Phillip, Queen Elizabeth’s long-serving prince consort, is taking place on One Kawak, the first day of this time frame. This can translate as the “initiation” of a “catalytic storm”, which can pertain to the idea of weather-related storms, or emotional storms, or even “compassion-related” storms.

At this time many are thinking about Queen Elizabeth, who is laying to rest her husband, who has been by her side for over 73 years. And this is taking place just 4 days before her 95th birthday, during a deadly pandemic. Since Prince Philip lived such a long life, with his passing coming just before his 100th birthday, many saw him as a kind of “institution”, or “touchpoint of stability” – someone who has been there, as a major part of the British royal family, for all of their lives. His passing represents a major “shift” in the status quo – the world is changing and no one knows for sure what lies ahead.

As millions bring their attention to what is taking place at Windsor Castle at this time, most (well . . . . almost all) will be unaware that this One Kawak day is also a Maya Calendar anniversary of the One Kawak birth energy of princess Diana, whose birth was precisely 84 Tzolk’in cycles earlier. The numerical parallels extend right into the month, as the funeral on this day takes place on Maya date One Kawak 17 Pop and Diana was born on One Kawak 17 Sotz’. And if we want to look back over the centuries we can see that King Henry VIII married Catherine of Aragon on a One Kawak day as well.

And then we have the curious “coincidence” that as of this day precisely two Calendar Rounds ago, on a One Kawak 17 Pop day in mid May of 1917 – precisely the same energies that are in place right now – the Virgin Mary was said to have appeared to three children in Fatima, Portugal.

While it may not be difficult to see the connection between Princess Diana and this key event associated with Prince Philip, and even the connection to the Henry VIII event, the connection to the Fatima event may be a little harder to perceive – unless you look at some of the members of Prince Philips’s extended family. His great-great grandmother was Princess Alice, Queen Victoria’s third child, who was nicknamed “the angel in the house” who spent a great deal of time nursing her father, Prince Albert, on his deathbed in 1861. Later she helped to establish the Alice Hospital, and the Princess Alice Women’s Guild, which trained nurses. She also was a staunch promoter of women’s right. His great aunt, the Grand Duchess Ella of Russia, opened a convent in Moscow and became an abbess. Her convent provided a focus for feeding and nursing thousands, but she was killed the day after the horrific murder of Czar Nicholas, Alexandra and their five children. She was later canonized as a saint by the Russian Orthodox church. Philip’s mother (who had some mental issues) was apparently so obsessed with “otherworldly” ideas that she began dressing as a nun and claimed to have great healing powers. So perhaps that connection to the “mystical” is not so far fetched.

Perhaps, with this funeral rite taking place under exactly the same energy influence as was in place at the time of the first Fatima vision, this is one of those “cosmic amusements” that often appear through the lens of this calendrical system. In any case, Prince Philip likely would have smiled if he had any awareness of these various One Kawak events, and may have wondered if some of his female ancestors had anything to do with this, in terms of timing.

With regard to Kawak’s connection with weather-related storms, there are many examples of severe events that have taken place on One Kawak or on other days within this Kawak-oriented trecena. Indeed, one cycle ago (last July) a hurricane warning was issued for Florida, and a state of emergency declared, as Cat. 1 Hurricane Isaias was drenching the Bahamas en route to the US, at the same time as the ignition of the Apple wildfire in Riverside County CA. In 2017 a “thundersnow” storm pummelled the UK under this influence, and in 2015 Supertyphoon Soudelor slammed into Taiwan on a One Kawak day, just as Hilda was turning into a hurricane and quickly building into Cat. 4 strength before heading towards Hawaii. And then there was Hurricane Katrina and the inundation of New Orleans in 2005 during the last three days of this time frame.

This does not mean that it’s necessarily time to have your rainboots handy (although it wouldn’t hurt), but just be aware that this energy CAN be intense at times and the “catalyzation-related” energies can trigger “storms” of different kinds, even firestorms (literal or otherwise). Things can also manifest quite suddenly, as happened in this local area (BC’s west coast) the last time this trecena arrived, last summer, when over 400 lightning strikes were recorded in a huge lighting storm in the early morning hours just as One Kawak was coming in.

Past events reveal that this trecena can often be an inflection point – a point at which critical choices are brought forward and decisions made that can have significant consequences. Six cycles ago as of 3 Imix, President Obama delivered his poignant farewell address as president on the same day in early 2017 as the chiefs of U.S intelligence agencies presented Obama, the bipartisan Gang of Eight Congressional leaders and the dumpster with a two page summary of explosive information related to the hacking of the DNC and other related topics. Rather than bringing everything to a standstill, for an investigation, it instead marked the start of an overt and shameful campaign of deception and political chicanery than continued to be perpetuated by the White House over the following hair-raising four years. The dumpster was sworn in on the final day of this trecena, which was 13 Chuwen, an energy that time could translate as “transformational monkey”.

What was left after that so-called presidency (which was more of a highjacking of truth and ethics) was a mess of monumental proportions, and a country with an astronomical death rate from covid. But since the inauguration of Joe Biden and his major push to get the country vaccinated, the death rate has decreased dramatically. As it happens Joe Biden’s 100th day in office is coming in at this time exactly six cycles after his predecessor was sworn in.

What we are working with during this trecena is an energy frame that is often fueled by passion and compassion, often oriented around significant causes, as when it triggered the first national integrated civil rights march in the U.S., in the summer of 1963, in what was, at that time, the largest civil rights rally in U.S. history. Currently the focus continues to be on the Black Lives Matter movement, with Minneapolis being a major focal point for attention once again as the trial related to the death of George Floyd comes to a close, and as that same city sorts out what to do about the killing of another young black man by another police officer just a few days ago. Given that major protest demonstrations have taken place in that city for several days and nights in a row now, the storm there is definitely “brewing” and has the potential to escalate significantly, depending on how the wheels of “justice” turn. In 2018 this was the trecena in place when the dumpster’s former campaign manager Paul Manafort was arraigned and sent to jail over witness tampering and other charges, including obstruction of justice.

Adaptation of the Kawak trecena from the pre-Columbian Codex Borgia by artist Richard Balthazar (used with permission). The first day (One Kawak or “One Storm”) is represented by the little head of Tlaloc (equivalent to the Maya rain god Chac) at the bottom right corner (within the border). Each of the remaining days proceed around the edge from there towards the left, ending with 13 Chuwen (Monkey), depicted as the head of a monkey, at the upper left corner. In the centre on the right is Tlaloc, the Aztec god of rains and storms, the chief patron of this trecena. This is a time frame that has the potential to be benevolent, but these energies can also be volatile and changeable, and even very “stormy”.

As this trecena gets underway at this time we can keep in mind the fact that this was seen as a strong water-oriented time frame, a period thought of in ancient lore as being under the auspices of Tláloc, the Aztec god of rain (known as Chac to the Maya). Chac was seen as a deity who often announces his presence in dramatic, sometimes highly tempestuous ways. This often manifests as a highly catalytic energy traditionally associated with clouds, lightning, thunder, and heavy rainfall that has the potential to create either a “water blessing” that can purify and transform, or set off some sort of complete disaster as it did in 2005 with Hurricane Katrina. Although there have been many intense events during this energy frame, the catalyzation process triggered by Chac can take many forms. In 1944, for example, it brought forth the greatest amphibious invasion in history, on a day now referred to as D-Day, as allied forces landed in Normandy on the life-oriented mid-point of this trecena, marking the beginning of European liberation.

Many significant floods have been triggered during past cycles, but these energies can also trigger floods of tears and deep compassion. Indeed, Chac has been known to be quite benevolent at times, as this deity was seen as having the capacity to trigger the kind of catalyzation that can eventually lead to a cleansing and clearing of dark forces. Given that the Kimi trecena during the first two weeks of April has brought an enormous spike in Covid-19 cases worldwide, triggering many more restrictions and increased efforts to speed up immunization programs, it may be that people will finally realize that everyone needs to contribute to the global actions that are needed in order to eradicate this dreadful disease, in order to bring this pandemic to an end. With this in mind, this trecena may (or may not) bring storms and flooding in the traditional sense, but hopefully there will be a lot of catalytic action in order to bring about the changes that are so greatly needed.

It seems that Prince Philip, the Duke of Edinburgh requested that “Action Stations”, the naval call to arms, is to ring out as his coffin is lowered into the royal vault on this day. That is a request that fits well with the energy of One Kawak. Here are the energies that are coming into place:

1 Kawak (April 17th) – the “initiation” of a “catalytic storm”, the day of Prince Philips’ funeral at Windsor Castle, with attendance limited to only 30 people, due to the pandemic. This ends the 8 days of national mourning in the UK. This is an anniversary of the One Kawak Maya Calendar birth energy of princess Diana, precisely 84 Tzolk’in cycles earlier, and a Maya Calendar anniversary of the energy in place when King Henry VIII married Catherine of Aragon in 1509.

It has been two Calendar Rounds since the first apparition of Our Lady of Fatima to three children in the parish of Fatima in Portugal, the first of six such appearances over a five month period in 1917.

Back in 2011 this was the energy in place at the time of notable White House Correspondents dinner when President Obama mocked the dumpster about this conspiracy theories pertaining to Obama’s birthplace, and Seth Myers taunted the dumpster about his comments about running as a Republican candidate.

At this point it has now been three cycles (780 days) since Democrats in the US House of Representatives passed the historic “H.R.8” bill, related to gun control, the first major gun control legislation in that country in 20 years – a bill that still has not been brought to a vote in the Senate. However, given that another mass shooting took place in the US just before this trecena began, making that the 147th such event in the US so far this year, there is little doubt that, during this current trecena, much attention will again be placed on the question of how to get that legislation passed, one way or another.

2 Ajaw (April 18th) – a dynamic type of energy aligned with the full sun, full power, and the idea of “enlightenment”, coinciding at this time with the first annual World Artisan Day. This is also World Heritage Day, aka the International Day for Monuments and Sites (ICOMOS), with this year’s theme being “Complex Pasts: Diverse Futures”.

This is the opening day for the Royal Mummies Hall at the new National Museum of Egyptian Civilization in Cairo, which is the final resting place for the mummies of the pharaohs and some of their family members who were moved to this museum, with great fanfare, during the last trecena.

One cycle since masks become mandatory in all enclosed public spaces in France, which now has the world’s fourth highest number of recorded Covid-19 cases, at over five million, with over 100,000 deaths. The highest numbers continue to be recorded in the US, India, and Brazil.

It has been eleven cycles exactly since President Obama gave his address in East Berlin where he outlined his vision for a safer, more cooperative world, to mark the 50th anniversary of President John F. Kennedy’s 1963 speech. How could anyone have imagined how far away from that vision the world would become in just 7-8 short, and highly turbulent, years?

3 Imix (April 19th) – the “activation” of “birth” or the realm of all potential, on the day when Canada’s new federal budget will be presented in the House of Commons. This is the day when closing arguments will be made in the “powderkeg” trial in Minneapolis over the death of George Floyd. This is also the start of Earth Week.

This is the new date for NASA to attempt the first flight of its Ingenuity helicopter on Mars (postponed from an earlier date). It has been one cycle and 3 days since NASA’s Perseverance began its seven month journey to the Red Planet (the third mission to blast off within an 11 day period last summer).

This day marks six cycles since President Obama’s farewell address to the nation in 2017, on the same day as the chiefs of U.S intelligence agencies presented the explosive information relating to, among other things, the hacking of the DNC. It has now been four cycles since the Justice Department’s Inspector General released a sweeping report on the FBI’s investigation into Hillary Clinton and her email server, with the conclusion that the FBI’s (and James Comey’s) actions not only “cast a cloud” over the bureau but also did a grave disservice to Clinton. More recently (just 5 days) ago a US Treasury Department statement revealed that the dumpster’s campaign gave their own data to a Russian spy as part of Russia’s efforts to sabotage the 2016 election in favour of the GOP.

4 Ik’ (April 20th) the “defining” of wind/breath/spirit; an important energy associated with the connection between the sun and the wind oriented deity known as Quetzalcoatl/ Feathered Serpent. This is one of the five energies at the centre of the Aztec Sun Stone.

It has now been ten cycles since the mysterious disappearance of Malaysian Airlines Flight 370 in the spring of 2014. Although the flight is believed by many to have disappeared over the Indian Ocean, the fate of this flight remains inconclusive.

5 Ak’b’al (April 21st) – the “pinpointing” of deep esoteric mysteries, four cycles since the House Judiciary Committee formally began gathering proof of obstruction of justice, corruption, and abuses of power with regard to the dumpster’s administration. In 2005 this was the energy in place when the weather system that turned into Hurricane Katrina formed as a Tropical Depression.

The UNs World Creativity and Innovation Day is on April 21st. Related to this is the UNESCO Resiliart movement that aims “to ensure the continuity of conversations, data sharing, and advocacy efforts long after the pandemic subsides”.

Currently this is Queen Elizabeth’s 95th Gregorian birthday, at the peak of the Lyrid meteor shower.

This is also the UN’s World Creativity and Innovation Day. As noted on the UN’s website, creativity and innovation, at both individual and group levels, have become “the true wealth of nations in the 21st century”.

6 K’an (April 22nd) – a “six directions” type of energy aligned with “youthful vitality”, coinciding at this time with Earth Day, with the theme for 2021 being “Restore Our Earth”. On this day the US will host a Leaders Summit on Climate, during which 40 world leaders (including China’s President Xi) will participate in virtual format. This summit marks the resumption of the US as a major participant in the fight against climate change.

In 2005 this was the energy that turned Katrina into a Tropical Storm (pre-hurricane) at the same time as an extreme solar geomagnetic storm was triggered.

Earth Day 2021 poster: “Luckily the Animals are here to pick up after us”. Earth Day is on April 22nd.

7 Chikchan (April 23rd) – a self-generating Liberation/Lifeforce type of energy that was seen traditionally as the daysign of Chicomecóatl, the Aztec Goddess of agriculture (especially maize) which was representative of the more positive aspects of this time frame, with its potential for providing conditions that are favorable for bringing forth nourishment. This is the day for the Crew Dragon launch to the ISS (moved forward from the earlier-scheduled day before). This is also the second day of the international Leaders Summit on Climate.

In 1944 the greatest amphibious assault in history, known as D-Day, took place under this influence, marking the beginning of European liberation.

8 Kimi (April 24th) – a “resurrection” type of energy associated with “death” or “absolute spiritual foundations” coinciding at this time with the final day of Earth Week, World Tai Chi and Qigong Day, the UN’s International Day of Multilateralism and Diplomacy for Peace, and Independent Bookstore Day.

Assuming that all goes well with the Crew Dragon launch, this is the day when the Crew Dragon carrying four astronauts will dock with the space station to begin their six-month sojourn in space.

This is the 105th Gregorian anniversary of the Easter Rebellion in Ireland, which began the push for Irish Independence. It is also Shirley Maclaine’s 87th Gregorian birthday.

9 Manik’ (April 25th) – an “outwardly projecting” type of energy associated with reciprocity, a Maya calendar anniversary of the energy that was in place when Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. gave his memorable “I Have a Dream” speech in 1963 at the Lincoln Memorial during the first national integrated civil rights march in the U.S., the largest civil rights rally in U.S. history.

Currently this is Anzac Day, World Malaria Day, the day of the 93rd Academy Awards ceremony, and Al Pacino’s 81st birthday.

10 Lamat (April 26th) “foundational bright star” – a foundational “signalling” type of energy, now in place on National Help a Horse Day in the US, as the time of the Pink Super Moon, the first supermoon of 2021.

In Taiwan this is seen as the birthday of the God of Medicine – Baosheng Dadi. This day marks one cycle since the beginning of the Fairy Creek logging blockade just north of Sooke on Vancouver Island, an effort to protect one of the last stands of old growth forest from logging. That standoff still continues.

This is also the 47th Gregorian anniversary of the resignation of President Nixon after the Watergate scandal (which now seems mild in comparison with the unconscionable scandals and atrocities associated with the dumpster and his administration).

It has been three cycles exactly since the US House of Representatives first passed a sweeping anti-corruption and government ethics package, known as For the People Act 2019 (H.R. 1, 2019) which was designed to expand voting rights, limit partisan gerrymandering, strengthen ethics rules, and fundamentally reshape how elections are run. It was reintroduced in 2021 and passed by the House last month. However, despite the popularity of this bill, it has yet to be passed by the Senate.

11 Muluk (April 27th) – the “change” in conjunction with “water” energy that has accompanied many very intense water related events, such as Hurricane Katrina in 2005. Five cycles ago this was the energy in place when the fast moving Hurricane Nate reached hurricane strength in the Gulf of Mexico, before making landfall near the Mississippi Delta two days later. Two cycles ago, in Nov. 2019, this 11 Muluk energy brought storms of “biblical proportions” that swept through France, Greece, and Italy, triggering landslides, flash floods, and black-outs. On its last appearance (last August) there were widespread floods in Kerala, India.

12 Ok (April 28th) – a “grouping together” energy associated with love, warmth, and guidance – and sometimes even fire, coinciding at this time with International Workers’ Memorial Day, oriented around raising awareness regarding hazards in workplaces. This is a National Day of Mourning, when global tributes are dedicated to workers who have died, or were injured, or were made ill from their work. The Day of Mourning is observed in approximately 100 countries around the world, and flags are flown at half-mast. It is  recognized as International Workers’ Memorial Day by the International Labour Organization and the International Trade Union Confederation.

This was the energy in place in 1878 at the time of the death, from diptheria, of Prince Phillip’s great, great grandmother, Princess Alice.

13 Chuwen (April 29th) – “transformational monkey” or “transformational play”, an intense and highly creative “time weaving” type of energy, sometimes referred to as “Thirteen Threads”; a powerfully innovative type of force traditionally aligned with play, creativity, “time-weaving”, and even (at times) intense “trickery”. This is the kind of energy that can sometimes prompt one into thinking differently or trying out new possibilities, as was in place, amusingly (or not), at the time of the swearing in of the so-called 45th US president six tumultuous cycles (1560 days) ago.

Currently this coincides with Joe Biden’s 100th day in office as the 46th US president, exactly one cycle after Joe Biden and Kamala Harris made their first appearance together last August after Joe announced that Kamala would be his running mate. This is also International Dance Day, the beginning of Japan’s Golden Week, and country singer Willie Nelson’s 88th Gregorian birthday.

International Dance Day is also an observance of the Gregorian birthday of Jean-Georges Noverre, the 18th century French dancemaster who is seen as the creator of the ballet d’action, a precursor to modern ballet. As it happens he was born on Maya day 11 Muluk, that watery energy noted above. In his case that 11 Muluk energy could be translated as “inspirational water” as he must have known how to inspire and “flow” through his wideranging dance works.

This is also the Maya birth energy of Park Cannon, the brave and determined Democratic member of Georgia’s House of Representatives who was arrested for knocking on the Governor’s office door in an effort to discuss her concerns about the restrictive voting rights bill that the governor was signing into law.
