Maya Count Of Days Horoscope

Maya Calendar Energies At Work In The World

Hurricane Katrina and the inundation of New Orleans in 2005, the monsoon rains that sparked flash flooding and landslides in New South Wales and Queensland in 2012 at the same time as “buckets of rain” and powerful winds were spawning tornadoes across Texas, the storms of “biblical proportion” that swept through Europe last November – these and many more such events have taken place on the 11th (water-oriented) day during this Kawak (storm) trecena. But it’s not just the 11th day that has brought such events, as this entire 13-day period is “storm” oriented, and many similar events (such as the Calgary floods of 2013) have happened throughout this time frame. Those, of course, are very overt examples of how the watery nature of this time frame can manifest. But “storm” can mean a lot of things and can even manifest as firestorms (literal or otherwise – as in political firestorms at the highest levels of government).

Storm, Rain, Catalyzation – the essence of the Kawak trecena

Past events reveal that this trecena can often be an inflection point – a point at which critical choices are brought forward and decisions made that can have significant consequences. This could certainly be seen five cycles ago as of Aug. 2nd (3 Imix) when President Obama delivered his poignant farewell address as the U.S. president on the same day in early 2017 as the chiefs of U.S intelligence agencies presented Obama, the bipartisan Gang of Eight Congressional leaders and Trump with a two page summary of explosive information related to the hacking of the DNC and other related topics. That should have brought everything to a standstill (as in the Nixon downfall), but instead marked the start of an overt and shameful campaign of deception and political chicanery than has been perpetuated by the White House ever since.

Indeed, we can see one big clue as to what might follow when Trump was sworn in as president on the final day of this trecena, which was 13 Chuwen. This energy that was in place at that time could translate as “transformational monkey”, and the “monkey business” associated with that day now stands as one of history’s “national jokes” as the perceived number of people who attended the inauguration (as interpreted by the president-elect) stands in stark contrast to the visual evidence of the sparse crowds. Every 13 Chuwen since then has brought echoes of the lunacy of this inauguration, with the last one (last November) emphasizing his incompetency with regard to the US military. Ray Mabus, President Obama’s former Navy Secretary, summarized it by saying that Trump’s view of the military was a “juvenile comic book 13-year-old vision”, where he thought he could override the decisions of commanders, which (as Mabua put it) “just dishonors the military” and causes chaos and confusion.

So here we are five cycles (1300 days) after that change in leadership, with the US now looking more like a battlefield strewn with bodies, than anything remotely functional. Prior to the onslaught of the pandemic, the casualties were primarily political (generally taking the form of the ending of careers), but through that administration’s gross mishandling of the pandemic the casualties have become US citizens at large, primarily those in the largest states. With the US death toll now at well over 150,000 this will soon be three times the number of U.S. lives lost over nearly two decades during the Vietnam War, and there still is no unifying plan in place to combat the spread. The US will reach five million cases (by far the world’s highest count) within the first few days of this trecena.

What we are working with here is an energy frame that is often fueled by passion and compassion, often oriented around significant causes, as when it triggered the first national integrated civil rights march in the U.S., in the summer of 1963, in the largest civil rights rally in U.S. history.

In late November of 2014, massive protest rallies took place throughout the trecena, for many different reasons, in places such as Hong Kong, Mexico City, the U.S., Cairo, and Eastern Canada. At that time it seemed like more and more people were standing up for human rights and calling for massive changes, including in many South American countries. Since then those calls for change and improvement have increased significantly as climate change issues, humanitarian causes, and anti-corruption push-back have escalated.

But the calls have rarely, if ever, been as strong as they have been during the Trump administration, and this trecena has often been a focal point for the backlash against various diabolical actions taken under his auspices. One of the worst pertains to the handling/mishandling of US immigrants at the southern border. Three cycles ago this trecena saw a national outrage (from supporters of both parties) over Trump’s barbaric “zero-tolerance” immigrant family separation policy when it was discovered that over 11,000 children were being held in fenced cage-like enclosures. That outrage precipitated a number of private initiatives to help provide support and assistance for the migrant families. But that was in mid-2018, and the situation is still not resolved, and tens of thousands of children have continued to suffer unspeakable abuses since then, with many still being held in ICE facilities.

In 2019, one cycle after this travesty was revealed, it became clear that the US House of Representatives was churning out legislation as fast as it could to try to counteract the carnage wherever possible. This was the trecena during which they passed a sweeping anti-corruption and government ethics package, known as For the People Act 2019 (H.R. 1, 2019) which was designed to expand voting rights, limit partisan gerrymandering, strengthen ethics rules, and fundamentally reshape how elections are run. But again, that was two cycles (520 days) ago and unfortunately this is one of hundreds of bills that have not yet been passed by the Senate. But the House kept plugging along, so that by the time this trecena opened last November the entire trecena brought forth a good portion of the testimonies that provided evidence for impeachment.

Last November’s testimony-filled trecena can be seen as an “echo” from one cycle earlier (Feb. 2019) which was when Trump’s former personal lawyer Michael Cohen provided significant testimony before the US House Committee on Oversight and Reform as he turned over “explosive” evidence of criminal acts involving Trump, including evidence relating to the violation of campaign finance laws. At the time this was the kind of evidence of wrongdoing that had many people talking about the need for impeachment, and Cohen’s testimony was seen as a critical historical turning point in this regard. One cycle before that (in 2018) Trump’s former campaign manager Paul Manafort was arraigned and sent to jail over witness tampering and other charges, including obstruction of justice.

Volumes have been written about all this since then, and now, as the 2020 election looms, all the Black Lives Matter issues have come into focus, along with everything else. This current Kawak trecena is in place at this time just prior to the Democratic and GOP’s scaled-down conventions which will take place later this month, but we can be sure there will be MUCH discussion (and likely many more demonstrations) during this current period as election fever picks up.

Aztec version of the Kawak trecena, by artist Richard Balthazar (used with permission). The first day (One Kawak) is represented at the upper left corner as the head of the rain deity Tláloc (known as Chac to the Maya). Each of the remaining days proceed around the edge from there, ending with 13 Chuwen (Monkey) at the upper right. In the centre is Tláloc serving as the patron for this time frame.

So as this gets underway we can bear in mind that this is a strong water-oriented time frame, a period seen in ancient lore as being under the auspices of Tláloc, the Aztec god of rain (known as Chac to the Maya). Tláloc was seen as a deity who often announces his presence in dramatic, sometimes highly tempestuous ways. This often manifests as a highly catalytic energy traditionally associated with clouds, lightning, thunder, and heavy rainfall that has the potential to create either a “water blessing” that can purify and transform, or set off some sort of complete disaster as it did in 2005 with Hurricane trecena. It also brought forth the greatest amphibious invasion in history, in 1944, on a day now referred to as D-Day, as allied forces landed in Normandy on the life-oriented mid-point of this trecena, marking the beginning of European liberation.

Keep in mind, as well, that the catalyzation process triggered by Tláloc/Chac can take many forms, with much of it being water oriented. Many significant floods have been triggered during past cycles, but this energy can also trigger floods of tears and deep compassion. Indeed, Tláloc has been known to be quite benevolent at times, as he was seen to have the capacity to trigger the kind of catalyzation that can eventually lead to a cleansing and clearing of dark forces. It has become clear over the past few years that people are willing to do absolutely ANYTHING to get rid of the dark forces that have held a death-grip on the US since early 2017, so this is sure to be a highly active time period. This trecena may (or may not) bring storms and flooding in the traditional sense, but likely there will be a lot of catalytic action. Here are the energies that are coming into place:

1 Kawak (July 31st) – the “initiation” of a “catalytic storm”, as the waxing moon inches close to Jupiter and Saturn, with the dwarf planet Pluto in the same general line of sight in the night sky. This is one of two possible days for the launch of two Russian Express 80 and Express 103 communications satellites (stacked one on top of the other) aboard a Proton rocket (Russia’s most powerful operational launch vehicle) that will lift off from the Baikonur Cosmodrome in Kazakhstan.

This is the first full day of the important Muslim celebration of Eid Al-Adha (“the celebration of the sacrifice”) or Qurbani, which will likely be limited to smaller gatherings this year.

It has been one cycle exactly since every front page in the US (or so it seemed) ran headlines relating to the start of public hearings (the day before) preliminary to Trump’s impeachment trial, and that was one cycle precisely after the “pivotal moment in history” (in Feb. 2017) when Michael Cohen gave seven hours of public testimony in an open hearing before the US House Oversight and Reform Committee during which time he accused Trump of being “a racist, a conman and a cheat” and implied that he was involved in federal crimes. Back in 2011 this was the energy in place at the time of notable White House Correspondents Dinner when President Obama mocked Trump about this conspiracy theories pertaining to Obama’s birthplace, and Seth Myers taunted Trump about his comments about running as a Republican candidate.

At this current time it has now been two cycles since the US House of Representatives Democrats passed the historic “H.R.8” bill, involving the introduction of universal background checks for gun purchases, the first major gun control legislation in that country in 20 years – a bill that still has not been brought to a vote in the Senate.

2 Ajaw (August 1st) – a dynamic type of energy aligned with the full sun, full power, and the idea of “enlightenment”, with the moon very close to Jupiter and Saturn in the night sky, at the time when SpaceX is expected to launch its tenth batch of approx. 60 satellites for its Starlink broadband network. This is the day when masks become mandatory in all enclosed public spaces in France.

It has been two cycles exactly since Michael Cohen’s second day of public testimonies when he provided strong evidence of Trump wrongdoings before the House Intelligence Committee, and ten cycles exactly since President Obama gave his address in East Berlin under this influence, where he outlined his vision for a safer, more cooperative world, to mark the 50th anniversary of President John F. Kennedy’s 1963 speech.

3 Imix (August 2nd) – the “activation” of “birth” or the realm of all potential, with the Moon and Saturn making a close approach to each other. This concides with the final day of a greatly scaled-down Hajj in Saudi Arabia.

Maya birth energy of Juan Guaidó, the opposition leader who many countries have recognized as the rightful President of Venezuela, even though President Maduro still claims leadership of that country. It has been one cycle exactly since thousands of anti-Maduro protesters staged a massive protest against him in towns and cities across that country.

This day marks five terrifying cycles since President Obama’s farewell address to the nation in 2017, on the same day as the chiefs of U.S intelligence agencies presented the explosive information relating to, among other things, the hacking of the DNC. Three cycles since the Justice Department’s Inspector General released a sweeping report on the FBI’s investigation into Hillary Clinton and her email server, with the conclusion that the FBI’s (and James Comey’s) actions not only “cast a cloud” over the bureau but also did a grave disservice to Clinton. The results have been playing out ever since.

4 Ik’ (Aug. 3rd) – the “defining” of wind/breath/spirit; an important energy associated with the connection between the sun and Quetzalcoatl/ Feathered Serpent, on the final day of the Muslim celebration of Eid Al-Adha, at the time of the Full Sturgeon Moon (aka the Full Green Corn Moon as this is the moon that signals that corn is nearly ready for harvest). This is one of the five energies at the centre of the Aztec Sun Stone.

Currently this is B.C. Day, Heritage Day in Alberta, and Terry Fox Day in Manitoba.

This is the legendary Tony Bennett’s 94th Gregorian birthday. Two years ago he was awarded the US Library of Congress Gershwin prize for his lifetime musical achievements. Last year he was still touring across the US, with over a dozen major gigs from Pennsylvania to Seattle.

It has been precisely nine cycles since the mysterious disappearance of Malaysian Airlines Flight 370 in the spring of 2014.

5 Ak’b’al (Aug. 4th) – the “pinpointing” of deep esoteric mysteries, three cycles since the House Judiciary Committee formally began gathering proof of obstruction of justice, corruption, and abuses of power with regard to the Trump administration. In 2005 this was the energy in place when the weather system that turned into Hurricane Katrina formed as a Tropical Depression.

6 K’an (Aug. 5th) – a “six directions” type of energy aligned with “youthful vitality”.
One cycle since the impeachment related testimonies from Lt. Col. Alexander Vindman of the National Security Council, Ambassador Kurt Volker (former Special Envoy to Ukraine), and several others. In 2005 this was the energy that turned Katrina into a Tropical Storm (pre-hurricane) at the same time as an extreme solar geomagnetic storm was triggered.

7 Chikchan (Aug. 6th) – a self-generating Liberation/Lifeforce type of energy that was seen traditionally as the daysign of Chicomecóatl, the Aztec Goddess of agriculture (especially maize) which was representative of the more positive aspects of this time frame, with its potential for providing conditions that are favorable for bringing forth nourishment. In 1944 the greatest amphibious assault in history, known as D-Day, took place under this influence, marking the beginning of European liberation.

Currently this energy is coinciding with the 75th Gregorian anniversary of the Hiroshima bomb attack in 1945. At 8:45 am a commemoration ceremony will take place at the Hiroshima Peace Memorial Park, the location of one of the few buildings left standing near ground zero. The Green Legacy Hiroshima tree initiative fits in well with this 7 Chikchan energy.

This is also 55th anniversary of the signing into law of the Voting Rights Act of 1965 by President Johnson. Although this was gutted by the Supreme Court in 2013, a new voting rights bill was just introduced on July 22nd by forty-eight senators to restore the Voting Rights Act, which was officially renamed the “John Lewis Voting Rights Advancement Act” in honour of the late John Lewis.

The Global Leadership Summit 2020 edition begins at this time –as an Online experience.

8 Kimi (Aug. 7th) – a “resurrection” type of energy associated with “death” or “absolute spiritual foundations” coinciding at this time with the start of the Online version of the 3-day HexFest, a Weekend of Witchery in Old New Orleans.

It has been one cycle since Dr. Fiona Hill’s powerful testimony during the impeachment hearings. A former top Russia expert on the National Security Council, Dr. Hill criticized Republicans on the House Intelligence Committee for advancing theories that Ukraine, and not Russia, interfered with the 2016 presidential election.

9 Manik’ (Aug. 8th) – an “outwardly projecting” type of energy associated with reciprocity, a Maya calendar anniversary of the energy that was in place when Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. gave his memorable I Have a Dream speech in 1963 at the Lincoln Memorial during the first national integrated civil rights march in the U.S., the largest civil rights rally in U.S. history.

Some see this as the “Lions Gate” day (8-8-8) based on the ancient Egyptians’ observation of the heliacal rise of the star Sirius coinciding with the annual flooding of the Nile, signalling the return of nourishment, but currently that heliacal rise is about a week away.
This is the day of Hawaii’s primary elections.

10 Lamat (Aug. 9th) “foundational bright star” – a foundational “signalling” type of energy, now in place as the Moon approaches Mars in the night sky. This is the 75th anniversary of the Nagasaki bombing attack by the U.S. in 1945. An estimated 129,000-226,000 people were killed as a result of the U.S. bombing of those two Japanese cities.

This is National Peacekeepers’ Day in Canada in honour of the more than 125,000 Canadian peacekeepers who have served in dozens of international efforts over more than six decades. This is also the UN’s International Day of the World’s Indigenous Peoples, with this year’s theme being “Covid-19 and indigenous peoples’ resilience” .

It is also the 46th Gregorian anniversary of the resignation of President Nixon after the Watergate scandal (which now seems mild when compared with unconscionable scandals and atrocities perpetuated by the current US president and his administration).

Two cycles exactly since the US House of Representatives passed a sweeping anti-corruption and government ethics package, known as For the People Act 2019 (H.R. 1, 2019, which was designed to expand voting rights, limit partisan gerrymandering, strengthen ethics rules, and fundamentally reshape how elections are run. This is yet another important piece of legislation that has not yet been passed by the Senate.

11 Muluk (Aug. 10th) – the “change” in conjunction with “water” energy that has accompanied many very intense water related events, such as Hurricane Katrina in 2005. Four cycles ago this was the energy in place when the fast moving Hurricane Nate reached hurricane strength in the Gulf of Mexico, before making landfall near the Mississippi Delta two days later. During its last appearance (last November) this 11 Muluk energy brought storms of “biblical proportions” that swept through France, Greece, and Italy, triggering landslides, flash floods, and black-outs.

As of this day it has been five cycles (1300 days) since President Obama’s last press conference during his term as president – which triggered “floods” of tears for many.
As of this day it has been one Calendar Round (52 years less 13 days) since the start of the Vietnam War protests that went on for six days in 1968 outside the Democratic National Convention. Currently this is World Lion Day.

This is the day when Russia’s Covid-19 vaccine is set to be approved. However, many are skeptical about its viability since there has been no relaible information put forward about any human trials.

12 Ok (Aug. 11th) – a “grouping together” energy associated with love, warmth, and guidance – and sometimes even fire, at the peak of the Perseids meteor shower. This is the day for Connecticut’s primary elections.

13 Chuwen (Aug. 12th) – “transformational monkey” or “transformational play”, an intense and highly creative “time weaving” type of energy, sometimes referred to as “Thirteen Threads”; a powerfully innovative type of force traditionally aligned with play, creativity, “time-weaving”, and even (at times) intense “trickery”. This is the kind of energy that can sometimes prompt one into thinking differently or trying out new possibilities, as was in place, amusingly (or not), at the time of the swearing in of the 45th U.S. president five tumultuous cycles (1300 days) ago.

[CC-by-SA 4.0 via Wikimedia Commons]. World Elephant Day is the last day of this trecena.

Currently this is the 340th Gregorian anniversary of the start of the Pueblo Revolt in New Mexico in 1680, and the 80th anniversary of the day in 1940 when The Luftwaffe (German Air Force) made
a systematic assault on RAF airfields and radar stations in Britain. This is also the UN’s International Youth Day, with this year’s theme being “Youth Engagement for Global Action”.

This is also World Elephant Day, which is a good time to remember that these amazing beings are in need of help in many places on this planet. The World Elephant Day website lists many ways in which people can help.
