Maya Count Of Days Horoscope

Maya Calendar Energies At Work In The World

It has now been just over nine months since “the great darkness” fell in the US, and during those nine months the darkness has deepened, and deepened, and deepened – to the point where even an historic part of the People’s House has been obliterated by that darkness. During such times, of course, people start searching for ways to get past the bleakness – looking for points of light, looking for anything that will provide a sense of comfort and hope for the future.

Nine months ago it became blatantly obvious, as Canadian journalist Andrew Coyne wrote at the time, that the government of the United States has been taken over by “a gangster, whose sole purpose in running, besides staying out of jail, is to seek revenge on his enemies.” Coyne summed it up by saying that: “We are living in the time of Nero.”

By the time the Ok trecena came into place last February, with the fires of destruction burning everywhere, it had become clear that the orange mobster was assaulting the rule of law in every direction, as he and his cohorts were taking a wrecking ball to whole government departments, wreaking havoc in so many directions, and causing such chaos, that the situation was seen as a Polycrisis.

But it was the Ok trecena that brought in glimmers of hope, through the courts, through local initiatives, and on the streets, as people began finding very creative ways to push back against the horrors that were unfolding. As Rachel Maddow stated, on One Ok, the first day of this period, on her MSNBC show, “There is push back on every front in every way.” And while these are not “normal” times, in any way, it was interesting to see the vestiges of the ancient Maya conceptions of these energies still showing through, still at play in the world at large.

Traditionally, the first day of this time frame (One Ok) was celebrated as a Feast Day of Renewal, oriented around the idea of guidance, justice, and the restoration of life. Thought of as being under the patronage of Xipe Tótec, the Lord of Renewal, and Quetzalcóatl, Lord of Life, this trecena was seen as a time when a new sense of direction in conjunction with the energies of renewal come into play. The Aztec deity known as Xipe Tótec, who was generally depicted wearing a flayed skin, symbolic of the “sloughing off” of the old and the bursting forth of the new, symbolized this idea.

Adaptation of the Ok (Dog) trecena from the pre-Columbian Codex Borgia by artist Richard Balthazar (used with permission). The first day (One Ok) is represented by the little head of a white dog (with a black eye) at the lower left (within the border). The other days of this trecena proceed from there to the right, and then up towards the top, to the little duck-beaked mask image at the upper right, which represents Ik’ (Wind). The daysign numbers pertaining to this trecena (beginning with One Ok) are not shown, but implied. The two patron deities associated with this trecena are shown in the larger image at the top. On the left sits Xipe Tótec, the Lord of Renewal, and on the right is Quetzalcóatl, the great “Feathered Serpent”, the Lord of Life, who is often associated with Justice. Click here for an overview of Richard’s various other versions of the same trecena.

One of the key symbols associated with this time frame is a dog holding a torch, bringing light into the darkness and showing the way, as has happened many times in the past during this period. The Feathered Serpent, shown in the trecena image above, echoes the idea of “cyclical regeneration” and renewal.

Again, one of the things that the Maya Calendar offers is the opportunity to look at the evolution of life from the perspective of energy cycles, as “themes” related to events have a way of returning and evolving in a cyclical manner. Indeed, past events reveal that one of the themes that has tended to be highlighted during this time frame is that of justice and accountability – which was very much the case two cycles ago when the monster now in the White House was judged to be Guilty on 34 felony counts in the hush money case.

Similarly, it was the first day of this trecena four cycles ago (in December of 2022), when the Jan. 6th committee in Washington DC met for the final time, as they made public the criminal referrals that resulted from their investigations. On the fourth day (4 B’en), they released their final report and recommendations for prosecution.

In 2019 it had been the first day of this trecena when Special Counsel Mueller’s investigation concluded its probe into Russian interference with the 2016 election, at which time he insisted that he did not exonerate Trump. He reported that his investigation had found that Russian intelligence officers had used sophisticated cyber techniques to hack into computers and networks used by the Clinton campaign.

Back in the early 1960’s this was the trecena in place when President John Fitzgerald Kennedy was not only inaugurated as the 35th US president, but also assassinated and interred.

During the following decade this was the time frame that brought an end to the whole Nixon era, culminating with the Watergate scandal. Indeed, it was the first day of this trecena in 1974 when the US Supreme Court ruled that Richard Nixon had to turn over the recordings that included “The Smoking Gun Tape” which contained evidence of his obstruction of justice. Three days later the first of three articles of impeachment against him were passed, and Nixon resigned shortly thereafter.

During the summer of 2016 this was the time frame within which Hillary Clinton made history by becoming the first female to be officially nominated as a presidential candidate by a major US political party. We all know what happened after that.

And then there was one cycle ago, when the U.S. was reeling from the chaos spewing forth from the White House as a monstrous felon, aided by the world’s richest man, was firing grenades disguised as executive orders from the White House that were severely impacting the lives of millions of people. As Andrew Coyne pointed out, the government of the United States was in the hands of a demented, revenge-seeking gangster, and everything, everywhere seemed to be “on fire”. As Senator Chris Murphy bluntly echoed – even the U.S. Constitution was “being lit on fire.”

But keep in mind that even though those fires caused enormous destruction, they also brought in a new kind of light – a grass roots kind of light that is getting stronger every day. In Mesoamerican mythology, the symbol of a dog holding a torch, as if to light the way, is a good metaphor for this period, as this is when those sparks of light begin to appear, and new directions begin to be formulated.

And indeed, there are many examples of people “holding high” the torch, to light the way forward, during this period, as could be seen in 1961 when, during his inauguration speech on the eighth day of this time period, John F. Kennedy said that “In the long history of the world, only a few generations have been granted the role of defending freedom in its hour of maximum danger. I do not shrink from this responsibility –I welcome it. . . . . The energy, the faith, the devotion which we bring to this endeavor will light our country and all who serve it–and the glow from that fire can truly light the world.”

John F. Kennedy stamp. It is intriguing that there is a torch on this stamp, reflective of a key symbol for this Ok trecena, as this is the trecena during which he was inaugurated, and during which he was assassinated. That amazing speech, delivered almost 65 years ago, shed light on civil rights issues during that period and “rallied people to the cause”. It highlighted the need for people to step up and defend freedom “in its hour of maximum danger”, at that time. But sadly, unthinkably, it is not just certain freedoms that are now in danger, it is the U.S. constitution and democracy itself that is under severe threat, not only from the tyrant in the White House, but from all the sychophants that have been installed in key positions in U.S. government departments – even in the DoJ and Pentagon! As so many observers have remarked over the past few days, people are no longer wondering if authoritarianism would descend on the U.S., they realize that it already has descended. As one of the key members of the resistance put it: “American Democracy has already collapsed, America’s checks and balances have collapsed. It is a moment of a “maximum abuse of power”, a moment of “deep, deep, deep danger”.

But Ezra Levin, the co-founder and co-Executive Director of the resistance movement Indivisible, the force behind the massive No Kings movement, has clearly defined the nature of where they go from here. As he emphatically stated, just three days before the start of this trecena:

The era of capitulation and obey in advance is over. The No Kings era is here, and it’s defined by widespread mass defiance of this regime. That’s why we’re launching the No Kings Alliance, a nationwide Rapid Response Network built for this moment to coordinate pushback … The alliance is an effort to coordinate the full diversity of our movement and use the leverage that we have with the people power we’ve collectively built.

This is a key moment, a moment when torches are being lit all over that country and people in every state, from every persuasion, stand up and say No to tyranny. One cycle ago, when it became so evident that the Nero who had taken over the White House had no respect for the people whatsoever, it was clear that the people would need “all hands on deck” in order to push back against those dark forces that were assaulting the country on multiple levels. And the recent No Kings Day marches that brought over seven million people into the streets underscored the bravery and creativity of those millions as they made their voices heard.

As the next chapter plays out over the next 13 days, let’s keep in mind that this was the trecena in place during World War II at the time when British and Allied forces were knocked back to the beaches of Dunkirk in 1940 as they became trapped by the German army. For some “still debated” reason the Germans halted their advance on Dunkirk for several days near the beginning of this trecena, which allowed the Allies to organize an evacuation. Over 800 vessels, both large and small, raced to the rescue of over 338,000 Allied troops as the call for assistance went out. It was a seemingly impossible situation that was turned around by the unselfish actions of people who leapt into the breach throughout this trecena to save the lives of all those men who were cornered in a hellish situation. The bravery and force of intent that went into that operation of rescuing those troops from the Dunkirk beaches became known as the “Dunkirk Spirit”. That is the kind of spirit that is now rallying the citizens of the U.S., as they gather more and more push-back strength.

To help with that effort, Xipe Tótec, the ancient Mesoamerican Lord of Renewal, and Quetzalcóatl, Lord of Life, Knowledge, and Culture, the patrons of this time frame, are “in place” during this period to offer their superpowers in this mighty effort to regain sanity, equilibrium, justice, and accountability. Here are the energies that will be in play:

Fire Dog, holding a torch, from the Dresden Codex

1 Ok (Oct. 24th) “One Dog” – the “initiation of love, loyalty, warmth, guidance”, an energy associated with regeneration, sometimes depicted as a dog holding a torch, leading the way through the darkness. Currently this is coinciding with the 80th Gregorian anniversary of the day when the UN’s Charter came into effect in 1945. (That was also an Ok day – 5 Ok.)

Traditionally, this was an ancient Maya Feast Day of Renewal, the festive day associated with a deity known to the Aztec as Xiuhtecuhtli, associated with the renewal of time and the creation of life itself. He was sometimes depicted as Huehuetéotl – the Old, Old [Fire] God, whose image was often shown on braziers. Associated with purification, transformation, the regeneration of natural cycles, and even the regeneration of the cosmos, Huehuetéotl-Xiuhtecuhtli presided over New Fire ceremonies (marking Calendar Round returns, every 52 years) and the lighting of the fires of renewal. It is not unusual to see Xiuhtecuhtli associated with Xipe Tótec, the Lord of Renewal, who oversees this time frame.

The ancient Florentine Codex tells us that, on this day, people “fed the fire” with offerings (including decorative paper arrays) and different forms of incense. Rulers were elected on this day, and a court of justice was held during which sentencing was pronounced on wrong-doers.

In 1974 this was the energy in place when the US Supreme Court ruled that Richard Nixon had to turn over the recordings that included “The Smoking Gun Tape” which contained evidence of his obstruction of justice. Three days later the first of three articles of impeachment against him were passed, and Nixon resigned shortly thereafter. How did we get from there to the current situation wherein unthinkably high levels of governmental lawlessness and “obstruction of justice” appear to be an on-going daily occurrence in the US? Indeed, some are now calling this out, as did Democratic Senator Jeff Merkley, who gave a marathon speech (22 hours + 36 min.) on the Senate floor just two days before this trecena began, to warn about authoritarianism and to emphasize how the thug in the White House and his motley crew are posing the “biggest threat to the Republic since the civil war”. He did this just prior to his 69th birthday, which is today.

In 1991 this was the energy in place when the Act of Declaration of Independence (from the USSR) was adopted by the Ukrainian parliament, thereby establishing Ukraine as an independent state. In 2022 this was in place when Viktor Orbán and his right-wing government won a fourth term in the parliamentary elections in Hungary. As Orbán visited Mar-a-Lago several times prior to the 2024 presidential election in the US, it has to be more than “mere coincidence” that the Orange Felon has been following Orbán’s playbook in his rush to dismantle democracy in the U.S. Taking a wrecking ball to the historic East Wing of the White House, two days after the massive No Kings Day demonstrations against him, can be seen as a vivid metaphor for how he has been taking a wrecking ball to U.S. democracy.

Currently this is World Development Information Day, oriented around the idea that improving the dissemination of information and the mobilization of public opinion, particularly among young  people, would lead to greater awareness of world problems and help to promote international  cooperation in the search for solutions. Indeed, one of the greatest needs at this time is to find ways to help young people (and everyone else) to develop the skills needed to separate fact from falsehood, in this age when the rampant, wilful, and destructive proliferation of disinformation is causing enormous problems in the world at large.

On a completely different note, this is the day for Game One of baseball’s World Series Finals, with the Toronto Blue Jays playing against the Los Angeles Dodgers. This series will play out through much of this trecena, giving millions of people an opportunity to focus on some “friendly competition”, a respite from the daily horrors of political machinations.

2 Chuwen (Oct. 25th) – a dynamic type of energy traditionally aligned with creativity, often involving some kind of “intense heat”, on the 25th day of the US government shutdown. The “artistry” aspect of this influence is marking this 200th anniversary of the birth of Austrian “Waltz King” Johann Strauss II, the highlight of a year-long celebration of his bicentenary, which has included tribute concerts and related events in many different cities. His Maya birth energy is 13 Ik’, the final day of this trecena. Currently, this is also the 21st anniversary of International Artist Day.

Metaphorically 2 Chuwen can be seen as a solar force within a fire-oriented time frame, so this energy can often trigger intense engagement and action, as it did on that dramatic day in 1970 when the Apollo 13 spacecraft successfully returned to Earth after its aborted mission to the moon.

Five cycles ago this energy was in place when the UN released a critical report on climate change that highlighted the fact that harmful carbon emissions between 2010-2019 were the highest ever in human history – proof that the world is on a “fast track” to disaster. At that time scientists were emphatically pointing out that it’s ‘now or never’ to limit global warming to 1.5 degrees. Since then slow action and climate change denialism have not only hindered climate change progress, but scientists are now predicting that global heating is likely to reach 2C by 2045, which could supercharge extreme weather across the world, unless solar geoengineering is deployed. But in the U.S., problematically, those kinds of systems are also being destroyed.

Three cycles ago, which was almost one cycle exactly after the release of the Jan. 6th committee’s final report in the U.S., the Orange Felon and 18 other co-defendants were arraigned in Georgia on a wide range of charges (including racketeering) associated with election interference. On that same day a federal judge ruled that Trump was liable for defamatory comments he made in 2019 about writer E. Jean Carroll. He was ordered to pay her $5m as a part of that New York civil lawsuit, the first of two against him that she won. Two cyles ago this was in place as the hush money trial was nearing its conclusion.

3 Eb’ (Oct. 26th) – the activation of “animating vitality”, a pathfinding/stream-of-consciousness type of force, at the start of the 47th ASEAN Summit, in Kuala Lumpu, which will be attended by more than 30 heads of state, including ASEAN leaders and the presidents of the U.S., India, and Brazil. This particular summit is seen as one of the largest in ASEAN’s history.

Back in December of 2022 this was the energy in place when Ukraine’s President Zelenskyy met with President Biden in Washington, and addressed a joint session of Congress, in a bid to secure help from the U.S. for his battle to protect his country from the Russian invaders. Now, four cycles later, with the horrific war still raging, and the current U.S. head of state continuously flip-flopping, President Zelenskyy is fully aware that EU leaders are much more reliable allies in this battle against oppression. At the recent EU meeting, leaders were reviewing the plan to use Russia’s immobilised assets, currently held in Brussels, to issue a €140 billion interest-free loan to Ukraine to plug its budget deficit and provide reliable military support. When this gets its final approval, Ukraine’s defences will be significantly bolstered.

In Mexico City this is the day for the Parade of the Catrinas, where people mock the superficiality of society’s upper classes by wearing elaborate attire and skeletal face paint. It is also the first day of the 2-day Pan de Muerto and Chocolate Festival in Coyoacán, Mexico, all part of the Day of the Dead festival season in Mexico.

4 B’en (Oct. 27th) – a “defining” type of energy associated with personal authority, traditionally seen as “the ruler’s day sign”, the day when new Maya lords and rulers were installed and large amounts of tribute were paid to them. Traditionally, this was seen as a propitious day for the drilling of a New Fire (a renewal ritual) because naui acatl (Nahuatl for 4 B’en) meant “fire drills in all 4 directions”.

This 4 B’en energy has often been highly consequential in world and U.S. history, as this was in place when the first article of impeachment was approved against Richard Nixon in 1974, and in place when Hillary Clinton made history in 2016 by becoming the first female to be officially nominated as a presidential candidate. It was also in place at the time of the assassination of President John F. Kennedy in 1963.

Four cycles ago, in December of 2022, the Jan. 6th committee released its final report under this influence. The report, spanning hundreds of pages, recommended criminal charges (for insurrection against the government, obstruction of an offical proceeding of Congress, and conspiracy to defraud the government) against Trump and others involved in plotting, or taking part in, the attack against the U.S. Capitol. At that time Rep. Liz Cheney also said that the dumpster’s refusal to stop the riot was a “clear dereliction of duty”. She emphasized that “No man who would behave that way at that moment in time can ever serve in any position of authority in our nation again. He is unfit for any office.” Then, exactly one cycle later (in September of 2023), the Georgia Special Grand Jury released its final report on the plot to overturn the election, and its recommendations for criminal charges.

This was also the Maya birth energy of Emmeline Pankhurst, who organized the UK suffragette movement in the early 1900s.

5 Ix (Oct. 28th) – a “precision” type of energy associated with mystery and transformation, and even rulership, as was in place in November of 2020, the day of that U.S. presidential election, when Joe Biden had to “battle for the soul of America”. Although he won on that day, it has become crystal clear that the battle continues.

In 1919 this was the energy in place at the opening of the Paris Peace Conference for negotiation of treaty settlements after World War I, and then again in 1939 when Canada declared war on Germany. One cycle after that, in May of 1940, this energy was in place at the start of the huge efforts to undertake evacuations from Dunkirk beaches during World War II.

6 Men (Oct. 29th) – a “stabilizing” type of energy associated with the high vision of the eagle, on the opening of the 2-day Paris Peace Forum at the historic Palais de Chaillot in Paris, with this year’s theme being: “New Coalitions for Peace, People and the Planet”.

This is also the day of China’s Double Ninth (Chongyang) Festival, aka Height Ascending Festival or Chrysanthemum Festival, aka Seniors’ Day – the day when many will visit the graves of ancestors to pay respects and clean the stones. As chrysanthemums are considered to have cleansing qualities these flowers are also prominent at this time. The Chinese pronunciation for the word “nine” is similar to that for the word “forever”, symbolizing longevity.

In addition, this is World Stroke Day, with the theme this year being “Every Minute Counts”, highlighting the importance of recognizing symptoms early and responding quickly.

This high-flying “6 Eagle” force was the energy in place in 1946 when the first ever photo of Earth from space was taken from a German V-2 rocket launched from New Mexico.

It has now been 13 Tzolk’in cycles exactly since Hillary Clinton delivered her acceptance speech as the Democratic nominee for President at the 2016 DNC, with every expectation that she would actually be elected president. How different the world would be now if she had not had that win stolen from her through Russian interference in the election.

The last time this was in place Trump signed an executive order requiring federal agencies to work with the Elon Musk-led DOGE to make “large-scale” workforce reductions. As Musk “held court” in the Oval Office he clearly “overshadowed” the dumpster, as he defended his outsized role in the gutting of federal agencies, and tried to dismiss concerns about his own clear conflicts of interest, since six of his businesses were dealing with investigations, complaints or regulatory actions from 11 of the U.S. federal agencies he had taken a leading role in drastically cutting back or reshaping. The whole bizarre (and terrifying) episode had people wondering who was actually in charge in the White House.

On that same day several Democratic state attorneys-general warned that the U.S. was in the grip of a full-blown constitutional crisis, as they battled Trump in court over actions they argued were lawless and in some cases brazenly unconstitutional. The Attorney-General of Arizona stated that “We are on the brink of a dictatorship, and America has never been in a more dangerous position than she is today.”

Nine months later there is general agreement that they are no longer “on the brink”, but are now fully in the midst of a catastrophic situation, in which the head of the country is brazenly committing lawless acts on almost a daily basis. The fact that he literally took a wrecking ball to the historic East Wing of the White House, two days after over 7 million people voiced their dissent in over 2700 locations across the country, says it all!

7 Kib’ (Oct. 30th) – a self-generating type of energy, often associated with engendering the kind of thought that can lead towards taking practical actions and “restoring order”, coinciding with the 11th anniversary of the day in 2014 when Sweden became the first EU member in western Europe to officially recognize the state of Palestine and confirm the Palestinians’ right to self-determination. Currently 15 out of 27 EU members recognize the state of Palestine, and 157 of the 193 member states of the United Nations have officially recognized Palestine as a sovereign state.

This was the energy in place when the first Earth Day was celebrated on April 22, 1970 when some 20 million Americans poured into the streets to demand environmental justice, in one of the largest single day protests in human history. Two cycles ago this was in place as the summations and closing arguments were made in the Trump hush money trial in New York.

In 1963 this was in place at the time of President John F. Kennedy’s state funeral and burial, after he was assassinated several days earlier.

8 Kab’an (Oct. 31st) – a “resurrection” type of energy associated with “evolutionary” movement, coinciding with the 85th Gregorian anniversary of the end of the Battle of Britain in 1940.

Currently this is the opening day of the two-day APEC (Asia-Pacific-Economic Cooperation) summit, involving 21 member economies, in Gyeongju, South Korea. As with the ASEAN Summit a few days earlier, several world leaders will be in attendance, including Trump, Canada’s Prime Minister Carney, Japanese Prime Minister Takaichi, and Mexico’s President Sheinbaum.

Hallowe’en is on 8 Kab’an. Photo by Toni Cuenca, Pexels.

This is both Hallowe’en and Samhain, associated with the ancient Celtic festival that marked the end of harvest and the beginning of winter and “the dark half of the year”. The UK has recently revived the medieval tradition of giving out “soul cakes” to commemorate the departed at this time.

This is also the UN’s 12th global celebration of World Cities Day, with this year’s observance being held in Bogotá, Colombia, around the theme of people-centred smart cities.

Note that in 1961 this was the energy in place at the time of the inauguration of President John F. Kennedy, at which time he called for “high standards of strength and sacrifice”, and for “invoking the wonders of science”, as he called for unification to “undo the heavy burdens”. Near the end of his speech were the immortal words: “ask not what your country can do for you – ask what you can do for your country”. There is a universe of difference between the values and ideals that he was speaking of at that time and the abominations associated with the current U.S. presidency.

This is former President Jimmy Carter’s Maya birth energy, with his 100th birthday celebrated just over a year ago. His passing in late December spared him from having to witness the appalling destruction that is now unfolding at all levels of the U.S. government.

When this energy was in place in November of 2020, seven cycles ago, the states that were still finishing up with vote counting all flipped in Joe Biden’s favour, as everyone awaited the final tally. That was when Washington Post columnist Peter Marks tweeted, with regard to the dumpster: “He will never have another good day. Loser label will haunt him. The law will pursue him. Mental illness will hobble him. His properties will bankrupt him.” And most of that was exactly what was happening during the investigations and prosecutions associated with his civil and criminal indictments. So how is it at all possible that he was “re-elected”? How can that possibly be????

9 Etz’nab’ (Nov. 1st) – representative of “outwardly-projecting” flint, a “spark-oriented” (and even knife-edged) type of energy that can be quite dramatic and consequential – an energy that often serves to bring something to a definite conclusion, as it did exactly two cycles ago when the jury in the Orange Felon’s hush money case delivered a verdict of Guilty on all 34 felony counts. For many there was a tremendous sense of elation at that time, as it seemed that finally, finally the justice system was extracting some sort of accountability for this long series of crimes. Who could have imagined that just one cycle later he would be tearing down the entire U.S. justice system and that one cycle after that he would be ripping into the White House itself?

Contrast this with what was happening in 1963, when this energy was in place five days after the assassination of President John F. Kennedy, at which time President Johnson gave an address to the joint session of Congress when he strongly advocated for the earliest possible passage of JFK’s civil rights bill.

When this energy was in place six cycles ago Joe Biden was declared the winner of the 2020 election. He then delivered a highly inspirational victory speech in Wilmington, Delaware, during which he pledged “to be a President who seeks not to divide but to unify”. Congratulations poured in from leaders around the world. During his leadership President Biden worked tirelessly to bring in beneficial legislative reforms, and contributed significantly to helping western nations remain united in assisting Ukraine with its defence against Russia. Again, the contrast between then and now is gargantuan.

Currently this is:
• The start of Black Consciousness month in Brazil and National Native-American Heritage month in the US. It is also the start of the 30th RNCI Red Nation International Film Festival (The Authentic Voice of American Indian and Indigenous Cinema), celebrating culture and community through storytelling, which runs from Nov. 1-16th. • The 35th anniversary of Métis Settlements Proclamation Day, in celebration of the 1990 proclamation by the Alberta government to provide a unique form of government for Métis settlements, to help them gain local autonomy and achieve self-sufficiency.

• All Saints’ Day and Dia de los Inocentes – the part of Mexico’s Day of the Dead festival that focuses on remembrances for the young who have died. The final day of the celebration is the next day. Marigolds are prominent at this time in Mexico. This is also the day for Dia de Los Muertos at Hollywood Forever

• The 31st anniversary of World Vegan Day, in celebration of the benefits of veganism for animals, humans, and the natural environment.

• The long awaited Grand opening for the billion dollar Grand Egyptian Museum, the largest archaeological museum in the world. This will be the first of three days of celebration, which will be attended by world leaders, dignitaries, and government and cultural representatives.

• The final game of World Series playoffs, with the Toronto Blue Jays playing against the Los Angeles Dodgers

10 Kawak (Nov. 2nd) – “foundational storm” – an energy associated with intense catalyzation as often can be seen and felt in major energy pushes or strong weather systems, coinciding at this time with the last day of Daylight Saving Time in North America, and Dia de los Muertos (the Day of the Dead) in Mexico and in many other areas, particularly throughout Latin American communities.

Day of the Dead altar in Mexico City

Given the understanding that there is much beyond the end of life on this plane, keep in mind that Mexico’s Day of the Day is all about “laughing” at death. Further, this is All Soul’s Day, the third component of the Christian observances of Allhollowtide (the “time to remember the dead”), that includes All Saints’ Eve (Hallowe’en), All Saints’ Day and All Soul’s Day. Feliz Día de los Muertos! This also marks exactly eight cycles since a dozen towns in northern Italy went into lockdown due to the coronavirus in February of 2020.

11 Ajaw (Nov. 3rd) – an “inspirational sun” or “inspirational enlightenment” Burner Day, the last Burner Day in the Ajaw “Burner” sequence, seen by the Quiche Maya as “Ancestors’s Day”, a day to visit the sacred western mountain of the ancestors and ask for blessings – at the peak of the South Taurids Meteor Shower, overnight to the next day.

In Japan this is Culture Day (Bunka no Hi), a day to celebrate culture and the arts through exhibitions, parades, and festivals – a day that has been celebrated as a national holiday in Japan since 1948.

Currently this is marking six cycles exactly since the Select Committee to Investigate the Jan. 6th Attack on the U.S. Capitol held its first hearing, in July of 2021. During that investigation the committee conducted more than 1,000 closed-door interviews, investigated tens of thousands of documents, and held 10 public hearings. Over 1,500 people were arrested and charged for taking part in that attack, and hundreds were sentenced to lengthy prison terms. And then – on Jan. 21st of this year, the Orange Felon pardoned them all and they were released.

This day also marks seven cycles since the announcement in November of 2020 that a preliminary analysis showed that the “first milestone” vaccine for Covid appeared to offer at least 90% protection. Pfizer and BioNTech described that as a “great day for science and humanity”. That was then . . . but now, after all the firings and appointments of grossly unqualified, and often highly dangerous, people to key positions in the U.S. government the question might be asked: How long will it be before there will ever be another “great day for science and humanity” in that country?

In 1815 this was the energy in place at the time of the Proclamation of Peace on Feb. 18, when the Treaty of Ghent came into effect, marking the offical conclusion to the War of 1812 between the U.S. and Great Britain. This is also the Maya birth energy of Mikhail Gorbachev, the eighth and final President of the Soviet Union, who won a Nobel Peace prize in 1990 for helping to end the Cold War. On Dec. 8, 1987  he and President Reagan signed the Intermediate-range Nuclear Forces agreement at the White House.

12 Imix (Nov. 4th) – a “gathering together” type of force oriented around new beginnings (often “cosmic”), as was in place in 2024 when Claudia Sheinbaum won Mexico’s general election, to become Mexico’s 66th president. That was the 100th anniversary of the day when Pres. Calvin Coolidge signed into law The Indian Citizenship Act of 1924 (aka the Snyder Act) – a bill that granted full citizenship to Native Americans, after their exclusion from the U.S. Bill of Rights for nearly 135 years. It certainly took long enough for them to be recognized in their own country.

In this U.S., this is the day for a number of special elections, including a number of mayoral elections, and special elections for newly vacant seats in the U.S. House of Representatives.

This is also King Tut Day, in commemoration of the day in 1922 when a team of archaeologists led by Howard Carter found the first step leading to the entrance to King Tutankhamen’s tomb in Egypt. This is the day when the Grand Egyptian Museum will reopen for the public.

13 Ik’ (Nov. 5th) – “transformational wind, breath, and spirit”, in conjunction with the Full Beaver Super Moon, at the start of Veterans’ Week in Canada. This is marking eight Tzolk’in cycles since the CDC’s top official on respiratory diseases in the U.S. warned people (in February 2020) to prepare for the inevitability of the community spread of Covid-19, indicating that the “disruption to everyday life might be severe”.

This is the day when the U.S. Supreme Court will hear arguments on whether the Orange Felon could unilaterally, at whim, bypass Congress and impose tariffs on global trading partners through use of the 1977 International Emergency Economic Powers Act. If the Court declares this illegal, billions of dollars will have to be refunded.

This is also:
• Puno Day in Peru, in celebration of the legendary birth of Manco Cápac who was, according to some historians, the first governor and founder of the Inca civilization in Cusco.

• Guy Fawkes day (and Bonfire Night) in the UK, in remembrance of the “Gunpowder Plot” of 1605 when Guy Fawkes tried to blow up the Palace of Westminster during England’s state opening of Parliament.

• The UN’s 9th World Tsunami Awareness Day, part of a campaign to invest in resilient infrastructures, early warning systems, and education to help alleviate tsunami risks. The theme for this special day this year is: “Be Tsunami Ready: Invest in Tsunami Preparedness”.

• The start of the traditional two-day Loy Krathong (Festival of Lights) and Yi Peng (sky lantern) celebrations across Thailand when purification rituals take place to float away bad luck while paying respect to the goddess of water. For Loy Krathong small containers containing candles, incense sticks, and flowers are floated on bodies of water to symbolize the letting go of past mistakes and negative thoughts. The purpose of Loy Krathong is to enlighten the mind and bring good fortune. Loy = “to float” and krathong = “container”.

• The Maya birth energy of Austrian “Waltz King” Johann Strauss II, whose bicentenary was marked on 2 Chuwen, the second day of this time frame.

• One cycle since the “No Kings on Presidents Day” demonstrations – one of the earlier protest days, not long after the Orange Felon’s so-called inauguration.

Note that this is the Maya calendar energy that was in place in 1940 during the final day of the enormous Dunkirk rescue operation during World War II.

Back in 1974 this was the energy in place when President Nixon’s “Smoking Gun” tape was made public, when he had to release transcripts of conversations that took place after the Watergate break-in. This provided the “smoking gun” proof that Nixon had obstructed justice by ordering the FBI to stop its investigation of the break-in. Other transcripts revealed that he had directed a cover-up. Republicans on the Judiciary Committee who had voted against impeachment then announced that they would change their vote. But that was over 50 years ago, long before Republicans sold their souls and allowed their country to be trashed by a madman.
