Maya Count Of Days Horoscope

Maya Calendar Energies At Work In The World

As often happens during the days immediately preceding the Ix trecena, a number of events occurred that open the portals to new possibilities. This included the expiration of the broad surveillance powers associated with the U.S. Patriot Act, a widespread ban on smoking in Beijing, and the long-awaited release of the Truth and Reconciliation Commission’s final report on the abuses imposed on First Nations children for well over a century in the context of 132 government and church-run residential schools in Canada. After interviewing almost 7,000 people over a 6 year period the lengthy report spans six  volumes that detail the atrocities inflicted in that horrific government-sanctioned attempt to “kill the Indian” in the 150,000 children who attended those schools.

This report signals the beginning of the rebuilding of the relationship between First Nations peoples and the rest of Canada, with the start of this Ix trecena coinciding with the “Honouring Memories, Planting Dreams” ceremony that marks the conclusion of the four-day program associated with the release of this report, and the first day on the path towards transformation and rebuilding. Representative of the “initiation of transformation”, this One Ix day will be seen by many as the true start of the recovery from the dark and shameful period in Canada’s history during which the government was attempting to inflict cultural genocide on a particular segment of the population. As the first of its kind in the world, the TRC is also being seen as a model and inspiration by the United Nations Permanent Forum on Indigenous Issues, and by groups in other countries who need to address the legacy of similar historical abominations.

During this Jaguar-oriented time frame there is often an emphasis on significant transformation from one state to another, often pushed forward by individuals who, having “reached their limit” in one way or another are compelled to become “jaguar warriors” who must “go to battle” for a particular cause. For Canada’s First Nations that cause, of course, is reconciliation and healing.

But for some who were born during this time frame it seems that it may be their destiny to be this kind of warrior, as was in the case of French satirical cartoonist Rénald Luzier (aka Luz) who narrowly escaped the massacre at the Charlie Hebdo offices last January, on the day of his 43rd birthday. Even under such tense circumstances Luz was the one who created the cover for the first issue of the magazine published after the attack, wherein he depicted an image of a tearful Mohammad holding a sign that said “All is Forgiven, Je Suis Charlie”.

In the past many awesome transformations have taken place during this energy frame, including a number of trigger points relating to the French Revolution in the 18th century, the start of the Russian Revolution in 1917, the start of the London Blitz in 1940, the massive Tibetan uprising against Chinese aggression in Llasa in 1959, and the mass exodus from Aleppo, Syria in July of 2012 when fierce fighting drove thousands of people to seek new lives elsewhere. During the last appearance of this trecena (last September) the U.S.-led coalition began air strikes against terrorist groups in Syria.

So this is the trecena governed by that “warrior” type of force related to things of the earth, and particularly earth-oriented transformation. Associated with great strength, power, and high rank, this energy is aligned with high magic and even mastery over things of an unseen nature.

The fourth day of the trecena is Four Kab’an, a “defining” energy associated with the sun, Earth, and evolutionary movement. This is the energy represented right in the center of the Aztec Sun Stone, the image that millions mistake for “the Mayan Calendar”. It was under this influence that the massive Live Aid rock concert, called the “greatest live concert ever staged” (watched by 1.5 billion people), earned $80 million U.S. for famine relief in Africa, in 1985. Last year this energy saw the opening of the new Canadian Museum for Human Rights in Manitoba, which highlights many of the issues associated with the work of the TRC.

The Maya day known as 9 Ik’ that comes in on June 11th is the “birth” daysign of Quetzalcóatl, the great Feathered Serpent that traditionally symbolizes Higher Knowledge and represents the portal between Earth and the Heavens. Sometimes portrayed as a “sky cord”, this is the energy that coincides with the planned return from the ISS of Russian cosmonaut Anton Shkaplerov, European astronaut Samantha Christoforreti, and US astronaut Terry Virts. Give that this is the day of their return it is tempting to think of them “sliding down the sky cord” as they make their way home.

Near the end of the trecena we find the return of the exact 11 K’an 12 Sotz’ Calendar Round energy that was in place in June of 1963 when Pres. John F. Kennedy gave his “Ich bin ein Berliner” speech at the Berlin Wall, to a crowd of a million people.

And then two days later we have the return of 13 Kimi, which often packs a punch of some sort, as seen in 2010 when a blast of the brightest X-rays ever detected from deep outer space (from a gamma-ray burst connected with the explosion of a massive star) temporarily blinded the X-ray eye on NASA’s Swift space observatory. That was the same energy that brought in the accession of Queen Elizabeth II in 1952, an event that represented a huge turning point for the U.K. after the death of Elizabeth’s father, King George VI.

As this Ix trecena unfolds, these are the energies that will come into being:

1 Ix (June 3rd) – the initiation of the Jaguar’s power of transformation; the 50th anniversary of the day when Ed White made the first space walk by a U.S. astronaut; a Tzolk’in anniversary of the launch of UN Women in February of 2011

2 Men (June 4th) – the “generation” of the Eagle’s “higher vision”, the 15th Gregorian anniversary of Bruce Springsteen’s first performance of his “American Skin (41 Shots)” song, in honour of the 22 year old Guinean who was shot (41 shots) by police officers the year before

3 Kib’ (June 5th) – an activation energy often associated with the “restoration of order”

4 Kab’an (June 6th) – a “defining” energy associated with evolutionary movement; one cycle since the opening of the new Canadian Museum for Human Rights

5 Etz’nab’ (June 7th) – the “blessing” of “flint” – a “knife edge” type of force that can be quite dazzling and attention-getting, this time in conjunction with the Maximum Elongation E. of Venus.  This is an energy that also has potential to bring things to a definitive conclusion, as in the official surrender of Japan at the end of world War II in 1945.

6 Kawak (June 8th) – a “storm everywhere” force; an energy that often has more to do with the triggering of a “storm of compassion” than a weather related event, as in the huge People’s Climate Change rallies that took place in 161 countries under this energy influence last September; this time this energy coincides with World Oceans Day

7 Ajaw (June 9th) – “self generating” full sun; traditionally a great Aztec feast day devoted to “Seven Flower”, the god of flowers, games, music, and dance; the day when Vanity Fair publishes its July edition which features Bruce Jenner in his new life as Caitlyn.

8 Imix (June 10th) – the “resurrection” of birth; Maya birth energy of cartoonist Luz (noted above), the survivor of the Charlie Hebdo massacre who drew the “Je Suis Charlie” cover following the attack

9 Ik’ (June 11th) – the “outward projection” of wind, breath, spirit, the calendrical daysign of Quetzalcóatl, as noted above; an energy that can “blow” in any direction and bring change, as in tornadoes that have often manifested under this influence. This is the day of the planned return from the ISS of Russian cosmonaut Anton Shkaplerov, European astronaut Samantha Christoforreti, and US astronaut Terry Virts.

10 Ak’b’al (June 12th) – a combination of the foundational energy of “Source” (the number 10) in conjunction with “darkness”, as in the Temple associated with deep esoteric mysteries; the Jaguar energy that runs through this trecena is very much a part of this energy – an excellent day for meditating or “dreaming”

11 K’an (June 13th) – an “inspirational” type of energy associated with youthful vitality, this time in conjunction with St. Anthony’s Feast Day; New Fire anniversary of Pres. John F. Kennedy’s inspirational “Ich bin ein Berliner” speech in Berlin in 1963

12 Chikchan (June 14th) – “dedicated” lifeforce – a powerful force that represents a doubling of the intensity of the Quetzalcóatl energy noted above; this is the type of influence that can significantly draw people into action for a common cause

13 Kimi (June 15th) – “transformational death” (or “transformational foundations”) – a powerful “return to Source” type of force that can often pack a huge punch, as seen in the intense weather systems and even volcanoes have occurred in the past under this influence
