As we embark on the third 52 day period within the 260 day cycle, it’s early summer and in many places it is already blistering hot – both literally and figuratively. Last week it was reported that large parts of Texas were hotter than 99% of the planet, and the thick smoke from wildfires in eastern Canada continue to contribute to very poor air quality throughout that region and into many U.S. states. Temperature records worldwide are being broken due to extreme heat.

At the same time France is dealing with the aftermath of some of the worst street violence in 18 years, and there is concern in Ukraine that Russia may have been trying to sabotage the Zaporizhzhia nuclear plant. In the US, there is considerable concern about Supreme Court corruption and the devasating decisions made by that group near the end of the last trecena, which curtail the rights of many groups of people. To boot, there is chaos at many US airports as airlines scramble to update their systems to 5G capabilities just as the 4th of July holiday weekend comes in, and port workers in B.C. have just gone on strike. So it’s a little tense out there, to say the least!

What is needed, it seems, is some sort of switch to turn down the temperatures in many, many places that appear to be ready to “boil over”. And perhaps that is what this new trecena will bring – opportunities to “fly high” to gain perspective. And as this is the Chikchan trecena, symbolized by the great Feathered Serpent, aligned with Liberation, Awakening, Cyclical Renewal, and Justice, it is possible that some positive solutions or new directions may be forthcoming.

This trecena begins with the energy of One Chikchan, an important shift-point within the overall 260-day period. Marking the start of the third 52-day period within the 260-day cycle, One Chikchan often brings a strong sense of a shift or the turning of a tide, along with a sense of new possibilities. Sometimes it can feel like an emergence, sometimes it can even spin into weather events such as tornadoes, but often it is felt as an infusion of energy, possibly a renewal of determination to pursue particular goals. This is a time frame that can push people into action in significant ways. Great passion, and even bravery, often comes into play at this time, particularly if people are in pursuit of justice. And considering the very strong calls for justice that can be seen in so many areas, it is likely that there will be a great deal of action in this regard during this period, particularly after the developments towards the end of the last trecena.

The Aztec saw the principal “patron” of this time frame as a deity known as Xiuhtecuhtli, the Lord of Fire and Time, who often “kicks things up a notch” in order to foment change. His companion in this effort is a deity representative of Venus as the Morning Star, who serves as a herald – signalling that this is a time to really “pay attention”.

Five cycles ago this was the trecena in place when “a new viral outbreak” (later called Covid-19) was first detected in China in early December of 2019. At first this outbreak was downplayed, but near the end of the trecena it was learned that a “cluster” of patients with “pneumonia of an unknown cause” had been identified, and then a huge planetary change took place – at lightning speed!

Then, three cycles ago, towards the end of the third Covid wave, things began changing in the opposite direction, as mask mandates began to be lifted in some areas, theatres began reopening, case numbers were trending downwards, and people began to slowly emerge, savouring opportunities to become part of the world again, and feeling a new sense of freedom as they began to interact and reconstruct their lives post-pandemic. There were still many areas under quarantine, many cautions were still in place, but it was a beginning.

Historically, the beginning of this trecena had brought many radical changes, as seen in 1914 when Germany declared war against France, and in 1918 when the German Weimar Republic was founded just as World War I was coming to an end. In 1990 Germany became unified at the start of this trecena. In 1521 this had been in place when the Aztecs surrendered to the Spaniards, sealing the fate and future direction of Mexico.

And now there is the situation regarding Russia and Ukraine. As this trecena opens it marks one cycle exactly since Putin said there would be no more massive strikes on Ukraine. Then, two days later, he attacked Kyiv with 42 “kamikaze” drones, most of which were shot down, except one that hit a residential building. One cycle before that it had become clear that Putin was moving his troops around to get into position to launch the first attack. So if Putin makes some statement along the lines of “no need for concern” regarding Zaporizhzhia, it would likely be a signal to take cover Fast! However, there is also the possibility, given recent developments regarding a potential mutiny, that more unravelling among Russia’s ranks could take place during this period, as Ukraine moves forward with its counteroffensive. Indeed, last week the head of the CIA commented about “the corrosive effect of Putin’s war on his own society and his own regime”, and noted that the war has already been “a strategic failure for Russia”. Given the nature of this trecena, it would not be surprising to some major gains for Ukraine.

During this period one of the major themes that tend to play out is that of Justice, and it seems that a great deal is in the works in this regard, at the present time.

The last time this trecena was in place the January 6th committee in the U.S. was uncovering considerable evidence regarding the plotting that went into the fomenting of the Capitol riot. Evidence was presented to show that the dumpster had privately conceded that he had lost the election, but he “didn’t want people to know”, and had been significantly instrumental in provoking the insurrection, which not only put lawmakers and peacekeepers into great danger, but also led to several deaths and many severe injuries. At that time this trecena also brought the beginning of the New York criminal trial against the Trump Organization and ex-CFO Allen Weisselberg. Trump was also deposed in the E. Jean Carroll defamation lawsuit during this period.

Currently the 9th day of this time frame marks five cycles exactly since Democrats formally impeached the dumpster, for abuse of power (by putting his own personal interests above the interests and security of the US) and obstruction of Congress. Those two articles, in the words of the eminent Harvard Law professor and constitutional expert Laurence Tribe, were the most serious abuses of power ever alleged against a sitting president – and that was well before the espionage changes were brought with regard to the documents case. Note as well that the impeachment action took place two cycles after that infamous meeting between the dumpster and President Putin in Helsinki when Putin blatantly admitted to directing his officials to help Trump win the 2016 election. Currently, with so many other investigations and an impending trial in the works, all relating to the dumpster, it is likely that new developments in this regard will be forthcoming during this time frame.

It is also highly likely that there will be much discussion during this time period about the ever-increasing issues associated with the US Supreme Court, as more and more ethics issues are uncovered concerning several of the judges. Their highly biased decisions recently have been a cause of great concern. As always, a great deal will be in motion during this period, and the battle for truth, accountability, and justice will be in high swing.

As always, this trecena marks a pivotal point within the overall 260 day Tzolk’in cycle. It is the beginning of an often transformative time frame oriented around justice, freedom, higher knowledge, cyclical renewal, and world-shifting actions. This is the energy field of the Plumed Serpent, a metaphor for “reaching for the sky”, towards Life and Light and Liberation, and the realm of new possibilities. With the “Lord of Fire and Time” as the patron energy, this provides a reminder that great shifts can happen during this period. Here are the energies that are coming into play:

1 Chikchan (July 2nd) – the “initiation” of Lifeforce/Higher Wisdom at the start of the third 52-day period within the 260-day cycle, an intense and highly influential position within the overall cycle, coinciding at this time with World UFO Day (also celebrated by some on June 24th). Click here for a short discussion on “Understanding UFO’s” with theoretical physicist Dr. Michio Kaku.

This will be the first day of Euclid’s month-long journey to a position of gravitational stability between Earth and the sun called the Lagrange point two, or L2, from which it will use a wide-angle telescope to survey galaxies “far, far away”. This just-launched European-built orbital satellite will be on a mission to shed new light on dark energy and dark matter, the mysterious cosmic forces scientists say account for 95% of the known universe. Scientists are expecting that information obtained from this mission will transform astrophysics and perhaps our understanding of the nature of gravity.

As this trecena opens, half the US is sweltering under a severe heat dome, and millions are under smoke alerts due to out of control wildfires in Canada, as this day marks 13 cycles, exactly, since the release, in 2014, of the 2610 page report by the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change on the perils of climate change and the dire need to cut greenhouse gas emissions. As this day is in place as people in the US are travelling for the 4th of July, it is anticipated that there will be massive travel disruptions at this time. Similarly, Canadians are going to have to brace for the implications of a port workers strike in B.C., which could foment major supply chain issues.

Precisely five cycles ago (in December 2019) this energy was in place when Democrats unveiled two articles of impeachment against the dumpster – for abuse of power (by putting his own personal interests above the interests and security of the US) and for obstruction of Congress, the most serious abuses of power ever alleged against a sitting president. That was just the beginning, as a head-swivelling number of civil and federal charges have been brought against him since then, including for violations of the Espionage Act. As trial dates are being considered and a number of other important investigations are nearing their conclusion, it is anticipated that many more charges could soon be forthcoming (possibly even during this trecena or the next), which, as predicted by Harvard Law professor Laurence Tribe, could include conspiracy to interfere with an election, and seditious conspiracy with regard to the Jan. 6th insurrection. At the time that these investigations were getting underway professor Tribe had predicted that bringing such charges would signal “the beginning of national healing”. The possibility of wire fraud charges (for raising funds on the basis of lies) has also been discussed.

Other significant events that have occurred under this influence include:

• the Aztec surrender to the Spaniards in 1521, which sealed the fate and future direction of Mexico
•  Germany’s declaration of war against France in 1914
• John F. Kennedy’s victory speech in 1960, after he narrowly won the US presidential election the day before

 

2 Kimi (July 3rd) – a dynamic type of energy aligned with the “return to source” which often manifests as a push-pull type of force that can shake things up and set new foundations for action, as it did in 1914 when Germany invaded Belgium and the UK declared war on Germany. On Nov. 11, 1918, this was also in place as World War I came to an end. The last time this was in place (last October) China held its 20th National People’s Congress, involving 2,300 delegates, at which time President Xi Jinping was reinstated. At that time some 65 million people in China were still under semi-lockdown relating to Covid.

Currently this coincides with the Full Buck Moon, at a time when the antlers of male deer are in full-growth mode. It is also known as the Feather Moulting Moon (Cree) and Salmon Moon (Tlingit). This one will appear as a Supermoon, as it will seem bigger and brighter than normal.

Five cycles ago (in Dec. of 2019) this energy saw the start of the two-day House Judiciary debates relating to those articles of impeachment against the dumpster, and three cycles ago (in May of 2021) a deal was reached to put together a bipartisan Jan. 6th Commission into action, to investigate the insurrection at the US Capitol.

3 Manik’ (July 4th) – the “activation” of reciprocity, symbolized by a deer that “embodies” the sun on Earth, a kind of harmonizing, “hands-on” type of energy connected with the natural world, coinciding at this time with Independence day celebrations in the U.S.

This marks five cycles since “a new viral outbreak” (later called Covid-19) was first detected in China in early December of 2019, but not broadcast in China until several weeks later. The last time this was in place (last October) a congressional report was released that revealed that the Trump administration had “engaged in an unprecedented campaign of political interference in the federal government’s pandemic response, which undermined public health to benefit the former president’s political goals”.

This also marks four cycles since the huge “Get Your Knee Off Our Necks” Commitment March (in August 2020) that called for police reform, criminal justice reform, and racial equality. In 1913 a massive Woman’s Suffrage parade was held under this same 3 Manik’ influence.

4 Lamat (July 5th) – a “defining” energy associated with Venus (representing the sun and Venus working together), often serving as a beacon or herald, coinciding at this time with Venezuela’s Independence Day (Cinco de Julio) and Armed Forces Day, on the 212th anniversary of its declaration of autonomy from Spanish rule. (Venezuela became the first independent country in South America.) Unfortunately, the dispute over the leadership of that country continues as Venezuela’s socialist party has continued to hold onto power.

At this point it has been 8 cycles (almost six years) since Republican senator Jeff Flake delivered a searing rebuke of the dumpster on the US Senate floor, citing his “reckless, outrageous, and undignified” behaviour, and pointing out how “the alliances and agreements that ensure the stability of the entire world” were being “routinely threatened by the level of thought that goes into 140 characters”. Three cycles after that (in 2019), with most Republicans still lacking the fortitude to do anything to stop the carnage, the US House Judiciary Committee voted to approve articles of impeachment against the dumpster for abuse of power and obstruction of Congress.

Two cycles ago (in January of 2022) things had gotten so extreme that it had become evident that the dumpster was essentially confessing to seditious conspiracy and “to providing aid and comfort to a violent insurrection”. Since then, as so many have pointed out, he has continued to incriminate himself almost every time he speaks in public, with federal prosecutors now amalgamating all of that as prosecutorial evidence. Given the nature of this particular energy, it is likely that some other kind of “heralding” statement or event could come through at this time.

This is the Maya birth energy of Dr. Li Wenliang, the doctor in Wuhan who issued the first warning to colleagues that there were seven confirmed cases of coronavirus, in December of 2019, despite the fact that Chinese officials were trying to downplay it.

5 Muluk (July 6th) – a “precision” (or “blessing”) type of energy associated with the shape-shifting energy of water, coinciding with the Dalai Lama’s 88th birthday

This is Kupala Night in Ukraine and other Slavic regions. This has traditionally been a night of dancing, tree decorating, bonfires, special foods, and other forms of celebration associated with the longest day and shortest night of the year (this year celebrated on the night of July 6th, into the morning of the 7th, in keeping with the old Julian calendar). It is one of the biggest summer celebrational events in many European countries, symbolic of the birth of the summer sun (Kupalo), at which time “impure forces” are burned in ritual bonfires. Water, fire, and herbs all play an important role in the rituals and celebrations at this time. This symbolic “birth” of the summer sun ties in with the ancient idea of fire having “fertilizing power” – an idea that can also be found in ancient Mesoamerica. It was thought that jumping over a bonfire would help to secure good fortune.

6 Ok (July 7th) – a “shine the light in the darkness, everywhere” type of force, as was in place three cycles ago when the International Energy Agency (IEA), the top global watchdog on energy, warned that investors should not fund new oil, gas and coal supply projects if the world wants to reach net zero emissions by mid-century. That was also the day when the New York Attorney-General’s office announced that it had opened a criminal investigation into the dumpster’s company. One cycle ago (last October) Liz Truss, who was then the UK’s Prime Minister, announced her resignation, after only six weeks in office.

Currently this is World Chocolate Day, and rock legend Ringo Starr’s 83rd birthday. A good day for him to celebrate with chocolate cake! This is also the opening day for the Calgary Stampede.

7 Chuwen (July 8th) –“self-generating play”, a highly creative “time weaving” (and sometimes trick playing) type of energy that can sometimes conjure up things of an unusual nature.

This marks six cycles since the election of Volodymyr Zelenskyy (a comedian) as the new president of Ukraine. Exactly one cycle later the House Judiciary Committee released a 650-page impeachment report related to the dumpster’s attempt to coerce Ukraine into helping to interfere in the 2020 US presidential election. The last time this was in place Steve Bannon, a former Trump advisor and campaign chair, was sentenced to four months in prison on criminal contempt of Congress charges.

Three cycles ago (in May of 2021) this was in place when the US House of Representatives voted to establish the Jan. 6th Commission. On that same day information was released about three major criminal investigations that were unfolding against the dumpster. Now, after more than two years of investigation, a number of criminal charges (including espionage, theft of government documents, and obstruction of justice) have already been laid, others are pending, and trial dates are in the process of being set.

This is the Maya birth energy of Hachikō, a Japanese Akita dog who is now seen as a national hero in Japan, a symbol of loyalty and devotion. His 100th birthday is being honoured in Japan this year.

8 Eb’ (July 9th) – the “resurrection” of the pathfinding energy of vitality, associated with the “dew of life”; a day which the Maya traditionally devoted to the Celebration of Personal Life. This is the “seating” of the Maya month known as the Xul, symbolized by both a dog and a baby jaguar, but also traditionally associated with Kukulcan (known as Quetzalcoatl to the Aztec), the great Feathered Serpent, who was thought to descend from the heavens to collect offerings at the end of this Maya month. By extension, the combination of these symbols also suggests that the Classic Maya “Hero Twins” are also aligned with this month. As Xul can also translate as “end”, it might be interesting to see what kind of “endings” might be coming into view as this month-related energy (Xul) runs through to July 28th.

This marks five cycles since the formation of the American political action committee known as the Lincoln Project, by moderate Republicans in 2019, with the goal of preventing the re-election of the dumpster. They produce scathing anti-Trump videos that highlight the dumpster’s on-going lies
and corruption, as well as the hypocricy of his Republican supporters in Congress. They also highlight Joe Biden’s on-going accomplishments as President, showing how he is “working for America”.

This is the Maya birth energy of both House Speaker Nancy Pelosi and Republican leader Liz Cheney, both of whom are fiercely devoted to truth and to the US Constitution, the rule of law. Both of these lawmakers have shown great strength and resolve in the pursuit of justice with regard to the assault on the Capitol. They have both vowed to do everything possible to ensure the former “president” never again sets foot in the Oval Office.

9 B’en (July 10th) – the “outward projection” of “personal authority” (or “long lasting personal authority”), in place as President Biden meets with Prime Minister Sunak in London, prior to the NATO meeting the following day, and also meets with King Charles at Windsor Castle. This marks seven cycles since the hair-raising “day of infamy” during the summer of 2018 when the dumpster met with Putin in Helsinki and basically threw U.S. intelligence agencies “under a bus” by siding with Putin rather than honouring the work done by US defence organizations. It has also been five cycles exactly since the dumpster was formally impeached (for the first time) by the US House of Representatives.

In 1918 these were the energies in place at the completion of the last major action on the Eastern Front near the end of World War I, with the Bolshevik capitulation.

10 Ix (July 11th) – a “source” based energy associated with the jaguar and the mysteries of the earth, coinciding at this time with opening of the two-day NATO summit in Vilnius, Lithuania, on the 34th anniversary of World Population Day, which was established through the United Nations Development Program in 1989 when the world’s population was considerably less than it is now. It had reached 5 billion two years earlier, and is now over 8 billion (as of last November).

This is the energy that was in place in early 2017 when the dumpster met with nuclear power developers at the White House about sharing nuclear technology with countries in the Middle East, including Saudi Arabia, which raised grave concerns among many lawmakers. One cycle after that (in October of 2017) the Russia scandal in the U.S. officially became a LEGAL case, when indictments were issued against the dumpster’s former campaign chair Paul Manafort, as well as Rick Gates, and George Papadopoulos, relating to such things as money laundering and “conspiracy against the U.S.”.

When this energy was in place last October it brought the start of the New York criminal trial against the Trump Organization and ex-CEO Allen Weisselberg. He was charged with 15 felony counts including criminal tax fraud, grand larceny, falsifying business records, and scheming to defraud the government.

11 Men (July 12th) – “inspirational Eagle” – a Burner Day that can bring about change or a new form of Higher Vision, coinciding at this time with the second day of the NATO summit, and with New York’s “Full Sun of the Grid” Manhattanhenge.

This is the deadline date for negotiations between the Screen Actors Guild and Hollywood studios before the union can call a strike, which would be the first targeting major film and television companies in four decades. If this strike were to take place, this would be in addition to the on-going Writers Guild strike. A good time for some “visionaries” to step in and sort this out!

It has now been two 260-day cycles since it was reported that the National Archives and Records Administration had transported 15 boxes of presidential records from Mar-a-Lago to the National Archives – boxes full of documents that the dumpster had illegally taken. That was before it was discovered that even more documents (including top secret documents) had been hidden at that resort, in violation of the espionage act. Those were the ones seized by the FBI in August of last year. The dumpster has been indicted in this regard, with the trial date pending.

While that was taking place (in early February of last year) Russia had already assembled “70% of military forces needed for a full-scale invasion” of Ukraine. That was when President Biden met with German Chancellor Olaf Scholz to work on how to present a united front against potential Russian military aggression in Ukraine. At the same time French President Emmanuel Macron was meeting with Putin in Moscow – alas to no avail as, just over two weeks later, Russia began its attacks on Ukraine. One cycle after that Rishi Sunak was appointed by King Charles to become the new Prime Minister of the U.K., the first UK Prime Minister of colour.

12 Kib’ (July 13th) – a “gathering together” type of energy, associated with the ability to “survey”, clean things up, and ultimately restore order, coinciding at this time with New York’s “Half Sun on the grid” Manhattanhenge

This marks five cycles (5 x 260 days) since the first cluster of patients with “pneumonia of an unknown cause” was first identified in China in December of 2019, when the world was getting a “head’s up” with regard to the pandemic that was coming.

13 Kab’an (July 14th) – transformational movement (or earth movement), a powerful force that can bring either heavy weather conditions, or significant “movement” of a consequential nature, as it did one cycle ago when Elon Musk completed his $44bn takeover of Twitter, becoming the “Chief Twit”.

At this time this energy is coinciding with Bastille Day in France (French National Day), the 234th anniversary of the storming of the Bastille in Paris in 1789, which was a critical turning point in the French Revolution – a significant event that led to the overthrow of the monarchy. This is likely to be a VERY intense day in France, given the rioting that has been taking place there since June 27th.

This marks three cycles since Earth was hit by a “dense” Coronal Mass Ejection from the sun, creating a minor Geomagnetic Storm, a reminder of the “ripple of a spacetime distortion” that hit Earth under this influence in 2015, and disturbed the detectors in the LIGO observatory, enabling physicists to observe the warping of space-time generated by the collision of two black holes more than a billion light-years from Earth. It still begs the question: Could this have had anything to do with all the weirdness and intensity that has been unfolded on this planet over the past few years? Given that solar activity has been increasing in recent months, as we near the peak of Solar Cycle 25, it is possible that more flares might be forthcoming around this time.

It has now been two cycles since European scientists announced that they had made a major breakthrough in their quest to develop practical nuclear fusion – the energy process that powers the stars. If nuclear fusion can be successfully recreated on Earth it holds out the potential for the production of virtually unlimited supplies of low-carbon, low-radiation energy.
