Maya Calendar Energies At Work In The World

As always, the energies encoded in the calendar continue on. As described in Manual for the Soul, A Guide to the Energies of Life, the 260 day cycle that forms the foundation for the Maya Calendar is comprised of 20 trecenas (weeks), each containing 13 days, each of which represents a unique energy with a very special meaning. These energies as they manifest, at work and at play, are the focus of this blog.

Now we come to the final full trecena of 2024, with an energy sequence that is making its second appearance of the year. During its first time through, last April, it brought a spectacular Total Solar Eclipse that ran from Mexico, through Texas, up through the Eastern US, and on through Canada’s Eastern provinces, with some 32 million people in Read the full article…

Now that the angst and dreariness of November are behind us, transition is in the air – a sense of regrouping as signs of December’s end of the year festivities begin to make their presence known. And during this period two ladies in particular (one in Paris and one in Vancouver) will be drawing the attention of millions, even if Read the full article…

With millions in the US and elsewhere still reeling from the various shock waves that have hit during the past 14 days, the question of “where to go from here?” looms large. Indeed, this is a perilous time for the US, for those still immersed in wars and conflicts, and for the world at large. So what can we expect Read the full article…

This trecena opens with the world in a state of shock and profound disbelief as it becomes evident that a decisive percentage of American citizens made the choice to elect as their next president a convicted felon, proven to be a fraudster, rapist, misogynist, xenophobe, serial liar, insurrectionist, and self-proclaimed admirer of cruel autocrats; someone who has indicated that he Read the full article…

So here we go with the trecena that will carry the US presidential election. It’s “down to brass” tacks time, or – more pertinent to this particular trecena – it’s down to the bare bones foundations of what will follow thereafter. This is the trecena within which the people of the United States will decide whether they want a democracy Read the full article…

What do you think of when you see a field of strong, growing corn? For one thing, those robust, towering, reaching-for-the-sky, maize-producing plants are impressive! And for many, those stalks are seen as the staff of life – the source of abundance and fruitfulness – symbolic of Earth’s bounty. They are also a good reminder, at this time, of what Read the full article…

Let there be light. Let there be sun. Let there be en-LIGHT-enment!! After a seriously wild conclusion to the last trecena, that brought torrential rains to many regions, including Nepal, several states in Mexico, and a large swath of the US southeast, it is evident that there are many places that could use some solar “drying out” at this time. Read the full article…

It was one cycle ago when One Manik’, the first day of this trecena, coincided with New Year’s Eve, and people worldwide were bracing for 2024. At that time there was widespread speculation as people reflected on past events, on the desperate and unresolved issues that kept wars raging, on the turbulent political landscapes that had everyone on edge, on Read the full article…

It’s September, and change is in the air once again. It is a time for transitioning towards a new season that will include many world-shifting events, and as transitions take place over this 13-day period, it is the Jaguar energy of this Ix trecena that will set the pace for what is to follow. This is the energy aligned with Read the full article…

With this beginning of a brand new 260-day Maya Calendar cycle, the shift in energy is palpable. It is late summer, preparations are beginning to be made for forthcoming seasonal transitions, and change is in the wind. Unlike one cycle ago, when things were looking bleak on many fronts, there is a distinctly “lighter” feel at this point, even though Read the full article…
