Maya Calendar Energies At Work In The World

The Maya date was 4 Ajaw 3 K’ank’in, equivalent to Dec. 21, 2012 – not the “end” of the calendar, but the completion of the 13th Bak’tun, a key date that marked the beginning of a new Great Cycle of Time. As always, the energies encoded in the calendar continue on. As described in Manual for the Soul, A Guide to the Energies of Life, the 260 day cycle that forms the foundation for the Maya Calendar is comprised of 20 trecenas (weeks), each containing 13 days, each of which represents a unique energy with a very special meaning. These energies as they manifest, at work and at play, are the focus of this blog.

There is no getting around it, this is going to be a lot of hoof-stomping during what is sure to be a highly charged sequence of events during this 13-day period. This will not be a “business as usual, let’s negotiate”, type of period, as has occurred in the past, in conjunction with this energy sequence, but is more likely Read the full article…

When it comes to events that tend to shape or foment significant changes in direction in world history, it seems that some trecenas are particularly consequential. Over the past decade, this Ix (Jaguar) trecena has been one of them. Ix is an energy aligned with the Maya mythological idea of the “Night Sun” and “terrestrial fire”, which often brings with Read the full article…

What a difference one cycle can make. Last August, as a new 260-day Maya Calendar cycle was set to begin, there was a renewed sense of optimism as the Harris-Walz campaign clicked into high gear in the U.S. and people had “a reason to hope” that rationality and justice would prevail and Trumpism would finally die down. New military equipment Read the full article…

Once again the Maya Calendar’s timing is extraordinary, as the One Lamat start of this trecena, the day before the funeral of Pope Francis, is marking 17 Tzolk’in cycles exactly since his inauguration. Moreover, his One Lamat inauguration in 2013 was 88 days after Dec. 21, 2012, that highly significant “great cycle” completion date in the Maya Calendar Long Count. Read the full article…

Easter is just around the corner, and as this trecena begins many in the U.S. will be wondering whether or not they can afford to buy Easter eggs this year, as the economic turmoil, triggered by gross ineptitude in the White House and roller-coaster stock market fluctuations, and the tearing down of government agencies, has millions of people thinking twice Read the full article…

As has happened many times before, this trecena is being blown in by strong winds that brought freezing rain and an ice storm to Ontario just as this trecena was coming in, as well as bringing thunderstorms, heavy rains, and the possibility of tornadoes to many regions in the U.S., which could impact more than 100 million Americans. While there Read the full article…

The Maya 260-day Tzolk’in cycle consists of five 52-day segments, one of which just ended, with a new one (the final one in the current cyle) just beginning. That last 52-day segment began just four days after the presidential inauguration in the U.S., in January, with an energy associated with “Earthquake” or “Evolutionary Movement” – signalling that there could be Read the full article…

In the early morning hours of April 18, 1906, on the first day of this trecena, residents of San Francisco felt a rumble, a forewarning of what was to happen 20-25 seconds later, when one of Planet Earth’s most catastrophic earthquakes ruptured the San Andreas fault for almost 300 miles. It was a shakeup that killed thousands, left 80% of Read the full article…

We are in a time of great darkness, a time of extreme chaos and crisis, as hundreds of thousands of experienced, highly skilled, career professionals are being fired from federal positions all across the US, from agencies ranging from public health services, to financial services, to aviation regulation, to food regulation, to law enforcement, to national parks and environmental protection, Read the full article…

The day after the November elections in the U.S., the highly respected Canadian journalist Andrew Coyne wrote:  “Nothing mattered, in the end. Not the probable dementia, the unfathomable ignorance, the emotional incontinence; not, certainly, the shambling, hate-filled campaign, or the ludicrously unworkable anti-policies. The candidate out on bail in four jurisdictions, the convicted fraud artist, the adjudicated rapist and serial Read the full article…
