Maya Count Of Days Horoscope

Maya Calendar Energies At Work In The World

One of the most interesting things about the Maya calendar is its ability to offer glimpses into the cyclical nature of events. Its energies serve as markers that can help us to comprehend the nature of the forces that affect us, observe how things evolve, and acquire awareness of significant beginnings and endings.

Two cycles ago, in November 2024, this Kawak (Storm) trecena opened as Cuba was scrambling to deal with the aftermath of a severe hurricane that had struck the day before, and the northern Pacific was bracing for the impact of a super typhoon. At that time the world was in a state of shock and profound disbelief as it became evident that American citizens had re-elected a convicted felon, fraudster, convicted sexual offender, misogynist, xenophobe, serial liar, and insurrectionist as their next president – even though he told them that he wanted to trash the US health care system, destabilize the education system, block or undo civil liberties, disregard or override the US constitution, deport millions of people, punish enemies, and become a “dictator on day one”.

However, it took another 260 day cycle – a cycle that was more like a slash and burn campaign that tore through the lives and careers of thousands of people – before the tide really began to turn as people came to more fully realize the devastating implications of that election, and what had been wrought as a result of it. By that time it had become clear that the monster was flailing, and pushback from the people was gaining considerable strength on multiple fronts. By that time (last July) one of the biggest storms that was brewing was the political storm related to the infamous Epstein files, and there were multiple reports of the Maga world “imploding” over the scandal. In that regard it was becoming clear that he was even turning against his own supporters, as he was referring to them as “gullible weaklings”.

And now, after two cycles of stonewalling, information suppression, and outright misprision on the part of a multitude of US government officals, and after yet another cycle of monumental ineptitude, moral decay, and brutalization of democracy, a storm of enormous proportions is looming, as the world at large increasingly sees him as a deeply disturbed, malevolent “war criminal” who has been attempting to torpedo the global order itself.

Now, two cycles after that election, with widescale global condemnation of his actions, including from Pope Leo and the Dalai Lama, the calls for the dumpster’s removal are stronger than ever – particularly the call to invoke the 25th Amendment, based on his demonstrable dementia and unfitness for office. Note that this is now marking four cycles since June of 2023, when various investigative efforts culminated in the dumpster offically becoming “defendant Trump”, as the US justice system clicked in with a torrent of actions. That was when Special Counsel Jack Smith announced a 37-count indictment against him relating to the “willful retention of national defence information under the Espionage Act”, which was followed by this arraignment in Miami. At the same time the go-ahead was given for E. Jean Carroll to pursue her defamation case against him (which she won, and kept winning during appeals).

Now as this current “Storm” related trecena gets underway, the storm clouds looming on the horizon are assuming multiple shapes. Among those is the Middle East storm, which includes the impossible situation between the US and Iran, the horrific continuation of Israeli bombings in several areas, and the gross ineptitude of those in charge. There is the continuation of the Russia-Ukraine war, with still no end in sight. There is the economic fall out from the closure of the Strait of Hormuz. And, of course, there is the ongoing political storm related to the infamous Epstein files, which is becoming more and more turbulent.

What we are working with at this time is an energy sequence that is under the auspices of Tláloc, the Aztec god of rain (known as Chac to the Maya). As has often been in evidence, Chac often announces his presence at the start of this period in dramatic, sometimes highly tempestuous, ways, as happened in September of 2022, when Hurricane Fiona brought devastation to the Dominican Republic and lashed Puerto Rico, at the same time as Typhoon Nanmadol pounded Japan with high winds and torrential rains and a 7.6 earthquake shook western Mexico.

Adaptation of the Kawak trecena from the pre-Columbian Codex Borgia by artist Richard Balthazar (used with permission). The first day (One Kawak or “One Storm”) is represented by the little head of Tlaloc (equivalent to the Maya rain god Chac) at the bottom right corner (within the border). Each of the remaining days proceed around the edge from there towards the left, ending with 13 Chuwen (Monkey), depicted as the head of a monkey, at the upper left corner. In the centre on the right is Tlaloc, the Aztec god of rains and storms, the chief patron of this trecena. This is a time frame that has the potential to be benevolent, but these energies can also be volatile and changeable, and even very “stormy”. Click here for an overview of Richard’s various other versions of the same trecena.

Four cycles ago the powerful and erratic Cyclone Biparjay, that traversed almost this entire time frame, brought widespread destruction to Pakistan and many parts of India. Back in 2014 this Kawak trecena brought forth “the worst snowstorm in recorded history” in the New York area, dumping nearly 8 feet of snow in the Buffalo region. Very significantly, this was the period during which Hurricane Katrina inundated New Orleans in 2005, during the last three days of this time frame. As noted below, the energy of 11 Muluk, an intense water-related force that comes in near the end of this trecena, is particularly prone to “major water-related” events. Indeed, right on schedule, that was the force that brought Super Typhoon Man-Yi to the Philippines two cycles ago, and then pounded the Philippines with another typhoon precisely one cycle later, last July. Many firestorms also made their appearance during this trecena when it was in place last summer.

Currently it is New Zealand that is taking a hit, with thousands of New Zealanders being forced to evacuate as Cyclone Vaianu closes in, bringing strong winds and heavy rains. Another cyclone has been pounding the Solomon Islands, and may be heading toward Australia after that.

But as much as this “storm” idea can manifest in very literal ways, as seen in events associated with clouds, lightning, thunder, and heavy rainfall, events during this Kawak trecena can play out in a multitude of ways, often precipitating compassion or strong emotion. In September of 2022 this could be seen on a wide scale at the time of Queen Elizabeth II’s state funeral on the first day of this period, exactly two cycles after Prince Phillip’s funeral that took place during the height of the pandemic. Diana, Princess of Wales, was born under the same energy influence, in 1961. Currently this period will mark what would have been Queen Elizabeth’s 100th birthday.

Note that the catalyzation process triggered by these intense energies can take many forms. In 1944, for example, this trecena brought forth the greatest amphibious invasion in history, on a day now referred to as D-Day, as allied forces landed in Normandy on the life-oriented mid-point of this trecena, marking the beginning of European liberation. In the summer of 1963 this trecena had triggered the first national integrated civil rights march in U.S. history. In 2022 the trial related to the death of George Floyd, that took place during this trecena, became a pivotal episode related to the Black Lives Matter movement. In 2017 President Obama delivered his poignant farewell address as president on the third day of this period, as the world waited in fear of the darkness that was looming on the horizon. These are the kinds of deeply felt events that mark significant change – events that can evoke or trigger strong emotion, often with an emphasis on compassion.

While no one can predict exactly what the outcome of this particular trecena’s “storms” will be, it appears that there is a strong call for creative expression this time through, as this trecena is bringing in World Artisan Day, World Heritage Day, World Art Day, World Creativity Day, the UN’s World Creativity and Innovation Day, and a number of festivals and commemorations. At this time there will also be much discussion and attention given to the successful completion of the historic Artemis II mission to the moon and back. Overall this would be a great time to focus on achievements and the kinds of creative, purposeful actions that can move mountains, push away the storm clouds, and open the doors to the kinds of change that will truly bring a return to sanity, compassionate caring, and freedom. Here are the energies that are coming into place:

One Kawak (April 11th) – the “initiation” of a “catalytic storm”, which often manifests as a “storm of emotion”, often bringing “floods of tears”, as was certainly the case two cycles ago (early November, 2024), as the US presidential election results were confirmed and people worldwide were recoiling in horror at hearing the results. As Guardian columnist Rhiannon Lucy Cosslet wrote under the heading: “People around the world are appalled by Trump’s win”. She spoke of the “feeling of peril” that many American women would be having from this news, as well as the “body horror” that was being felt by the many others on the dumpster’s “hit-list of undesirables: immigrants, gay and transgender people, disabled people, protesters. Anyone capable of empathy. . . . .”

Since then that sense of revulsion has never stopped, and now has reached epic levels as the reign of terror that was triggered at that time has precipitated widespread destruction and unimaginable amounts of suffering.

Even back in 2017, during the dumpster’s first administration, this was the energy in place when Americans in Puerto Rico were begging for federal aid as they faced a growing humanitarian crisis due to lack of adequate food, water, power, and fuel after being hit by Hurricane Maria. Back then Trump’s response was to highlight the island’s “massive debt”, blame the people for their own misfortune, and withhold greatly needed aid.

Two cycles after that, in 2019, during a hearing before the House Oversight and Reform Committee, former “fixer” Michael Cohen shed light on a wide range of fraudulent activities and wrongdoings associated with the dumpster, for which the latter was subsequently investigated, charged, and convicted. That was seen as a “pivotal moment in history” when much of the fraud and many of the conspiracies related to the Trump-world began to be exposed, and yet it all came storming back two cycles ago (in 2024) with those election results.

When this energy was in place in September of 2022, all eyes were on London as hundreds of heads of state and foreign dignitaries gathered inside Westminster Abbey for Queen Elizabeth II’s state funeral, to say farewell to the UK’s longest reigning monarch, which took place exactly two cycles after the funeral in April of 2021 for Prince Philip at Windsor Castle. This is also the Maya Calendar birth energy of Diana, Princess of Wales.

Four cycles ago, in June of 2023, this storm-related energy brought Russia’s destruction of the Nova Kakhovka dam on the Dnipro River in Ukraine, when a massive flood of water was released from the reservoir, flooding dozens of villages and parts of the city of Kherson. Ukraine’s president Volodymyr Zelenskyy condemned this destruction as “an environmental bomb of mass destruction” and vowed that Ukrainians would fight on to completely liberate their country from Russian occupiers. This current trecena is opening on Day 1,508 of the Russia-Ukraine war, with still no end in sight, and with the ceasefire in the Iranian war on thin ice, and Israel still bombing Lebanon, there are sure to be many, many protests continuing in many places on this day. In London, for example, “Everyone Day” protests will be taking place in Trafalgar Square.

Everyone Day on One Kawak.

But not all large gatherings on this day will be protest related. Indeed, in Vancouver this is the day for the Vancouver Vaisakhi parade, with huge floats and community performances. Others will be involved in National Pet Day events, providing a reminder of the need for compassion with regard to our furry and feathered companions. And many others will be celebrating the return of the Artemis II space travellers, after completion of their historic mission around the moon.

2 Ajaw (April 12th) – a dynamic type of energy aligned with the full sun, full power, and the idea of  “enlightenment”, as was in place in 2013 when President Obama gave his address in East Berlin during which he outlined his vision for a safer, more cooperative world, to mark the 50th anniversary of President John F. Kennedy’s 1963 speech. Currently this is the day when parliamentary elections will be held in Hungary, as Victor Orbán faces the possibility of being ousted by a new opposition movement.

This is the Maya birth energy of Rosa Parks, the very brave woman who refused to give up her seat on a Montgomery bus in 1955, sparking the Montgomery bus boycott – a significant civil rights event.

This is currently marking six cycles since early 2022 when five of the world’s most powerful nations agreed that “a nuclear war cannot be won and must never be fought” in a rare joint pledge to reduce the risk of such a conflict ever starting. The pledge, called Joint Statement of the Leaders of the Five Nuclear-Weapon States on Preventing Nuclear War and Avoiding Arms Races, was signed by the US, Russia, China, the UK, and France, the five nuclear weapons states recognised by the 1968 Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty (NPT) who are also the five permanent members of the UN security council. They are known as the P5 or the N5. Problematically, however, there is the North Korea factor, the rogue nature of the current leadership of at least two of those countries, and the fact that the US itself is still under the leadership of a raving lunatic.

This is the International Day for Street Children, which has been celebrated globally since 2012, which begs the question – how many thousands of children continue to be rendered “street children” as a result of wars that so-called “adults” have been unable to prevent. It is also the opening day for the three-day Global Security Forum in Doha-Qatar.

This is the 46th anniversary of the day when 22 year-old amputee Terry Fox dipped his artificial leg into the Atlantic Ocean near St. John’s, Newfoundland, filled 2 large bottles with ocean water (one to pour into the Pacific), and then started his cross-Canada Marathon of Hope with a 12-mile run, to raise funds for cancer research. Since then millions have been raised, and Terry Fox runs continue, both nationally and internationally.

3 Imix (April 13th) – the “activation” of “birth” or the realm of all potential, coinciding with the start of Songkran, the three-day Thai New Year national holiday and water-throwing festival (representing purification and the washing away of bad luck). Songkran derives from a Sanskrit phrase meaning “passage of the sun”. During this festival the old year is symbolically washed away and preparations are made for the new one. Elders in the community are given garlands of flowers. In addition this is the start of the three-day Dai Water Splashing Festival, a traditional festival celebrated by the Dai people in China to mark their lunar new year and exchange wishes for good luck, health, and happiness.

This is the 12th anniversary of the day in 2014 when the Ukrainian government began mobilizing its military for “large scale anti-terrorist operations” after another day of violence and bloodshed in eastern Ukraine when more government buildings in more cities were seized by heavily armed, masked pro-Russian activists. The U.N. Security Council held an emergency meeting in the evening as this crisis was seen as being on the brink of civil war (but later seen by the world as a huge geo-political shift being orchestrated by Russia). That was when some 10,000 people rallied in central Moscow to denounce Russia’s aggressive actions in this regard and to denounce the Russian state media coverage of the Ukraine crisis.

Sunset brings the beginning of ceremonies associated with Yom HaShoah, Israel’s Holocaust Martyrs’ and Heroes’ Remembrance Day, which continues into the following day. Given Israel’s continuing aggression in the Middle East, and the current attacks on Lebanon, it remains to be seen how this will be addressed.

When this was in place in early 2024 President Biden announced over 500 new sanctions against Russia, partly to “hold Russia accountable” for what happened to Alexei Navalny, Putin’s greatest critic, who had died a few days earlier in a Russian prison. Five cycles ago (in 2022) both President Biden and Ukraine’s President Zelenskyy gave speeches at the UN, with a focus on war crimes perpetuated by Russia, at the same time as Putin was escalating his war against Ukraine. That was when Letitia James, New York State’s attorney general, filed a 222 page lawsuit against the dumpster, his children, and his family real estate business, accusing them of an “astonishing” pattern of fraud. When the trial concluded just over three cycles ago he was found guilty of fraud and required to pay over $450 million in fines.

This also marks thirteen terrifying cycles since President Obama’s poignant farewell address to the nation in January of 2017. The world has not had a moment of peace or calm since then. How we miss him!!

4 Ik’ (April 14th) – the “defining” of wind/breath/spirit; an important energy associated with communication, symbolized by the mythological connection between the sun and the wind oriented deity known as Quetzalcóatl/Feathered Serpent. This is one of the five energies at the centre of the Aztec Sun Stone. It is also the birth energy of Nahui Ehécatl (4 Wind aka 4 Ik’), one of the patrons of this time frame, coinciding at this time with Vaisakhi, a major Sikh festival celebrated around the world, marking the birth of the Khalsa order in 1699.

This is the full day of Yom HaShoah, Israel’s Holocaust Martyrs’ and Heroes’ Remembrance Day, Israel’s day of commemoration for the approx. 6 million Jews who perished during the second world war’s holocaust. At 10:00 am an air raid siren generally would signal the start of two minutes of silence across the country. At that time cars would stop, and people stand at silent attention in remembrance. One of the traditions associated with this is the lighting of special yellow candles that include Star of David logos. Special celebrations are also held near the Babi Yar Holocaust Memorial park in Kyiv, Ukraine at this time.

This marks six cycles since US Attorney General Merrick Garland affirmed, in January of 2022, that the US Justice Department was committed to defending democracy and to holding all perpetrators of the January 6th insurrection, at any level, accountable under law — whether they were present that day or were otherwise criminally responsible for the assault on democracy. Then, two cycles after that announcement, Special Counsel Jack Smith announced the 37-count indictment against Trump pertaining to the squirrelling away of federal documents, charging him with the “willful retention of national defence information under the Espionage Act”. That case was dismissed by a judge on a questionable technicality, and would certainly not be revived during the Trump 2.0 tenure. And the assault on democracy continues . . . .

5 Ak’b’al (April 15th) the “pinpointing” of deep esoteric mysteries (or even “darkness”) – an energy that could also be seen as a “targeting” type of energy associated with “House or Temple”, as was in place early in 2019 when the House Judiciary Committee in the U.S. formally began gathering proof of obstruction of justice, corruption, and abuses of power with regard to the the Trump 1.0 administration. In retrospect all of that seems tame compared with 2.0.

Back in June of 1944 this was the energy in place when the US seized a German U-boat, allowing the US access to all the secret information that it was carrying, including Nazi codebooks. In 2005 this was the energy in place when the weather system that turned into Hurricane Katrina began forming as a Tropical Depression.

Currently this is UNESCO’s World Art Day, on the theme of “A Garden of Expression: Cultivating Community Through Art”, National ASL Day (American Sign Language Day), and North Korea’s Day of the Sun, the start of a three-day public holiday and Sun Festival to celebrate the 114th birthday of Kim Il-Sung, the founder and first leader of that country. It is also the 6th anniversary of the devastating fire in Notre-Dame Cathedral in Paris, and the final day of Thailand’s Songkran festival, and final day of the Dai Water Splashing Festival.

6 K’an (April 16th) – a “six directions” type of energy aligned with “youthful vitality”, and often associated with great wealth – often manifesting as an energy that can impact great wealth.

Two cycles ago this was in place the dumpster announced that Elon Musk, Tesla CEO and X owner, and Vivek Ramaswamy, a former Republican presidential candidate, would lead a new Department of Government Efficiency, or DOGE. Shortly thereafter Ramaswamy disappeared, and Musk went on to sadistically demolish whole government departments prior to a huge blow-up with Trump. Surprise, Surprise!

In 2019 this was the energy in place at the time of the publication of Miles Taylor’s A Warning, which offered “an unprecedented behind-the-scenes portrait” of the Trump 1.0 presidency”. At the time Taylor identified himself as part of the “Resistance Inside the Trump Administration”. This took place as “stormy” impeachment hearings were underway over the dumpster’s attempt to coerce the president of Ukraine.

In 2005 this was the energy that was turning Katrina into a Tropical Storm (pre-hurricane) at the same time as an extreme solar geomagnetic storm was triggered.

Currently this is the opening day for the 4-day Niagara Falls Elvis Festival (also see 8 Kimi, below).

Chicomecoatl

7 Chikchan (April 17th) – a self-generating Liberation/Lifeforce type of energy, seen traditionally as the daysign of Chicomecóatl, the Aztec Goddess of agriculture (especially maize) which was representative of the more positive aspects of this time frame, with its potential for providing conditions that are favorable for bringing forth nourishment – now in place in conjunction with the New Moon.

On this day the Korean K-Pop supergroup BTS will be performing in Tokyo at the Tokyo Dome stadium (capacity of around 55,000 people) as part of one of the biggest music tours in history. So far the tour is listed as encompassing 85 dates in 34 cities, in 23 countries. The “BTS effect” is even reshaping aviation economics in various places due to its impact on flight patterns for fans. In the US the huge Coachella Valley Music and Arts festival is underway in Indio, California.

Note that this can also be an intense energy, as seen in 1985 when a devastating 8.1 earthquake struck Mexico City under this influence, collapsing over 400 buildings and killing at least 5,000 people.

This is an energy that can also quickly generate strong winds, as it did in September of 2022 when thousands of people were evacuated as Super Typhoon Noru (Cat. 5) battered the Philippines eastern islands with gusts of up to 195 km/hr (125mph) after an “explosive intensification”.

In 1944 the greatest amphibious assault in history, known as D-Day, took place under this influence, marking the beginning of European liberation near the end of World War II.

8 Kimi (April 18th) – a “resurrection” type of energy associated with “death” or “absolute spiritual foundations”, now marking four cycles exactly since the dumpster was arraigned in court in Miami on charges relating to his hoarding of classified government documents. That was the first-ever federal indictment of a former president. Three cycles ago he was also under indictment in New York for the hush-money scheme. This marks two terrifying cycles since anti-vaxxer Robert F. Kennedy Jr. was named to become the head of the US Department of Health and Human Services.

Currently this is both World Artisan Day, and World Heritage Day, the 42nd anniversary of The International Day for Monuments and Sites (ICOMOS). With so much of the world’s cultural heritage being under threat at this time, the need to protect these treasures is of great concern. This year’s ICOMOS theme of “Emergency Response for Living Heritage in contexts of Conflicts and Disasters” will focus on ways to protect and sustain these sites. The Surrey Vaisakhi parade, Canada’s largest Vaisakhi parade, also takes place at this time.

In the US this is the first day of National Park week (through to April 26th), at a time when there is a major push to save the national parks which are under threat from the dumpster’s diabolical executive orders.

This day is now marking 70 years since a 21-year-old Elvis Presley first appeared at the Tulsa Fairgrounds show, causing mass hysteria among young fans – especially girls. And now, 70 years later, BTS is doing the same thing on this second day of their Tokyo concert, but with a significantly larger audience.

9 Manik’ (April 19th) – an “outwardly projecting” type of energy associated with harmonization and reciprocity, but sometimes with a “sacrificial” aspect, coinciding at this time with China’s Double Third (or Shangsi) Festival, aka “The Washing Festival”, that involves the invocation of cleansing rituals to prevent disease and get rid of bad luck, in association with spring. This festival also known as The Banquet of Peaches of Immortality.

In Vancouver this is the day of the Lapu Lapu Day of Togetherness festival (April 17-19) celebrating Filipino culture and the contributions of Filipino Canadians. One of the main goals is to foster healing and support after the dreadful car-ramming incident that killed 11 people in 2025.

In the US, this is the 251st anniversary of the start of the American Revolutionary War. There will be a reenactment of the Battles of Lexington and Concord on this day, as part of Patriots’ Day weekend, to mark that anniversary. Those battles were on April 19, 1775).

Battle of Lexington by William Barnes Wollen. Public Domain.

During this weekend many events relating to this anniversary will take place in and around Lexington and in Minute Man National Historical Park. Perhaps this important anniversary will remind Americans about the sacrifices that have been made in the past in order to create a functional democracy, which has been so severely crippled and torn apart by the machinations of the evil tyrant who has already taken away a multitude of support services and personal freedoms from the people of that country, and who is much more interested in waging war and causing pain than engaging in anything constructive.

This was the Maya calendar energy in place in 1963 when Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. gave his memorable “I Have a Dream” speech at the Lincoln Memorial during the first national integrated civil rights march in the U.S., the largest civil rights rally in U.S. history by that time.

10 Lamat (April 20th) “foundational bright star” – a fundamental “signalling” type of energy which also has a tendency to “kick up a storm”, as many severe storms have been in effect under this influence.

This is coinciding with the eighth anniversary of the huge 2018 National School Walkout against gun violence in the US. Unfortunately, that walkout did not prompt the legislative action needed, and the violence continues.

In 1918 this was the energy in place when the Representation of the People Act came into effect that extended the vote to 8.4 million women in the UK over the age of 30.

Currently this is coinciding with Patriots’ Day in the US, and the 130th Boston Marathon. As of this date businesses can begin applying for tariff refunds. Some $166 billion in tariff collections were deemed illegal by the US Supreme Court, reflecting yet another monumental screw-up by the dumpster’s administration.

Israel’s Yom HaZikaron (Memorial Day) begins at sundown.

11 Muluk (April 21st) – the “change” in conjunction with “water” energy that has brought forth many very intense water related events in the past, such as Hurricane Katrina in 2005, now in place on what would have been Queen Elizabeth’s 100th birthday. This is the 22nd anniversary of the day in 2004 when over a million women, including activists from 60 countries, held a major demonstration in Washington D.C., in support of women’s reproductive rights and justice for women.

This is the UN’s World Creativity and Innovation Day, dedicated to raising awareness about the role of creativity and innovation in all aspects of human development, with this year’s theme being “Harnessing Creativity for Global Progress”.

It is also the opening day for the five-day Americas Summit in Panama, where delegates from across the Americas meet to discuss the region’s most pressing issues and work to promote cross-border partnerships.

In addition this is Israel’s full Yom HaZikaron day (official Memorial Day for the Fallen Soldiers of The Wars of Israel and Victims of Actions of Terrorism).

In 2017 this was in place when the fast moving Hurricane Nate reached hurricane strength in the Gulf of Mexico, before making landfall near the Mississippi Delta two days later. In Nov. 2019, this 11 Muluk energy brought storms of “biblical proportions” that swept through France, Greece, and Italy, triggering landslides, flash floods, and black-outs. Seven cycles ago Super Typhoon Surigae explosively intensified into a bomb cyclone under this influence, near the Aleutian Islands, and six cycles ago this energy brought a gargantuan “atmospheric river” to B.C., which resulted in devastating flooding. Four cycles ago, in 2023, millions of people across India and Pakistan were dealing with the effects of Cyclone Biparjoy. This is definitely not an energy to be trifled with.

12 Ok (April 22nd) – a “grouping together” energy associated with love, warmth, and guidance – and sometimes even fire, coinciding at this time with the peak of the Lyrids meteor shower and with Earth Day, with this year’s theme being “Our Power, Our Planet”. More than ever, Mother Earth is in need of stewards who will help to protect her.

Earth, from Artemis I. NASA, Public Domain.

This is also Israel’s 78th Independence Day (Yom Ha’atzma’ut in Hebrew), and the day for the Spring event for International Astronomy Day.

13 Chuwen (April 23rd) – “transformational monkey” or “transformational play”, an intense and highly creative “time weaving” type of energy, sometimes referred to as “Thirteen Threads”; a powerfully innovative type of force traditionally aligned with play, creativity, “time-weaving”, and even (at times) intense “trickery”. This is the kind of energy that can sometimes prompt one into thinking differently or trying out new possibilities, as was in place on Jan. 20th, 2017 at the time of the dumpster’s inauguration amid a massive demonstration of resistance by some 60 large protest groups. That was the same day as New York’s Department of Financial Services fined Deutsche Bank $425 million for its involvement in a money-laundering scheme using mirror-trading that improperly shifted $10 million out of Russia. That was the same bank that had loaned millions to the dumpster.

When this energy was in place three cycles ago (in 2024) the US Supreme Court decided the “eligibility” issue with regard to the presidential election by ruling that Trump could remain on the ballot, overturning a 4-3 ruling by the Colorado Supreme Court that had stated that he could not run because he had engaged in insurrection. That day was to be the start date for the dumpster’s trial in the DC federal insurrection/election subversion case (re Jan. 6th) but that got postponed. If the Supreme Court had upheld Colorado’s decision everything would have been different from that point on – yet another example of how decisions made by just a handful of people can change the trajectory of the world and impact the lives of millions.

This is UNESCO’s World Book and Copyright Day. UNESCO has named Rabat, Morocco as World Book Capital for 2026. This begins a year of celebrations in that city. As UNESCO’s Director-General Audrey Azoulay has stated:

Books are vital vehicles to access, transmit and promote education, science, culture and information worldwide. Thanks to books, we keep ourselves informed, entertained and are able to better understand our world.
