Do you remember what you were doing on Jan. 3rd, 2021? Along with a lot of us you were likely eagerly awaiting the departure of the “former guy” from the White House, waiting for the official confirmation of Joe Biden as the new U.S. president, hoping that a lot of the trauma and drama of the previous four years would finally dissipate, and eagerly anticipating that the new president would take the reins and set in motion whatever was required in order to subdue and eradicate the raging pandemic. That day was the beginning of this Men (Eagle) trecena. Our hopes and wishes were soaring like eagles as we prepared for what we hoped would be a brand new lease on possibilities. That was the day when the 117th US Congress was sworn in, and Nancy Pelosi made history once again by securing a fourth term as Speaker of the House of Representatives.

But . . . . the inauguration was still over two weeks away and the situation in Washington was volatile. We were close to the end of the previous 260-day cycle, and at the beginning of the Men trecena, which has been known to foment a kind of “last stand” way of interacting. Often this manifests a kind of “call to action” type of period that tends to be oriented around the idea of “taking a stance” or standing up for particular convictions. It is an energy zone that has been oriented, traditionally, around power, high vision, military strength, and transformative action, as symbolized by the eagle. Often there is a call for both high vision and courage, and people can find themselves in positions where they have no choice but to “become warriors” for a cause. The idea of “battling”, “pushing for supremacy”, and even “sabre-rattling” often goes hand-in-and with this time frame – and that is exactly what took place on the fourth day of this trecena when the violent insurrection unfolded at the U.S. Capitol.

As we have later learned, that Jan. 3rd day was the day when the dumpster held a meeting at the White House with a large group of DoJ officials to try to get them to overturn the election, the day when hundreds of DoJ officials threatened to resign en masse if he went through with his scheme.

As hundreds of soon-to-be-insurrectionists began rallying in Washington, that was the day when the Washington Post published a transcript that revealed how the day before the deceptor-in-chief had “berated, begged, and threatened” Georgia’s Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger to overturn the results of the election in that state. Investigative journalist Carl Bernstein called this “the ultimate smoking gun tape”, far worse than Watergate, since it revealed that the deceptor-in-chief was willingly trying “to undermine the electoral system and illegally, improperly and immorally trying to instigate a coup.” Fortunately Raffensperger held his ground and emphasized that those statements about voter fraud were simply “not true”.

So now, here we find that these same energies are returning, as if “on cue”, just as the Jan. 6th Committee public hearings get underway. During these hearings the committee will not only present their findings thus far (from over 1,000 interviews and over 140,000 documents collected over 10 months), but will conduct additional hearings and present new, substantial, evidence associated with the planning and execution of the insurrection attempt. As journalist Bob Woodward has pointed out many times, there was a “criminal conspiracy to subvert the lawful function of government”, and this is what this evidence is set to reveal. Both Woodward and his fellow journalist Carl Bernstein – 50 year veterans in investigating government corruption – point out that one big difference between this situation and the attempted subversion during the Watergate scandal was that, at that time, “courageous Republicans” told Nixon that he could not be president anymore because he violated the law. This time far too many Republicans have been co-conspirators, and few (if any) have had the fortitude to put the law, the constitution, morality, and the will of the people ahead of their misaligned loyalty to someone whose intentions and actions were clearly seditious . . . . . which makes this a very ominous time in world history. And that’s without even touching on the pandemic and such unspeakable tragedies as Russia’s on-going bombardment of Ukraine.

Keep in mind, however, that history has shown that declarations of war have often been aligned with this trecena, and there is a great deal of sabre-rattling going on these days, in several parts of the world. But, as can be seen by some of the key events that have taken place in the past during this time frame, things often go very, very awry for Trump during this period, and considering the nature of the events that are scheduled for these 13 days, it looks like much more of the same is about to unfold as far as he is concerned.

On the pandemic front, however, things are definitely improving. Even though the global number of coronavirus cases, and the U.S. number of cases, have more than doubled over the past 260-day cycle, the death rate and rate of spread have decreased significantly in recent weeks, in most places.  That doesn’t mean that we should let down our guard, however, as there are still pockets of high numbers and many countries are still registering numbers in the thousands on a daily basis.

During this time frame the Aztec goddess Xochiquetzal (Flower Feather) was seen as being the key patron of this energy period. She is aligned with artistry, creativity, household arts, fertility, and female sexual power. She was also a protector of young mothers and a patroness of childbirth. This may sound unusual, given the “eagle warrior” theme of this trecena, but this deity represents a connection to the idea of “women as warriors”, particularly those who died in childbirth who were esteemed for their bravery.

In addition it was thought that a fearsome deity called Tezcatlipoca, who was highly aligned with fire, strength, “supremacy”, and transformation, was a second overseer of this time frame, so these deities would work together to provide a double layer of influence. Bravery, strength, creativity, and transformation are all aligned with these ideas.

As we can see there are many battles still to be fought, not only in war zones such as Ukraine, and in political battlefields such as Washington D.C., but on many other fronts as well. The challenge of staying healthy in the midst of epidemics, the challenge of helping the displaced or dispossessed to find new lives, the battle to help our planet to refresh and restore itself, the battle to defeat dark forces wherever they lurk, these are all things that require us to be like eagles – to “rise high” and push towards the sun and the light – towards the ultimate goal of clearing and healing. Send as much light and love as possible to those on the front lines, wherever they may be. During this critical period these are the energies that come into play:

One Men (June 7th) – the “initiation” of a high-flying (Eagle oriented) solar energy, a kind of “pushing for supremacy” type of force that, in the past, has manifested in the form of declarations of war, major battles, anti-government demonstrations and significant calls for reform, and even aggressive actions that have served to advance select interests. At this time this energy marks 12 Tzolk’in cycles since the start of the 2013 Maidan Uprising in Ukraine, the wave of protest reactions that sprung up when the then-pro-Russian government declined to sign association and free-trade agreements with the EU, which the people saw as “a big step backwards”. People were outraged, as it seemed like the country was sliding backwards.

Little did they know at that time that they would be brutally attacked by Russia in subsequent years, beginning with their annexation of Crimea by Russia in 2014. In 2014 this was the energy in place when the U.S. launched airstrikes against ISIS groups in Iraq.

This One Men/One Eagle day coincides with what would have been Prince’s 64th Gregorian birthday. His departure six years ago was much too soon!

As of this day it has been nine cycles since the unexpected death of rock icon David Bowie. This is also the Maya birth energy of rock ’n’ roll legend Stevie Nicks, who was named by Rolling Stone as one of the 100 Greatest Songwriters of All Time. She is the only woman to have been inducted twice into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.

2 Kib’ (June 8th) – a “dynamic” type of energy that can “shake things up” but ultimately tends towards being a transmutation force that can lead towards the restoration of order, now marking the start of the 9th trecena since the start of the Russian invasion of Ukraine.

This is the opening day for the biennial Celebration festival, the largest cultural event in Alaska, a highly festive event that brings together Tlingit, Haida, and Tsimshian clans in a four day celebration of traditional song, dance, arts, foods, and languages, with this year’s theme being: Celebration 2022: Celebrating 10,000 Years of Cultural Survival. Celebration 2022 will mark the 40th anniversary of the event, first held in 1982.

This is also the UN’s World Oceans Day, with this year’s theme being “Revitalization: Collective Action for the Ocean”, a global day to focus attention on stewardship and the need to conserve marine resources for future generations.

One cycle since the release of the Woodward/Costa book titled Peril, that closely examines the tumultuous time at the end of the former guy’s “presidency”, spanning the November 2020 election, the January 6 insurrection, and President Biden’s inauguration, shedding considerable light on what CNN called “one of the most dangerous periods in American history.” That was the day when President Biden addressed the UN General Assembly to urge world leaders to commit collectively to vaccinating 70% of the world’s population against C-19 within a year – a target that is close to being reached.

3 Kab’an (June 9th) – the “activation” of “movement” or “earth movement”, coinciding at this time with the start of the Jan. 6th Committee’s public hearings, almost two cycles exactly since President Biden’s inauguration. Note also that June 17th is the 50th Gregorian anniversary of the Watergate break-in.

In India this 3 Kab’an day is the start of the auspicious Ganga Dussehra festival, a highly auspicious day in the Hindu religion. It is believed that one can get salvation from sins or achieve Moksha (liberation) at this time by taking a dip in the Ganges River, which is seen as the incarnation of the Goddess Ganga.

4 Etz’nab’ (June 10th) – a “defining” type of energy aligned with Etz’nab’s flint-oriented, “knife-edged”, “shock and awe” dazzle – an energy that can bring sudden change, as it did on this fourth day of this trecena, in January of 2021, when that frenzied mob, worked up by a diabolical covey of seditious politicians who were trying to subvert the election results, violently attacked the Capitol Building in Washington D.C. at the very time when the Joint Session of Congress was attempting to ascertain and count the Electoral College Votes to formally declare the results of the 2020 election.

Currently this is the closing day for the Summit of the Americas in Los Angeles, which could conclude with some important announcements as another large migrant “river” is making it way north towards the United States.

5 Kawak (June 11th) – the “blessing” of “stormy” compassion; a precision kind of energy that can stir emotions and trigger important events, as it did two cycles ago in the early morning hours of Jan. 7th, 2021 when members of Congress returned to complete their task, even though they had been under attack for hours. That was when Joe Biden and Kamala Harris were confirmed as the new U.S. president and vice-president. On that same day Joe Biden announced that he was nominating Judge Merrick Garland to serve as the next U.S. attorney general. That was the day, as the mess from the insurrection was being cleaned up in Washington, when newspapers around the world ran headlines such as ‘Trump blows up US democracy’: the world watches in horror” (The Guardian).

Currently this is the final day of the huge Celebration festival in Alaska, as well as national “Making Life Beautiful” day – let’s hope people take it to heart!

6 Ajaw (June 12th ) – an “everywhere” type of energy associated with full sun and the power of enlightenment, as was in place two cycles ago when Twitter “saw the light” and permanently suspended the dumpster’s account for “severe violations” of their civic integrity policy.

This is the Maya birth energy of Bernard Lyot, the French astronomer who invented the coronagraph to study the sun’s corona and its prominences without having to wait for a solar eclipse.

7 Imix (June 13th) – “self-generating” birth, an energy often asssociated with the envisioning of a “new order of being”, coinciding at this time with the second of the Jan. 6th Committee public hearings. This could be a particularly eventful day with regard to these hearings since this was the energy in place three cycles ago (in early 2020) when the dumpster had “one of the worst days in one of the worst weeks” in his so-called “presidency” as even his closest allies were backing away from his increasingly inane statements about how to deal with the pandemic.

This “mid-point of this trecena” energy was in place when Hernán Cortés and his Spanish conquistadores arrived at Tenochtitlan (Mexico City) in 1519, marking the beginning of a “titanic” struggle for power that involved the Spanish siege of Tenochtitlan and its ultimate defeat two years later.

Currently, this is St. Anthony’s Feast Day, a popular Catholic celebration of a saint sometimes known as the Wonder-worker, the patron saint for the recovery of lost things. Also known as the marriage saint, he has been recognized in legends as facilitating reconciliations. Celebrations in his honour will be held in many places worldwide at this time – perhaps to seek his help in the global effort to recovery health, peace, stability, morality, and humanity.

8 Ik’ (June 14th) – the “resurrection” of wind/breath/spirit; symbolic of the Corn God working together with the wind/breath/spirit aspect of Quetzalcóatl, at the time of the Super Full Strawberry Moon (aka the Green Corn Moon, the Birth Moon, and the Honey Moon), said to be associated with luck, love, and prosperity. This is World Pet Memorial Day, a special day to remember all the wonderful animal companions that have graced our lives – and all those “out there” who would desperately love to find “furever” homes and people to take care of them.

This day also marks 13 cycles since the March 2013 election of Pope Francis.

9 Ak’b’al (June 15th) – an “outwardly-projecting” type of force often aligned with “temple” or “house”, deep esoteric mysteries, and even “darkness”. In 2016 (8 cycles ago) this was the energy in place at the beginning of a 4-day nuclear war drill in Russia involving 40 million civilians, tens of thousands of emergency workers and troops, and more than 50,000 vehicles. Which begs the question – why was this drill even necessary?

This marks two cycles since the Jan. 11th, 2021 “incitement of insurrection” article of impeachment (against Trump) was introduced in the House of Representatives, as a growing number of Republicans were declaring that the dumpster was unfit for office. At that time Republican Senator Toomey said that Trump had “descended into a level of madness and engaged in activity that was absolutely unthinkable and unforgivable.” At the same time Mitch McConnell met with two longtime advisors, at which time he said: “The Democrats are going to take care of the son of a bitch for us . . . If this isn’t impeachable, I don’t know what is.” Again, that was 520 days ago – but since then many of them appear to have changed their tune.

10 K’an (June 16th) – “foundational germination” – a force that can be quite volatile, as in the generation of strong weather conditions or in the eruption of strong emotion-propelled action that could “germinate” into new directions. This will be the third scheduled day for the January 6th Committee’s public hearings, which will focus on Trump’s alleged plot to influence and possibly replace the U.S. Attorney General in an attempt to “legitimize” his false claims.

In 1813 this was the energy in place when James Madison (“The Father of the Constitution” and the main force behind the ratification of the US Bill of Rights) was inaugurated for his second term as US President. Wherever he is right now, he must be appalled at what has been happening over the last few years.

11 Chikchan (June 17th) – inspirational Lifeforce, aligned with Liberation and Higher Consciousness; a Burner Day traditionally associated with “extinguishing the fire” – often signalling some kind of change in direction (particularly of an energy sequence), as was in place last year on Canada’s first National Day for Truth and Reconciliation, aka Orange Shirt Day.

At this time, with the Jan. 6th Committee public hearings taking place, this energy marks the 50th Gregorian anniversary of the Watergate break-in, providing a timely reminder of the kind of nefarious tactics that Republicans in the US have used in the past in their efforts to gain or steal power.

It has been four cycles exactly since August of 2019 when an unidentified whistleblower sent “an urgent concern” to the inspector general of the US intelligence community, which (eventually) led to the dumpster’s first impeachment trial in early 2020. Two cycles after that, precisely, the US House of Representatives impeached the dumpster for the second time (the first time this had ever happened), via a bipartisan vote.

This powerful Lifeforce-oriented energy was the Maya birth energy of Paul Farmer, the medical anthropologist and physician who was known as “the man who would cure the world”. He received many awards for his work in helping to provide health care for some of the world’s poorest communities, including the Aurora Prize for Awakening Humanity.

12 Kimi (June 18th) – a “gathering together” type of energy associated with “absolute foundations”; a “regrouping type of energy” that could help to lay the foundations for new ideas or ventures, coinciding at this time with the start of World Unity Week (June 18-25) , an eight-day online celebration of global unity oriented around taking collective action on concerns such as climate action, human rights, disarmament, justice, and healing, by forming partnerships for peace and global governance towards sustainable and regenerative development, and interfaith and interracial harmony.

This marks exactly eight cycles since this energy brought one of the “most insane and consequential news days in the history of the US”, just before the 2016 election. It was the day when the dumpster’s campaign almost imploded but was somehow “revived” when the hacked Clinton campaign e-mails were suddenly released by Wikileaks, setting the stage for the forthcoming “election from hell”.

Amazingly this was also the energy in place when John F. Kennedy was nominated by the Democratic Party as their candidate in 1960 and it was also in place at the time of the death of Ted Kennedy in 2009. In addition, this is U.S. Vice-President Kamala Harris’s Maya birth energy, and Sir Paul McCartney’s 80th Gregorian birthday.

13 Manik’ (June 19th) – “transformational deer” (which could translate as “transformational harmonization”), coinciding at this time with Father’s Day and with Juneteenth – known as African American Emancipation Day, the day in 1865 when Union soldiers landed at Galveston with news that the U.S. civil war had ended and that slaves were free.

In 1969 this was the energy in place when some two million demonstrators (many wearing black armbands) took part in “Moratorium Peace” rallies across the U.S. to protest against the Vietnam war, the largest march in U.S. history up to that time.

In October of 2016 this energy was in place when a rapidly growing number of Republicans were calling for Trump to step down (just prior to the election) and were (as some noted) “stampeding away from him”, but since then far too many have lost their backbones and moral fibre, and the poison that began spewing out into the world at that time eventually infected millions, as lies and conspiracy theories spread, and the craving for power stripped far too many in positions of public trust of all sense of decency and responsibility. Metaphorically this was not unlike the violent eruption of Krakatoa volcano in 1883, under this same energy influence, when the volcano exploded with such a force that it blew the island apart, creating a 130 ft. tsunami and a humungus dust cloud that plunged Jakarta, 100 miles away, into complete darkness. Overall, this is a good day to exercise caution as this can be a highly intense energy.
