As this Wind/Breath/Spirit trecena begins, brought in on the heels of the fearsome Hurricane Otis that decimated Acapulco, the question might be asked: “What kind of wind/breath/spirit is coming into place at this time?” Two cycles ago, in early June of 2022, the spirit was jubilant in the UK, as millions of party-goers took to the streets to celebrate Queen Elizabeth’s Grand Platinum Jubilee. One cycle later, however, the mood had shiften dramatically as the tragedies unfolding in Europe included Russia’s continuing bombardment of Ukraine, which had been going on for nearly a year by that time, and the enormous rescue effort that got underway after a deadly 7.8 earthquake last February hit Turkey and Syria, killing nearly 60,000 people and leaving some 1.5 million homeless.

In Ukraine, the midst of the bombardments, it was their “strong spirit”, as exemplified by President Zelenskyy, that was helping people to survive, despite enormous losses. And in the earthquake zone, as emphasis was placed on assessment and rescue, a herculean rescue effort got underway as search and rescue teams from at least 70 countries offered their support. An “air aid corridor” was established by the Turkish Armed Forces to mobilize search and rescue teams, and many military aircraft including an Airbus A400M and C-130 Hercules planes were used to transport search and rescue teams and vehicles to the area.

As rescue efforts continued throughout this trecena many small miracles took place as people, even small babies, were discovered alive and carefully retrieved after being under rubble for days. The beloved search and rescue dogs sent to the region from Mexico provided invaluable assistance. After one of those dogs, named Proteo, gave his life to that cause, the Turkish government gifted Mexico with a new puppy (named Arkadas, meaning “friend” in Turkish) last May, as a gesture of gratitude, and said that they hoped this new member of Mexico’s famed canine unit would “carry on the legacy” of Proteo. In response to this wonderful gift, Mexico said that “humanitarian aid knows no limits or borders”.

Symbolically, this is the trecena traditionally associated with Ehécatl, the “Wind/Breath/Spirit” form of the great Feathered Serpent that was often seen in ancient Mesoamerica as a portal to the heavens. One of the most prominent symbols associated with Ehécatl was a duck-billed mask, representative of the wind that blows in all directions. The fact that Ehécatl is a variant of the great Feathered Serpent, known as Kukulcan (Quetzalcoatl), is also significant since serpentine energy has long been associated with medicine, alchemy, and the healing arts. As shown in the trecena image, the duck-billed Ehécatl represents the first day of this period, which is thought to influence all the rest.

Another overarching influence during this time frame is symbolized by Chantico, the Goddess of Terrestrial Fire, associated with the warmth and nourishment of the hearth fire, and protection of the “home fires”, who serves as patron of this time frame. Associated with “high magic”, earthly treasures, and domesticity, Chantico provides the reminder that this would be an opportune time to look towards things that can inspire and uplift, to watch for the miracles that will unfold even within the worst possible contexts. In many regions at this time she will be busy helping people to find shelter, warmth, and comfort, particularly in places such as Acapulco as people work through the aftermath of that huge hurricane; in Ukraine, as colder weather sets in and bombardments continue; and in Gaza, where over two million people huddle in terror with little or no food, water, or fuel, not knowing when, where, or how they will be targeted by Israelis who seem more intent on seeking revenge than finding solutions to the long simmering tensions between the two countries.

During this period, one very important facet relates to communication – and how information is transmitted and received. It was the first day of this time period, last February, when President Zelenskyy gave a lengthy address to the European Council in which he thanked them for their support for Ukraine and reminded them that they were helping to protect Europe from “a regime that has proven that it has only one ambition: to destroy Europe’s freedom and to be an authoritarian master on the continent.” His effectiveness as a communicator has been a major factor in persuading other countries to provide assistance in this battle against oppression and tyranny.

Just four days after that address, thousands of people in Israel were protesting against Netanyahu’s policies, reflecting a situation where communication was problematic. And so it continues, as now Israel has taken offense to the fact that António Guterres, the UN secretary general, told the UN security council that “It is important to also recognise the attacks by Hamas did not happen in a vacuum. The Palestinian people have been subjected to 56 years of suffocating occupation.” Guterres had also accused Israel of clear violations of humanitarian law in Gaza, and insisted that a humanitarian ceasefire was vital. This is similar to a position that is being taken by the EU’s 27 member nations who are calling for “humanitarian corridors and pauses for humanitarian needs” with regard to that region. Just before the start of this trecena these EU leaders declared that the EU “reiterates the importance of ensuring the protection of all civilians at all times in line with international humanitarian law” and “deplores all loss of civilian life.” They also reaffirmed their commitment to support for Ukraine.

And on a completely different note, but still related to communication, with a new Speaker having been elected – after over three weeks of chaos in the U.S. House of Representative – it remains to be seen how this will play out, given that the new Speaker is a known election denier. The dumpster investigations and trials will be continuing during this time frame, and will include the start of at least two trials relating to potential enforcement of the 14th Amendment’s disqualification clause, which could result in the dumpster being disqualified from ever running for an election. It appears that another gag order is also needed.

So as this Ik’ trecena comes into play once again, it’s going to be another period of high intensity for millions of people. Many forces aligned with breath, spirit, communication, healing, alchemy, and even the magical arts will be activated, but as intense as it may be . . . expect miracles . . . anticipate magic. It’s all possible even though things look very grim in many places. Here are the energies that are coming into play:

One Ik’ (Oct. 27th) – the “initiation of wind/breath/spirit”, at a time when humanitarian teams are working feverishly to try to get water, food, power, and medical aid into Gaza. This marks 20 days since the horrific Hamas attack on Israel that triggered the Israeli-Gaza war, and the situation is light-years-beyond-grim as health care and life support systems in Gaza are failing, under continuous Israeli attacks, putting the lives of hundreds of thousands of people, who are already suffering from great losses, at further risk.

It has now been one cycle since relief personnel from around the world were rushing to Turkey and Syria last February to help with the massive humanitarian crisis that was underway after two massive earthquakes hit that region and thousands of survivors were in dire need of assistance on almost every level. At that time many miraculous rescues took place during the first few days of this period, including the retrieval of a 10-day old newborn boy and his mother after they had spent more than 83 hours in the earthquake rubble. Several people were rescued after being trapped for more than 100 hours.

Strong wind events have often been associated with this wind-related energy, but it is also associated with communication. And it appears that what is needed more than anything is some way to bring communication down to a more “level-headed” zone instead of letting rage and accusations fuel even more atrocities, including a possible Israeli ground assault on Gaza.

In southwest Mexico at this time cleanup is underway after that area was hit by a Cat. 5 hurricane that had rapidly intensified on 11 Kawak (Storm) near the end of the last trecena. Acapulco was hit particularly hard, and hundreds of buildings were damaged or destroyed.

This is the second day of a two-day meeting of the European Council, which has called for “humanitarian corridors and pauses for humanitarian needs” with regard to Gaza. Leaders of the EU’s 27 members declared that the EU “reiterates the importance of ensuring the protection of all civilians at all times in line with international humanitarian law” and “deplores all loss of civilian life.” They also reaffirmed their commitment to support for Ukraine, exactly one cycle after President Zelenskyy’s address to a Special Session of the European Council in Brussels.

It has now been eight cycles since the 2018 launch of the Never Again Movement in the US to advocate for gun control, after the horrific Florida school shooting, and the beginning of nationwide rallies by students across the US in a call for stricter gun regulations. And yet, mass shooting in that country continue, almost on a daily basis.

2 Ak’b’al (Oct. 28th) – a “dynamic” type of energy associated with the temple or “house” of deep esoteric mysteries, which has sometimes manifested as “darkness” – as in power outages (often from a strong wind event the day before) or even in the revealing of “deep, dark secrets” or actions, coinciding at this time with the Full Hunter’s Moon and a partial lunar eclipse (aka a “Blood Moon” eclipse) as the moon passes through Earth’s shadow.

Two cycles ago this was the energy in place when a state appeals court ruled that the dumpster must testify under oath in the New York Attorney General’s civil investigation into his business practices. With that trial now underway to determine the penalties in this case, in which he stands to lose his New York businesses, many “deep, dark secrets” are in the process of being revealed.

The last time this energy was in place a secret two-day cross-party summit was held in the UK at Ditchley Park that brought together “leavers” and “remainers” to address the failings of Brexit and to address the issue of how to remedy the situation.

This is now marking eight cycles since Special Counsel Robert Mueller indicted 13 Russians for election interference (for conspiracy to commit wire fraud and for aggravated identify theft).

3 K’an (Oct. 29th) – an “activation” type of energy associated with both germination and opulence, coinciding at this time with World Stroke Day, with the theme this year being “Together we are #Greater Than Stroke”. The emphasis is on raising awareness with regard to the prevention and treatment of this condition. This wealth-oriented energy was Queen Elizabeth II’s Maya birth energy.

4 Chikchan (Oct. 30th) – the “defining” of Lifeforce, a Burner Day associated with “running with the fire”, in conjunction with Quetzalcoatl’s connection with Liberation and Higher Consciousness, now marking nine cycles since June 2017 when thousands of protestors took part in March for Truth rallies in more than 150 cities across the US and around the world, calling for a fair and impartial investigation into alleged Russian interference in the 2016 election.

This was the Maya energy in place in 2011 when Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas asked the U.N. to recognize a state for the Palestinians and submitted an official request to the U.N. for full membership. Four cycles later Israel shelled a school that was serving as a UN shelter in Gaza, killing at least 15 and injuring more than 100. Currently this is the ninth anniversary of the day in 2014 when Sweden became the first EU member in western Europe to officially recognize the state of Palestine and confirm the Palestinians’ right to self-determination. By that time seven other EU members, in eastern regions, had also given Palestinians this recognition.

This was the energy in place when the 13th Amendment (the abolition of slavery) was passed by the U.S. House of Representatives in January of 1865.

The last time this was in place several more people were found alive in the rubble of the Turkey-Syria earthquakes, including a seven-month old baby girl who was saved after 150 hours, and an 8-year old boy who was rescued after 155 hours.

Currently this is the day when an unprecedented trial will begin in Colorado that will examine the “pivotal” legal question of investigation and enforcement of the 14th Amendment’s disqualification clause, which bars anyone from office who took an oath to support the U.S. Constitution but then “engaged in insurrection or rebellion against the same, or [has] given aid or comfort to the enemies thereof.” This lawsuit was filed by Republican and unaffiliated voters, represented by Citizens for Responsibility and Ethics in Washington, who want to protect the rights of voters “to fully participate in the upcoming primary election by ensuring that votes cast will be for those constitutionally qualified to hold office.” Other similar cases have been filed in other states around the country, including in Minnesota, where oral argument has been set for Nov. 2, and in Michigan.

5 Kimi (Oct. 31st) – a “precision” type of energy associated with “absolute foundations”, an energy that can sometimes be seen as a “game changing” force, as it can bring things right down to the barest of essentials, prior to regeneration. But that can also mean bringing things down to “pure spirit”, which can be that “game changing” turning point. The last time this was in place tens of thousands of people took to the streets in Israel, to protest against Netanyahu’s proposed legal changes. Many saw this as the beginning of constitutional and social collapse. Questions might be asked about whether there could a connection between all this and Netanyahu’s insistence on bombing Gaza to smitherines, under some warped pretense of maintaining power.

In 2018 the energy of 5 Kimi was in place when Democrats won back the US House of
Representatives in the midterm elections and made history with a record number of women winning seats in Congress.

Currently this is both Hallowe’en and Samhain, associated with the ancient Celtic festival that marked the end of harvest and the beginning of winter and “the dark half of the year”.

This is also UNICEF Day and the UN’s 10th global celebration of World Cities Day, with this year’s observance being held in Istanbul, Turkey around the Theme: Financing sustainable urban future for all. It is also the day when King Charles and Queen Camilla will begin their visit to Kenya.

During the summer of 1973 this was the energy in place when the New York Daily News ran the headline: “Nixon Blasts ‘False’ Charges”, and newspapers across the US all ran a variation of the same.

6 Manik’ (Nov. 1st) – the energy of the six directions in conjunction with the reciprocity-oriented (but sometimes “sacrificial”) energy of the deer (traditionally seen as a “carrier for the sun” on Earth). This energy is coinciding at this time with All Saints’ Day and Dia de los Inocentes – the part of Mexico’s Day of the Dead festival that focuses on remembrances for the young who have died. The final day of the celebration is the next day. Marigolds are prominent at this time in Mexico.

In many parts of the planet this day will be observed as World Vegan Day, in celebration of the benefits of veganism for animals, humans, and the natural environment.

In the UK this is the first day of the world’s first global artificial intelligence safety summit, a two-day event that will focus on the existential threat that many feel AI poses. The AI Safety summit will take place at Bletchley Park, the site in southern England where mathematician Alan Turing cracked Nazi Germany’s Enigma code. Those in attendance will include lawmakers, AI pioneers and academics, as well as U.S. Vice President Kamala Harris and Google DeepMind CEO Demis Hassabis.

This is also the beginning of Native-American heritage month, and the start of the 28th RNCI Red Nation International Film Festival (The Authentic Voice of American Indian and Indigenous Cinema), which runs from Nov. 1-30.

In Canada this is the 33rd anniversary of Métis Settlements Proclamation Day, in celebration of the 1990 proclamation by the Alberta government to provide a unique form of government for Métis settlements, to help them gain local autonomy and achieve self-sufficiency.

In 2019 this was the energy in place when the “notorious” phone conversation between the dumpster and new Ukraine president Zelenskyy took place in which Zelenskyy was pressured to investigate Hunter Biden’s involvement in Ukraine. This became a focal point for the first impeachment trial against the dumpster, on charges of abuse of power and obstruction of Congress.

7 Lamat (Nov. 2nd) – “self-generating star” or beacon; a strong “heralding” type of energy, as well as a force that has been historically associated with strong winds (often tornadoes and hurricanes), and other forms of severe weather, at this mid-point in the “Wind” trecena, on the second day of the global artificial intelligence safety summit in the UK. As noted above (Oct. 30th), this is the day when oral arguments will be heard in Minnesota, in another trial related to enforcement of the 14th Amendment’s disqualification clause.

This is the day when the Beatles will release their last “new” Beatles song, called “Now and Then”, an AI reconstruction that includes John Lennon’s voice and George Harrison’s guitar playing.

In April of 2020 this was in place when, for the first time since the outbreak of the coronavirus, all 50 US states were under disaster declaration as the number of cases in the US were climbing. Currently this is UNESCO’s International Day Against Violence and Bullying at School, including Cyberbullying.

In addition, this is Dia de los Muertos (Day of the Dead) in Mexico and in many other areas, particularly throughout Latin American communities. Given the understanding that there is much beyond the end of life on this plane, keep in mind that Mexico’s Day of the Day is all about “laughing” at death. Further, this is All Soul’s Day, the third component of the Christian observances of Allhollowtide (the “time to remember the dead”), that includes All Saints’ Eve (Hallowe’en), All Saints’ Day and All Soul’s Day. Feliz Día de los Muertos!

8 Muluk (Nov. 3rd) – the “resurrection” of water; strongly aligned with rebirth and “purification”, coinciding at this time with Culture Day in Japan, a day to promote culture and the arts through exhibitions, parades, and festivals. This has been celebrated as a national holiday in Japan since 1948.

9 Ok (Nov. 4th) –an “outwardly-projecting” type of energy associated with love, loyalty, and guidance that can have long lasting influence; a “double-fire” type of energy often aligned with “hearth-fire” or even “heart-fire”, coinciding at this time with King Tut Day, in commemoration of the day in 1922 when a team of archaeologists led by Howard Carter found the first step leading to the entrance to King Tutankhamen’s tomb in Egypt. As it happens this is also Howard Carter’s Maya birth energy. Coincidently (or not) this was the energy in place one cycle ago (in February) on the 100th anniversary of the day when Howard Carter first entered the burial chamber of King Tutankhamen, in 1923.

It has now been two cycles since the start of a special four-day Jubilee bank holiday weekend in the UK last year to mark Queen Elizabeth’s official birthday, one of the last big events of her reign.

10 Chuwen (Nov. 5th) – “foundational play”; a creative time-weaving type of force, coinciding with Puno Day in Peru, to celebrate the legendary birth of Manco Cápac who was, according to some historians, the first governor and founder of the Inca civilization in Cusco.

In the UK this is Guy Fawkes day (and Bonfire Night), in remembrance of the “Gunpowder Plot” of 1605 when Guy Fawkes tried to blow up the Palace of Westminster during England’s state opening of Parliament.

This is the also the UN’s 7th World Tsunami Awareness Day, part of a
campaign to invest in resilient infrastructures, early warning systems, and education to help alleviate tsunami risks. In addition, this marks the ending of Daylight Savings Time.

11 Eb’ (Nov. 6th) – inspirational “animating vitality”, aligned with change and new possibilities, coinciding at this time with the 77th meeting of the CITES standing committee in Geneva. This is the UN’s International Day for Preventing the Exploitation of the Environment in War and Armed Conflict. Will anyone at all in Israel or Gaza or Russia or Ukraine or Sudan or Syria or Iran or any other war-torn region be paying attention?

In 1917 this was the energy in place when, reportedly, the Virgin Mary made her sixth and final appearance to three children at Fatima, supposedly in front of 70,000 people. This event included the “Miracle of the Sun” during which many people saw the sun go through an unusual zigzag movement, at which time (so the story goes) many were cured of afflications.

12 B’en (Nov. 7th) – a “dedicated” type of force aligned with personal authority, a double-Quetzalcoatl, lifeforce-oriented type of force, coinciding at this time with National Hug a Bear Day – Teddy Bears, that is, not the ones in the wild.

The last time this was in place (last February) President Biden made a surprise visit to Kyiv.

13 Ix (Nov. 8th) – “transformational Jaguar” – a double transformation type of energy associated with the Jaguar and earth mysteries, coinciding at this time with Indigenous Veterans Day in Canada and the start of Veterans’ Week. The last time this energy was in place President Biden met with world leaders and delivered a speech from the Gardens at the Royal Castle in Warsaw, Poland, ahead of the one-year marking of the Russian invasion of Ukraine.
